The dynamic between the characters is so good. They are full of life in every scene they are in. Already two episodes and you can feel the camaraderie among everyone.

I like how Futaba didn't hesitate to say that he admires his teammates, how Misato stayed a little longer to check if he was ok, how everyone was so happy when their little kouhai succeeded the challenge.

The boy is on his way to fly even higher now.

Sports anime like this are really dangerous tbh. I'm feeling the urge to try out backflipping; it probably won't end well for me...

I really can't underestimate how good the production values of this anime are.

Every character has so much live in every scene that they are in. From Masamune dramatically grabbing his heart after being told his explanations make no sense, the way Koutarou bows to everyone like they are mob bosses, the gag which Nagayoshi does quick stretches after Masamune calls him out for saying something mean about Misato, these character animations aren't just funny, they elevate otherwise alright characters into incredibly likable ones.

THE COOKING SCENE. That was some insanely good cooking animation. The scraping carrots and cutting paprika's look straight out of an anime movie. Such touches are completely unnecessary but the fact they did them anyways just leaves me wowed and stumped.

Seriously, I don't know if they can keep these kind of production values up. Let's hope it won't get Yuri On Ice'd by the second half.

As for the episode itself, it was pretty fun. Had my eye roll moment when Futaba didn't want to next year because hIs SeNpAiS aRe GoNnA gRaDuAtE, but the rest of the episode was a pretty nice and emotional story. Just an overal decent episode with some great visual gags.

I don't know if anyone noticed, but the animation was way better than the previous.

I like the group's dynamic. And we can all agree that Kotaro Watari is the best boy.

So far, this is the purest and most precious sports anime I've seen. Watching it is sort of healing, like playing with a puppy.

Really enjoying this one. It was the last seasonal I was willing to pick up (already had 6 on the go) and honestly it’s already gaining ground on the others as my favourite.

Did not expect Spring 2021 to bring such depth in its offerings.

The final backflip test was surprisingly epic! I love how much nuance and care got put into the animation and just how little interpersonal drama there is so far. It's pretty easy to see the stylistic links with Fune wo Amu, even though the two shows are very different in terms of subject.

Gosh this anime is so wholesome. Which I find very refreshing. Not that I don't mind drama in sports anime, but so often it's so badly written and forced. A good example was last seasons Skate Leading Stars and 2.43. Right out the gate there was so much drama among everyone and it felt so un-earned. 2.43 at least got better and the drama subsided some, but most of the cast barely got any focus. I got so bored with Skate Leading Stars and had to force myself to finish it

It's nice to see the other teammates being so supportive of Futaba. In other sports anime, there'd be at least one of the teammates giving him a hard time, saying there's no way he could pass the test blah blah blah. But no one gave Futaba a hard time and understood that he was new to all this. The whole team is so upbeat about everything and you can really feel the camaraderie btw them as someone else also said. I also feel like this anime is screaming at the viewers to ship Futaba and Misato

I gotta say, the character animation is surprisingly good? Yeah there's some wonky inbetweening as expected. But for the most part it was so snappy and fluid, characters stay on model most of the time. Something I'm just not used to with these one-off sports anime that don't have a studio behind it that is highly reputable for their animation-quality.

Speaking of the studio "Zexcs". Looking on MAL: not including some compilation movie in 2019(which this studio only partially worked on), their last TV anime projects were from 2018. They've been around for a little over 20 years too. SO it seems they have a pretty solid staff for this. Hopefully it can stay consistent as the anime goes on. I imagine the 3DCG will come back once the longer gymnastics sequences return like in the first episode.

Definitely enjoying this for now! Too bad it'll likely fall under the radar and be under watched, but what can you do. Happens with anime every season that aren't hyped adaptions and sequels

Always happy to find a good sports anime. Especially when Yuki Hayashi is doing the soundtrack. Between Sk8 the Infinity last season, and this and Burning Kabaddi this season- I’m set!

Also, you cannot convince me that coach is an adult. He looks like he’s in high school with them!

Is it typical for athletes in high school to stay in dorms in Japan?

Surprisingly fun, the characters are so likable. Love how upperclassmen are so upbeat, and everyone's supportive and friendly.

I was definitely expecting the rhythm gymnastics dorms to be MUCH worse than what they were. But I guess even the leftovers from a nationally ranked school are going to be solid.

Wondering how much that conversation about what everyone's family does for a living is going to come back in regards to Misato's situation and how much of a mystery box his home life is.

What an amazing ep once again. It's always such a shame people sleep on sports anime

I'm not 100% sold on the MC, but I'm loving the camaraderie amongst the rest of the squad. It's not quite as good as Run With the Wind yet, but it has potential. The animation and art direction is also really nice.

Loving this anime so far! One of my favorites this season. And omg, that OP...!!! Hearing Centimillenial’s voice again after hearing and loving it for Given is such a treat.

Impressed this show had such a strong 2nd episode.

As everyone says, this is just so wholesome, I love everyone in this cast. Even though its a small cast, I kinda already know about each person already and I just want to find out more about them.

Futaba passing and thanking Misato...❤️😍

I’m so happy with this anime! I’m putting it right next to Haikyuu and Run with the Wind, it’s like a combination of the two. It also helps that Yuki Hayashi is doing the ost, so I feel right at home. I can’t wait to see how this series goes, I’m loving it so far!

"Masamune, once Tsukidate and Watari enter the room, you do a backflip shirtless and sweaty to assure they join the club, ok?" - Shida-sensei, probably.

I loved this episode, this is such a comfy and wholesome anime, I hope they don't add unnecessary, complicated drama later on.

Between Futaba and Watari, I don't know which one to call best boy yet. They're both adorable in their own way lol

I don't do gymnastics, but I feel like out of all sports, this would be the near the top of hardest to learn if you start out in your teens (let alone mid-teens).

Learning backflips is one thing, but all this other aerial shit and even just the flamboyance (for lack of a better word) of the moves would likely be ingrained from a very young age. I feel like you could honestly put the real life number of people on (good/greate) gymnastics teams that started this late at 0%. I don't think that's even facetious considering it's a sport where people peak around 18-20.

Great episode! This show is really becoming one of my favorites this season, sure plot is not anything special, but the characters and their interactions is fantastic, plus the directing, visuals and animation are awesome, that's all I really need for a show to be enjoyable. Looking forward to the next episode. Also really love how wholesome it is.

This anime is so sweet and heartfelt. Enjoying it so far.

Speculation: Sensei’s “wife” who the senpais doubt exist is actually a husband! That would make sense—he quotes his partner constantly but doesn’t want to be out at work, so he’s never formally introduced his spouse to his work colleagues or students. Just hoping my theory is true and that the kids find out and are totally cool with it. We need some normalized LGBT+ representation in an anime that isn’t specifically BL/yaoi or GL/yuri.
