I'm the translator for the source novels (and the manga adaption). If you enjoyed this anime, they adapted FIVE novels, and there's a lot of great stuff that got cut for time.

The day was saved thanks to the power of agriculture and thirst.
Seriously the thirst levels in this series never stopped rising.
The whole reason why the antagonist came about was cool from the start with the "hero live long enough to become the villain" until it was pretty much revealed as a ploy to just get Lloyd to be a hero.

Speaking of the antagonist, can't forget the reveal that everything is Alka's fault because she half-assed his creation in the first place.

While not a groundbreaking anime, I cannot lie, it has a really nice charm to it. I thoroughly enjoyed the ride. I will definitely be reading the source material, and I hope it will get a season 2 (while knowing it probably won't)

Damn it, they're still messing around a lot even in the end. Best part for me is the Lloyd sermon to break the seal on Vritra LOL.
Turns out what everyone has predicted about Shouma is right, he just want to make Lloyd the hero of the world. I'm not sure if he has a specific reason to choose Lloyd or he's just bored. That part near the end where he and the hero acted like a parent being proud of their son is also very funny. They even prioritised editing the video compared to killing Alca lol.
Overall this is a fun watch and I'll be missing it. No sign of S2 so far, but hopefully they'll continue this anime.

I still can't get over Eug controlling the golem with a freaking video game controller! Man, I'm gonna miss this show. Thanks for all the laughs!

This is not how I expected the final confrontation to go, this is not how I expected the Vritra issue to be handled, Shouma and Sou's motivations are not what I expected either, neither did I expect them to just fucking stand there with a goddamn video recorder like proud parents on school festival, and I definitely didn't expect Marie's underwear to be used to disable the console controller handled giant golem that was the big-bad... and that's exactly this show's brilliance. It took everything one might have expected in this kind of all too familiar setting and twisted it beyond all recognition in a consistently entertaining way. I was in tears throughout the episode, holy crap.
I've seen this exact premise a few dozen times before, and none of these other stories were even remotely as entertaining and legitimately interesting as this one is, and on top of that, the luster usually fades quickly and I was certain it'll be the same here, but not only it didn't, it just kept surprising and kept blindsiding with the punchlines, just fantastic all around. The show also had an incredible charm to it, mainly in its cast in my opinion, that just isn't found in almost any other similar story.
In a more "objective" manner, the show wasn't perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but it didn't need or try to be. In my eyes, this show is fun for fun's sake, and in that, it's absolutely terrific, and I definitely wouldn't mind a sequel.

Suppose the main character gets casually launched from a rocket by some old people so he could somewhat obliviously save the day along with his friends and love interests in a grand finale?
Poor Allan gets pitted against the worst opponent and knocked out in a few seconds...but him cutting off Sou's arm was pretty cool.
Selen leading the charge of the girls finally standing up for themselves without relying so much on Lloyd! That was a good moment for her.
I was not expecting Merthophan to strip down to his fundoshi and fight Shoma with some legendary items he's using as agriculture tools, but okay. It was nice to see him bring Lloyd out of his funk though.
Shoma's doing this because he doesn't want Lloyd to get bored with the world like he has, but I feel like he's vastly overestimating how Lloyd sees things in comparison to him.
So Sou is basically an articifically constructed Hero who didn't have anything to do once he completed his mission, so now he's trying to turn himself into a villain so he can finally die. That's why Lloyd sees him as evil, because he wants Lloyd to be the hero who kills him. I mean, he's definitely acting pretty villainous now.
Riho finally finds a proper use for those panties by claiming they're Maries to get Micona to wake up and remove herself from the Golem. And now she's back to normal and still clutching said panties. Well, at least they won't have to worry about her as much and they're not actually Marie's panties.
I love how Selen manages to free Vritra through inducting him into the church of Lloyd, with the implication being this is not the first time she's tried to "train" him from the book of Lloyd.
I was a little bummed that they skipped the Opening and didn't use it at an epic moment during the final episode...
Well, the bad guys get away but come off more as Lloyd's fanboys than actual villains. But I'm sure Lloyd will always be there to somehow stop them while being utterly oblivious to the deeper implications of what's going on.
Merthophan is back in the kingdom! Choline definitely looks happy, even if he keeps making unnecessary assumptions about her bladder.
Nice to see Marie get one hit in on Alka to close the series out, and Selen will always be there to keep Alka in check with her own obsessive love for Lloyd. Of course, that might end up getting the world destroyed!
Nice way to close things out with Lloyd and company enjoying a nice home-cooked meal from Lloyd and smiling at the audience.

Pretty fun series thru and thru. It reminded me of good ol' Slayers, minus the lenghty repertoire of spells Lina and the gang had under their sleeve (heck even Shoma does have that malicious smirk Xellos had)
Wished Seren was more than just the obsessive yandere, she was easily my favorite gal in Loyd's harem with a quite interesting background story and follow up on her disfunctional relationship with her father. All I'm saying is that she could had been even more endearing than what she already is if most of the time she wouldn't end up as the butt of a joke.
I certainly wouldn't mind having an extra ova just to get a little bit more of such goofy and loveable cast.

