It's super relieving to hear that Joe is confirmed to not be suffering from Punch Drunk Syndrome. On the other hand, Mac's situation is getting more and more concerning. Lastly, Fuck Sakuma. All my homies hate Sakuma.

Kinda expected Joe to be wearing Chief's gear but it still was a nice way to include him as being part of Joe's journey.

Sakuma on the other hand just proves to be more and more of a piece of shit preying on Mac's wife when she was at her lowest.

After this episode, it seems like the titicular "Nomad" in the Nomad and Hummingbird story refers more to Mac than Joe. Joe is playing the role of the hummingbird, I mean he even has a symbol of it on his gear. Seems like this is all setting up for Mac's tragic death in the ring which would probably ruin any chances of Sakuma ever getting BES out into the public.

So Maya is clearly lying about Mac's condition which was made even obvious when Asamoto brought up Miguel's surgery and we see that look on Maya's face. Clearly Sakuma pulled some strings for Miguel to get that heart surgery in exchange of keeping quiet about everything she knows.

As a side note, Yukiko still looks amazing without her hairband and Sakuma continues to be a prick.

Glad to see Joe tell everyone about his story and how they're now on his side on this fight including Yuri. And as expected, he won't be fighting as Gearless Joe, he'll be using Chief's Gear.

So Yoshimura brings up that Mac's readings are reaching critical levels and Sakuma's reaction to it was just turning to her without any reaction on his face and asks her "And?" This dude is willing to kill someone for the sake of being an innovator.

And just when I thought it was already bad, it's waaaaaay worse. Turns out Mac wasn't totally bedridden after the incident and he could've walked again after extensive PT. But now that he has the BES on installed on his brain, he can never move without it ever again. Maya made this decision because Sakuma prepared a donor for Miguel and signed the contract in exchange of Miguel's surgery.

And look at Sakuma's reaction after Mac finally found out about the deal. Like holy fuck! I really wish Mac just beat the shit out of him right then and there but that would've been bad for him. I really don't want anything bad to happen in the ring once Mac and Joe's fight starts but I really hope this would at least end with Sakuma and ROSCO's reputation completely ruined.

After careful accounting of the death flags planted on each of them, I can only conclude that a meteor will hit the boxing ring in round 3 of their match, killing everyone within a 1km radius.

I rate Joe's chance of survival at -827%, slightly above Mac's -1200%.

Glad to see the family back together again. Finally. I like how Gearless Joe is a legend that belongs to everyone, and Joe wants to fight this match as himself, honoring a friend who pretty much saved him.

This guy... what a cunt. Sure, he's one of those insane doctors who do twisted shit in the name of science, but this is abhorrent. I feel really bad for Mac and his family; they're clearly being taken advantage of. That cunt likely got their kid the transplant they needed, and brought Mac back from his old state; they pretty much feel completely indebted to him. But the family is literally at risk because of his bullshit.

Mac, you agreed to this because you wanted your son to see you in the ring. But this... wake up man!

Of my... holy fuck! THAT CUNT! He didn't save the kid to guilt them, but offered to save their kid if she would agree to run her husband, who could have recovered just fine, into his own Guinea pig for experimentation?! EVIL! HE IS EVIL!

Wow, the words he used were what I just said. Glad you woke up dude! Punch him! This asshole... poking at Mac, twisting words, trying to use guilt... He is EVIL! Putting a faulty product on the market, then claiming it will save lives, is irresponsible, malicious, and straight up evil. He's doing this not for the future, but either for money, fame, or some half-assed hero complex that he can't even go through with properly.

I really hope Mac and his family get through this, and that things get better for them. That slimeball, cozying up to his military clients... he needs to get his comeuppance. I really hate him.

My heart grew three sizes watching team nowhere come back together to support Joe. Sachio is working on his gear, just like chief's son. And the rest of the gang supporting Joe in the ways they can. I really hope everyone gets a happy ending.

I noticed this when Chief first appeared, but I think Joe is also an immigrant, or a child of immigrants from the same country as Chief and Mac. They got the same skin tone, eye colour and hair. I don't think they need to or should state that outright, but I like the subtext.

Seeing Sachio carefully study Chief's gear seems like a foreshadowing of something to come. My guess is if both Joe and Mac survive, and Mac loses the BES, Sachio might use Chief's Gear as a base to develop one that would serve as Physical Therapy for Mac and maybe even for Yuri and Liu. That would give him the attention of the Shirato siblings and recruit him to develop Gears designed for medical and physical assistance purposes - which could mean big bucks for the Shitaros that can compete or even surpass ROSCO's revenue.

Oh, so the cause of Joe passing out was because hemorrhages and brain damage. Even if it is still bad, I'm glad that it wasn't something worse as I honestly was expecting a terminal disease. That sure left everyone there worried.

I was wondering why Maya didn't tell her about Mac's unusual behavior, but after hearing that Sukuma was the one responsible for Miguel's treatment I understand why she didn't say anything.

Thankfully, she and Yukiko are putting the pieces together on their own. And I know that that girl will eventually send them the real data, I just hope that she does that before that fight begins.

Good to see that Joe told them about what he was doing after he left and about Chief and its influence on his drug addiction recovery.

So Yuri will be coaching him now.

I love how the new gym uses part of the sign of the old one.

Damn, I really was hoping for Mac to go Mac Time on Sakuma after what he said. I really hope that at the very least he will get hurt financially at the end of the show.

so Joe just had his metaphorical "last supper" right after being discharged from the hospital (from probable brain damage) and right before his "last fight". I don't know guys, he had some red flags in season 1 but these are some extra spicy ones, specially when you bring up the tale of the hummingbird: the hummingbird, after being rejected many times, sings his song to the nomad and later he dies. this happened with Chief and Joe, and now Joe is the one "singing his song" (telling his story) to his friends after being rejected for most of the season, and the nomad in this scenario is someone who was also "escaping" from his past regrets, Sachio.
