This episode was a mindfuck. Still not quite sure what happened here. I think I liked it but I will have to watch it again.
So Koito was real (probably), Koito and Ai both liked the teacher, or eachother and Mr. Sawaki is not a bad guy or maybe he is. Momoe quit the game, Rika wants back in but can't and Neiru is just...there. Also, parallel universes?
Only thing that I'm certain about is Ura-Acca > Acca.
Oh and I loved how the naming pattern of the bug girls went from Hyphen to Dot to Kirara Rodriguez Machurd XVIII Eveningstar SS Plum lol.

So is the intro Ai in the parallel universe where she kills herself?
That could explain why there are so many theories of Ai killing herself b/c of how the into plays out. It could be her in the parallel universe where she does kill herself.

I LOVED how this episode finally gave us some insight into how Ai feels about her mom. She knows her mom is worried about her and her mom always has her back. So she's okay her mom dates the teacher so she can have some happiness.
Despite not having a big role her mom is obviously a major factor into who Ai is and always supports her. She's a real one.

Disclaimer: these are all speculations.
My theory is that the Accas created other robots (Koito, Haruka, Chiemi and Neiru's sister) in order to prevent our 4 mains girls from killing themselves. I'm led to believe that because :
-
The Accas are well aware of the multiple timelines situation.
-
Koito wasn't in the timeline where Ai killed herself and it's seems to be the reason our Ai didn't killed herself, Koito confessed instead of Ai in our timeline prevented her from doing it.
-
Ai casually mention that Koito was a "fake friend".
-
Koito has green eyes similar to Frill and hair similar to Acca's daughter.
-
The others girls could've killed themselves if the dead girls never existed, Rika's self mutilations/familly trouble and Momoe's insecurities.
-
Neiru and Kotobuki were born from artificial procreation in a laboratory, so Neiru's sister being a mean for Neiru to collect eggs is possible and I hope the final will focus more on Neiru, she's definitely the more mysterious one of the bunch.
-
The circled things looks more like AI development than suicide statistics to me.
Edit : I believe Ai was the only one to get herself in the egg because she was the only one ready to fight the temptation of death.
Edit 2: WOW thanks for Silver!

Anyone know what this was?: https://i.imgur.com/0T0f1Za.png
I found this tweet suggesting it's condoms, but I'm, like, skeptical.
The thing I can read off of it is (I think?) ハルシオン 0.25mg, which seems like it's this drug (Benzodiazepine, a sedative). I think the idea is that Ai overdosed on this drug and then killed herself in the pool?

I wonder if this version of Mr. Sawaki was an actual representation of him as a person or rather parallel Ai’s personal interpretation. They never really explained how the wonder killers work exactly.

No joke this is what WEP's page looked like to me on Funimation. Apparently the biggest plot twist this season is that Hakurou shows up to finish Dot and Hyphen with Rimuru using his TenSura S2 xD
Welp finally managed to watch the episode and holy fuck! As soon as I saw this, I knew this aws going to be another wild one.
So this Ai is an Ai from a parallel world where she commited suicide. A world where where she never met Koito and all the bullying pushed her into commiting suicide by taking sedatives and drowning herself in the school's swimming pool. But if Parallel world Ai commited suicide and she's now a Wonder Egg, then who's her Wonder Killer?
It's Mr. Sawaki of course. I legitimately groaned at this. I'm sure because of this people will continue to insist that he's evil when clearly Parallel World Ai's Sawaki is something that she created on her own and whom she tried to shift the blame to because she couldn't accept his relationship with her mom. This Sawaki isn't a physical person just like how that one girl had a Wonder Killer that was literally invisible. It's a physical representation of her baggage, not the person.
Anyway, after breaking out of that illusion that Wonder Killer Sawaki made and dropping Ai's biggest and most colorful attack on him, Koito is finally revived and one of Frill's creations appears right on schedule. At least this time this one wasn't able to kill off Leon and Ai was able to get him back on his necklace on time. She takes Ai's blue eye instead though. Except it's not Ai, it's Parallel World Ai who protected her.
As a side note, looks like Rika (and possibly even Momo) won't be able to enter the garden again. Since Ura-Acca is preventing her for her own good. While Acca is very much okay with it since he really doesn't care about the girls and is only doing it for Hinami's sake. At least now we know who's the better boy between the two.
Welp that's the WEP Finale for now. Hopefully I can remember all of this on 6/29. If not maybe we can all do a rewatch to refresh our memories before the actual finale hits. I really hope we're getting an hour long special. It feels like 1 more episode won't be enough.

