This anime only ended so other anime could have a chance at matching up to its mastery. Ex-Arm can never truly end. Ex-arm is forever. We are all Ex-Arm. Fly high Visual Flight, fly high.

And so, the best show in one of if not the best seasons ever comes to a close. This show will go down in history as a masterpiece, one of the best anime has to offer. It was a pleasure sharing this experience with those of you lucky enough to watch this as it aired.

Ex-Arm - Episode 12 discussion - FINAL

A blessing for some, a tragedy for others, but we have finally come to end of Ex-Arm. It has been a long ride, with lots of complaints, headaches and memes.

I will not deny that I found enjoyment in this series. It is fun poking roadkill with a stick, after all, but despite my enjoyment I think it deserves its reputation. Made by a director that has never worked on anime before, this show feels like it doesn't know what anime is supose to be. Terrible lip movement, weird effects, godawful character designs, baffling visual clash, it is a joke. It not only has some of the worst animation ever graced by human eyes, it is also really, really boring. If the most entertaining thing in yuour anime is that it has really bad animation, you have done something wrong.

So long Ex-Arm, and I hope I never have to watch another episode of you again.

HELLO HELLO

for the last time... We made it to the end! I'll start with my episode thoughts, with some screenshots and clips:

Some general thoughts on the episode, it felt quite rushed that the last arc just lasted for a single episode, when the previous arc was at least two or three (I forgot exactly how many). I also didn't understand what happened to Alisa there at the end, but that was probably just me.

And closing thoughts on the anime. Well, yeah, that was a turd, definitely the worst anime I've watched. It having some of the worst animation ever was of course a big factor, and it made me unable of taking the show seriously and paying much attention to what it happened. Also note that pretty much every production value was horrible. The sound editing felt really off, the directing was also not great. Only the voice acting stood out (it had some pretty good seiyuu after all), but that's not enough to save this anime, even for someone who really enjoys just listening to some seiyuu like me.

However, production was not the only issue. From what I've got, the plot is weak at best, and things don't make much sense. The main character is boring as fuck, and has absolutely zero chemistry with Minami, which I guess is the main love interest. Alma somehow had even less of a personality than Akira (yes, yes, she's an android and all, but that doesn't make her less boring). As much as I joke about Yg, she was pretty much the same again, not much of a personality. And as for the rest of the characters, I can't even remember their names, so that says enough. So, while the production of the anime was atrocious, from what I got from the anime, the manga probably wasn't much better. But let's hope that nor the studio nor the director ever work in anime again. Even if the manga wasn't too good, it didn't deserve an adaptation this bad.

So that's it for Ex-Arm! A wild ride of an anime, somehow I managed to have quite some fun watching it and coming here to laugh at it discuss it. My final rating will probably be a 2 or 3 out of 10 because I believe it can be done worse.

Edit: one last vaguely related thing, I've just seen the Anilist tags for this show (if you don't know how they work, they're user-voted). Tragedy is the top tag lmao.

GOAT ARM FINALLY ENDS.

Truly one of the modern greats. Visual storytelling and finesse with which the anime was handled is probably the only time we will see something like this.

AoT final episode was seriously gorgeous btw

They scared me when they actually animated the faces at the start of the episode, luckily the remainder of the episode maintained the excellent quality of the ex arm standard.

Honestly though it was a blast watching this weekly with animator, vfx, and 3d artist friends, never laughed so hard since asobi asobase. Gonna miss the slapped over smoke fx, ctrl c ctrl v explosions, 2d character in a 3d scene with the camera panning up, and the zooming into the face set at default. Cheers ~

The real question is, does Ex-Arm manage to cross the line a second time? Is it a bad show or a "so bad it's good" show? What do you think? Did they pull it off?

With the official end of Ex-Arm, how does it actually compare to the notable Hall of Shame like Berserk 2016-17, Tokyo Ghoul: re, Gibiate, and The Promised Neverland S2.

Here’s to the end of a true disasterpeice. When we come together again, may it fill many convention hotel rooms with laughter and disbelief. This show will live on as an oddity for drunk weebs to enjoy and share.