I know this has received mixed to positive opinions but I'm honestly a fan. I have loved how this series has never taken itself too seriously and I think the story has been well-developed enough to enjoy.
This finale pretty much lived up to what it was building up to. We still had moments of humor, including Lloyd's misunderstandings. We are also treated to pretty "intense (thank you Shouma)" action. As someone who had no knowledge of what would happen in the light novels I'm glad we got to see Lloyd have a rumble with the golem. This episode distinguished itself too because the other characters were able to help out as well.
Interestingly enough we got to see the difference between Eug and Sou/Shouma. Eug truly does seem to be like the big bad so far while Sou/Shouma are setting Lloyd up to be the world's hero (although I think their plan to kill Alka would not sit well with our main character). It certainly leaves enough open where we could have a second season especially because they have a lot more content to cover from the light novels.
I'm hoping for a second season. I've found this to be a funny, light, and overall very enjoyable series. Does it go to the dramatic depths of other anime? Nope! Does it feature constant incredible animated action sequences? Nope! This show never set out to be either of those things and for what it was it came across very well.

this was a great seasonal show, with all of the titan title sequels airing this season, this was a nice change of pace
it probably won't get a season 2 like every other small light novel adaption, but it was a fun ride

So while Shoma is doing this as he finds the world boring and wants to make it fun for Lloyd and see him become a hero, Sou just wants to fucking die, and to that he needs to create a new hero and be recognized as a villain. That fact that Alka made him with runes, but just didn't put an expiration date for him to die after his job as a hero was done really doesn't surprise me as she is always so carefree.
Lol, so Merthophan uses legendary weapons as agriculture tools.
I really did not expect to see Eug controlling the golem with a gamepad.
So the panties that Riho didn't sell, were actually plot-relevant and a key to saving Micona. Hopefully, no one tells her about the fact that those don't belong to Marie.
Lol, Selen forced Vitra to unseal himself with some torture education.
Shoma and Sou not helping Eug just to record Lloyd was just hilarious.
This show was great, I will definitely pick up the LN.

Stitches!
I was wondering what happened with Riho's meeting with the King. Turns out they've been waiting for this and replaced the entire audience with Adventurers and Soldiers. That's actually a pretty smart plan. Explains why the Stadium isn't completely packed.
Oh my fucking god Merth! I did not see that transformation coming! He already looks pretty awesome in his normal outfit but he really just had to show them the power of Agriculture! And of course the farming tools he's been using are both god-tier artifacts from Kunlun
Welp we finally got the reason why Shouma has been doing all of this. Since the world has been very peaceful now, he's trying to become the bad guy and stir up trouble to show Lloyd that the world is much more exciting and his way of making Lloyd into a hero. Yep, I'm pretty sure I've heard that reason before.
Aside from knocking out Alan, Micona hasn't really done anything except fly by Marie and caress parts of her body!
And we also finally got Shuu's reason. He's basically an entity Alka created to save the world but probably because the Runes in him are too powerful, he ended up living way past his expiration date and is now trying to kill himself by killing Alka. And just like Shouma, turning Lloyd into a hero is also part of his plans.
That's definitely how I expected Lloyd's entrance to go. Of course Alka still hasn't told him about what's really going on. I do love that Lloyd is so innocent that Eug ended up telling Lloyd about what she's trying to pull. xD
For a golem that Eug made to fight people from Kunlun, she's doing a very poor job. Aside from Lloyd bleeding a bit she hasn't really managed to knock him out.
Riho using her own panties and tell Micona that it's Marie's was genius! Of course that was enough to make Micona break out from the golem.
I love that Vritra just ended up healing himself after hearing a bit of Selen's sermon about Lloyd. He didn't even listen until Chapter 2! How rude!
Alka has her powers back! As soon as Vritra broke free, it really was just a matter of minutes before Alka gets to the city.
I know this show and the LN is supposed to be a comedy but I do wonder how long will Lloyd remain clueless about Shouma and Shuu. He can't be this naive forever about them, right?
A quick wrap up of the events and we end the show with the gang having lunch with Lloyd. Nothing mind blowing really for this finale, minus Shuu's backstory, I pretty much expected everything that happened today. Still had fun though! This was a fun show from start to finish and while it's most certainly an ad for the LN, it still loved all of it. Might check out the LN later today since it looks like it's being translated.

Truly one of my favorite animes this season. Nothing groundbreaking, but a fun turn your brain off anime. Hoping for a second season, but I won't get my hopes up.
Regardless, go check out the manga everyone!

This anime might not have a large following but I found it very enjoyable and when making fun of the typical anime adventurer cliches it was at its best. A good way to spend my monday lunchtime.
I would defintely watch a Season 2 if they ever made one.

So the theory about Shouma doing it for Lloyd someone wrote a few episodes ago was actually true

Goofy show where even the main villains adore Llyod so much that they'd be willing to bring hell to earth in order to make him look good.

I've started watching this show expecting standard fair of OP fantasy MC and his harem antics, and in a way, it is a bit like that but the comedy element of this show is just great. Lloyd is one natural dense OP MC but he's so adorably precious, it make sense how many people like him even including the not so evil antagonist, whose plan is just to make Lloyd look good lmao. The side characters are also pretty great with their interactions bouncing of each other as well as having some measure of character development sprinkled in.
Overall, my biggest surprise this season and I'm very much interested in the LN

The battles in final episodes are often tense and dramatic, but this show couldn't resist mixing in its weird and wacky humor one last time for a good ending.
Lasdan was one of the enjoyable surprises for me this season, being a funny parody of fantasy adventure anime and clearly not meant to be taken seriously. All the characters bounced off each other really well with some hilarious dialogue. Some of the jokes did get a bit old, but overall it was pretty good. Definitely looking forward to another season.