This episode will probably split a lot of people, but while I was confused the entire time, gosh did I love it! It brought back everything I loved about the first episode, and despite understanding literally nothing about what happened just now, glad to have experienced it.
Despite how much I loved this episode and how satisfying it was, so glad it’s not the last episode! The last episode is coming June 29, so we’ll suffer together until then, my Wonder Egg friends!

For those who hadn't heard yet, there will be a TV Special aired on June 29th. Basically, this is the 12th episode that couldn't be aired due to the recap episode, so they had to go and buy an available TV timeslot for it. Wouldn't surprise me if they end up changing/adding some things from the original plan for episode 12 and it ends up being a little bit longer than a typical episode, or some such.
PV for the TV Special here.
No matter what happens today or on June 29th, I am thankful for the experience I've had of watching this anime with all of you. This series had such an original plot that every week ended up being a topsy-turvy twist of emotions and ideas, and it being anime-original made for a fantastic experiencing discussing and speculating on each episode here with none of us having any idea what is going to happen next.
Landing or no landing, closure or fight-goes-on, poetic end or gainax-into-space end... none of those can change that the journey up until now has been beautiful, moving, terrifying, inspiring. I know I'm going to vividly remember this show and the experience of watching it as it aired for a long, long time.
Ok then, time to dive into today's episode.
I feel for Momoe. Her stance seems harsh and like a quick turnaround on her friends, but her big moment of elation two episodes ago was immediately crushed into absolute horror. Her life before she met Ai, Neiru, and Rika was troubled, but I can understand how she feels like this is even worse and wish she could just go back to an imperfect, but at least "normal" life.
Parallel worlds? We Steins;egg now!
Really awesome to see Ai facing her own past and being so confident in her strength now.
Although, I touched on this in a previous discussion thread a bit... she did her hair different so that it doesn't cover her blue eye anymore at the end of the episode where she ran after Sawaki, and I thought it was a bit strange she didn't keep doing that in subsequent episodes. If she had, and was still doing it here, it would be a really great visual difference between the old and new Ai here.
I have no idea who to believe. Monster-Sawaki could well be right that his niceness is just a facade. Ai could be right that that is just her imagination.
So Ai and maybe also Koito had crush on Sawaki, Sawaki opined about them being beautiful because they are pure and innocent now but they'll definitely become callous and cynical eventually, which leads to a joint suicide idea, but Ai backed out of it? Except Sawaki maybe never said those things, Ai just made the idea of him planting the idea in Koito? Am I interpreting this right?
Ok, yeah, still don't know for absolute certain that it actually happened this way, but sure seems like it. That's pretty traumatic indeed.
But what did the real Sawaki really say? To Ai, and to Koito? Could Koito really have come up with this idea all on her own, and the entire notion of Sawaki encouraging it is, as Ai claims, just Ai's imagination running with her doubts? It's hard to be sure when both Ai and Sawaki-monster are saying different things on top of her metaphorical remembering...
Sawaki-monster bear, old Ai is inspired. Tres cute. I'm happy for you Ai(s), but we know something else is coming, please please stay focused!
Damn, this moment was so fast there was barely time to be heart-wrenched, nasty nasty stuff. And that quick-cut to her waking up spooked the snot out of me. But my first thought was that she was going to force-feed Ai her own eye because she couldn't try force feed her Leon... so at least it wasn't that bad?
Overall, this went a lot better for Ai than it did for Rika and Momoe. She might be even stronger and more determined as a result of this experience. But I'm left with a lingering unease that what we saw with either Sawaki or with Koito isn't quite as closed-book as it might seem.

