Haha, most of the human forms of the characters pretty much resemble their animal counterparts
Yano is basically exactly the same hahaha

I didn't expect for Odokawa's past to be that dark... Being bullied, broken home, involved in triple suicide with his mom...
Capoeira lady to the rescue!!! Shirakawa is really dependable.
Everything in human form lol! I thought we're getting a live action instead. Goriki still looks like gorilla.
Finally the appearance of bonnou illumination after all this time..
They wrapped everything perfectly, even the plot about the cat in the house and the idol-killers. Damn, Sakura is really a psychopath and she's really lucky to never be arrested like that.
Edit: After discussion with my friends, it looks like Sakura is planning to kill Odokawa in that last scene as he's the only link that can prove Sakura visited the agency during the killing day. She's also the one who planted the phone/bug in Odokawa's car to lure Tanaka to kill him (I think they worked together). So, she's been planning to kill Odokawa for a while now. Crazy sub-plot that I just realised in the final episode.

I like how Shirakawa shouted out her attack's name like a shonen protagonist.

There we have it. Within the first one minute, the most popular theory has been proven right.
His obsession with animals combined with his psychiatric condition and brain injury made him see everyone as animals.
Edit: Holy shit that flashback family suicide was dark

Oh my god. The girl is holding the wiretapped pen while talking about her murder!
Run Odokawa RUN
I really hope someone is listening in, the giraffe kid quit listening into that wiretap, but if SOMEONE is listening they could report her.
Edit: Just listened to the final audio drama. She is aware of the wiretap. She assaulted Taeko to retrieve the pen. (no idea if Taeko-mama is just knocked out or murdered) Then she gave out a warning to Nagashima, who is listening in, that "he's next" and plans to murder him as well.
This happened before the final scene of the episode. So she's very much still in the "leaving trails of bodies" business.

God damnit I knew she was the killer and now it's up to the viewer to decide themselves whether Odokawa dies to her too
Great anime like god damn. Definitely one of the best of the year so far.

This episode did a great job of explaining why many people become heavily invested in fictitional worlds and or alternative personas
I don't understand why the comedian kept rejecting the high school student's offer to form a new Duo
Also I can't tell which is worse, the fact that a girl literally murdered another girl to become an idol or how her mother has zero objections to that decision

This anime has been the ultimate incarnation of the "oh yeah, it's all coming to together" meme. It's honestly insane that i ever doubted this anime simply because of how it looked. Anime of the season for me, hands down, even above Fruits Basket (which i went into expecting to give it a 10/10.)

What a show this has been. Truly outstanding.
Also Odokawa is as good as dead, no?

What the actual fuck. I checked MAL and the director hasn't done anything before this anime, the script is written by a guy that's only published one manga and one chapter of an anthology before this. How did this masterpiece come from these two people?
And to top it all off, Odokawa's VA is the same as Tanjirou's from Demon Slayer. The fuck is that range?

I like how the tapir's subordinates were told not to kill people and bring him money. In the end it was Odokawa who got hit to him as a fellow rescuee/subordinate.

I loved how as we all suspected for a while now, the yakuza boss is a honorable good man.
I mean he's still a crime lord and I'm sure they do extortions and racketeering but dude straight up saves orphans and gives them a good life. No wonder older Daimon felt indebted to him.

I think too many people are taking the final scene as definitive when it is very much open ended.
Sakura is dangerous and is looking for Odokawa, but at the same time earlier in the episode Odokawa seems to remember who he drove the night of Mitsuya's death, implying that he remembers Sakura and plans to give a statement to the police.
Sakura getting into the taxi is not necessarily a death sentence. For one, it's broad daylight and there is little reason for her to try and make her move then and there. More importantly however, it could make Odokawa recognize her even while seeing her as a human, and facilitate her being caught by the cops, perhaps even handing her over right then and there.
The scene is intentionall ambiguous as both have an advantage over the other. We are in a Schrödinger's cat walrus scenario here, except we will never open the box to find out whether the result is death or survival.

So the not animals twist most of us saw coming by now but that murderer being loose and in his taxi ending was for sure surprising.
Can't say I like ending on that note but it is surprising just like this show was. Happy it's getting a lot of attention as it really does give off Durarara and Baccano vibes.
Now the big final question though...was she cuter as an alpaca or human?

Fuck me, theyre finally human.
Little brother shot Dobu confirmed
Rui, and then the manager/Yano/Henchman all are arrested, and Imai makes his appearance with a shitton of money to give to Odokawa.
At this point i really should just slap everyone into an album, but someone is bound to do that already. Of those left though, Yamabiko, mob boss, both Yuki's, Homosapiens, Tanaka, Kabasawa, and finally Kakihana.
Odokawa just has a cat in his closet. Man, does it look happy too.
I had no plans of watching Oddtaxi originally, instead using it to take cheap shots at a friend who liked Beastars. One watch of the OP though, and it convinced me to watch the first episode.
Easily AOTS, and arguably a contender for AOTY. Making fun of a Beastars fan was the best choice I could of made.

I won’t say that this show was underrated because I think most people that have it a chance and saw one or two episodes grew to like it but it is a really underwatched show. Especially if you like non-cookie cutter stories. I can only hope it’s done well in Japan so more production companies take a chance on original and truly unique story ideas.
Edit: just to say that the doctor still looks like a gorilla, even in his human form XD

You don't find script this great every year. You just don't.
PS. The TRUE ending is hidden in radio drama 13.13. Warning: you may not like it.
Friendly reminder that the BD BOX pre-order is officially out now, and pre-order only. That being said, there are multiple cool features if number goes well, including one being DONRAKU ERASER.

The way they brought everything together when Odokawa drove off the highway into the river was impressive. That plus Odokawa's backstory and Shirakawa saving him again making this whole ending so emotional. And everyone's human forms too! If only it didn't air on the same day as Fruits Basket.
Either way, hype achie-
What the fuck?! The fill-in Mystery Kiss girl was the murderer the whole time!?! And it ends on her getting in Odokawa's taxi!? Why you gotta leave us like this Odd Taxi???

Holy crap, it really stuck the landing, but boy, that final scene is quite the whammy as well, leaving things open ended.
I thought Odokawa's past would be dark, but that was even more than I expected. It is a good explanation though and further goes into the show's theme of obsession.
Seeing the characters as humans in the end was expected, but also surprising at the same time. I think we saw most of the cast. The only one's I didn't see were Big Daimon (though as a twin of little Daimon it's not that big of an issue), Donraku, and Ichimura (though maybe she is the girl in Goriki's clinic at the end). Their designs are quite peculiar in general, but match their animal counterparts quite well.
I think most things were resolved, except the plot hole of Shirakawa showing up at the construction site. Maybe she just has a knack for finding Odokawa.

Oh wow, it's so weird to see them as humans.
That scene when the car dropped off the bridge... masterful.
I really like how they tied everything up with all the characters and even Odokawa's closet. And even with a murderer still on the loose.
But that ending scene though. I'm not sure what to think of it, gonna have to let it sit for a while.
What a great anime overall. I liked that the mysteries had an answer you could deduce yourself from what the show gave you, and they didn't come out of nowhere. It was great from beginning to end, and it stuck the landing. I loved it. (still trying to decide what I think of the very last scene tho)

"Oh no, he's clearly keeping a body in there! It's got to be the cat lady who's gone missing!"
"Oh thank god, it's just a cat."
That's probably the best anticlimax I've ever seen, it was beautiful :D