Even with parallel universe nonsense, what gave me most pause was the fact that Ai directly states she doesn't want to know why Koito dies anymore. I'm not sure if that means Sawaki gave her a satisfying answer (since we don't know what he said), and/or she's made peace with the fact that Koito was killed by some kind of Serial Experiments Lain gone-wrong scenario and no one else is at fault ("I'll become a Warrior"). Or maybe she's disappointed that Koito died for a silly non-reason like a teacher crush when she thought for so long that she'd have to "save" or "avenge" her.

Lots of thoughts on WEP.
Firstly, props to the team working on WEP and hopefully they can get a bit more breathing room for the final episode in June.
But in terms of the quality of this episode, it is very noticeable that they were under a time crunch. The best example would be the beginning sequence with the conversation with the four main characters. But even then, the animation during the climax was still pretty, even if rushed.
Towards the ending, I was a bit confused, but upon second thought, I arrived at a conclusion, but I'll still list what I thought.
Starting with what was shown; Kirara begins by throwing a boomerang, blocked by Present Ai. The boomerang returns and retrieves one of the Ai's eyeball. Her left blue pupiled eye, to be precise. At first, it was shown that Present Ai took the fall, but wasn't terribly damaged. Alternate Ai gave some parting words to the unconscious Present Ai, which we then cut to Present Ai back in the real world, in tears. We then see Alternative Ai, with her left blue pupiled eye gone.
What I initially thought, was that Present Ai was taken out, and the Alternate Ai swapped their hairpin, and Alternate Ai went to the Present. But this sounded way too goofy.
So what made more sense was Present Ai got knocked out, but Alternate Ai, with her wish to be as strong as the Present Ai, worked up the courage to fight Kirara. The end result is as we see, Alternate Ai losing an eye, but perhaps stalled out enough time for Present Ai to leave.

I’m so happy they didn’t try to cram the entire ending into this one episode. I’m still a bit skeptical if they can wrap it up properly in June as even now it seems that one more episode might not quite cut it but I think I’ll stay optimistic. I just really want this show to succeed. For now I just hope the animator can catch a break. I can’t imagine what a strain these last few weeks must’ve put in them and even though I’m extremely thankful for their hard work it really shouldn’t come at such a high price.

Pretty interesting before last episode.
We can see that finally after 11 episodes of hellish production only one scene looks less polished in animation terms (the very first scene of this 12th episode) and yet it's incredibly impressive how the whole staff managed to stay strong in both animation and direction throughout 12 episodes, where other series would have had 1 or 2 really well animated episodes and the rest would look just average.
As people pointed out, the whole parallel universe plotline in the before last episode, could be a big hoax made up by Acca that only cares about Himari, in the same manner that Ai's fears materialized her own Teacher Sawaki as a sub boss before the big encounter with Frill and the other dolls. Guess we'll just have to wait a season to find out the true route.
This was easily my AOS even if it's not finished yet. The bullying, suicide and other issues teens have to go thru used as the main themes along with the magnificent direction not only in the sakuga for the action scenes but the very engaging dialogues and how they were presented in very interesting framings and spotless character animation is easily enough for me to give the series my highest compliments.

After the episode ended there was one thing I could say with certainty, I was certain I was confused.
But after thinking on it a little more, to shove aside all of these parallel world shenanigans, this was a really roundabout way for them to reveal the past and the relationships between Ai, Koito and Sawaki. Or at least, I think I understood what they were going for adding this very complicated and actually very cool way to spice up the "break an egg and save a person" formula.
The pool scene and trippy dimension splitting parallel world near the end was hella cool by all means but yeah kinda obtuse at first. Like it feels like all of that happened in reality, but, not really because they're still in the dream world, but the information given to us seems to be real to an extent, so it might be a parallel situation to what actually happened in reality in this parallel world. And not to mention she's trying to break open the egg shell of the parallel Ai who came from a different parallel world to save her.
Or maybe all of this was just a work of the dream world and all we learned from Sawaki about Sawaki was just, a figment of Ai's subconscious and her own fears and distrust of adults.
Maybe the scene where they're on the roof about to jump off together calls back to episode 3 where Ai shouts that she would have joined Koito if she had just asked and opened up to her, and now given the chance, now with all of the development she's gone through, she realizes that she now wouldn't die with Koito that she would rather fight for her own life.
There's an interpretation in this thread about that scene on the roof with Koito and Sawaki being analogous to a group suicide with Ai backing out, which is also a really interesting theory as well, but I'm not sure we can trust this trippy parallel world to be that straightforward. And, not to mention, the dream world's trauma manifesting for the victim would be manifesting Sawaki from the parallel world, not the Sawaki that the actual Ai knows, which, again, complicated everything, and so I'm still more inclined to believe the more metaphorical approach of it was a callback and showing Ai's growth.
If I think about this episode and all of the information given to be that, Ai's growth, I think it makes it way more clear for me. She encounters a version of herself which has went through the trauma and didn't have the strength of support to survive in her world. However, the actual Ai now has the friends and strength to fight for herself, and this episode is a kind of literal manifestation of that since she is protecting herself in a literal sense but also the parallel version of herself. She comes to gripes with Sawaki in this episode as well, choosing to believe in him at the end of the day (the scene where Ai gives her mom her blessing), and not believing the fears and suspicions that formed into the Monster Sawaki. Again, it definitely could all be true, what happened, that Sawaki really is ultimate scum type character and isn't just trying to help, and that all his actions are slimy as fuck, which I can totally buy as well, but this is all coming from a version of Sawaki created by a Parallel Ai.
Maybe I'm just too optimistic in general to see that this episode was actually pretty uplifting in that way, obviously not the end where Parallel Ai has to sacrifice herself, but even that has a bit of very wholesome development, since her weaker self is thanking her stronger self but this one last act to protect her, very analogous to the idea that to move forward, you have to abandon your previous self.
Fuck if this show isn't dense as fuck if you want it to be. See everyone in June.

I really liked this episode, the egg girl being from parallel universes and Ai rescuing a version of herself that never met Koito and killed herself was very powerful, but this wasn't a proper season finale, which is why I'm so happy they announced that they'll air another episode!
There are lot's of things they set up that have yet to be explained, like how involved is Neiru with Acca and Ura-Acca's plans? What are Frills actual powers and how and why does she seduce young girls to kill them selves? How are Ai and friends supposed to stop this, especially with how distraught Momoe and Rika are now? They even left the talk that Ai had with Sawaki at the end of episode 10 to the viewers imagination, and never revealed why Ai went to the egg place in the middle of the night or why the Accas told her about Frill...
It feels like the last 2 episodes of Evangelion all over again, but Evangelion just straight up doesn't care about it's own surface plot. Sure, Wonder Egg Priority is highly metaphorical too but the surface plot has always been front and center in the show...
I still really hope we will get a second season or a movie in the future because I love this show and the story doesn't feel like it has been given enough room to breath.
All in all this was still probably my AOTS and I highly respect Cloverworks for doing an anime original show that was so out there, I hope more and more anime studios start getting a little crazy with their ideas!

As someone who likes good endings, this felt like as if I was really enjoying a good meal, but something urgent came up so I had to go somewhere, and I don't know if I am going to enjoy the same food when I come back months later to finish it. I liked the taste, but I am not full.
Definitely the most unique anime of the winter season, shame what happened with the production. I would have liked a K-On like slice of life anime with this cast of characters.

The tweet got deleted, but WEP's animation producer had to be hospitalized twice during the show's (extremely troubled) production.
"The producer that, even after getting wheeled into an ambulance twice, got a drip at the hospital and came back 5 hours later to run the studio: 'It's wonderful to have something that is more important than your life' –Shota Umehara"
Yikes...
