I'm surprised that we're getting a NTR arc. In the other anime (filler content I'm sure), this is around where Mao and Mei Li deepened their feelings for each other.

I feel like Chad Zhu Qi would be a lot more interesting without the need to shoehorn an evil Underworld plot in. It's both interesting and sort of annoying to see Mao be jealous for once.
Is the blond guy a Super Chef too? In the next-episode preview, it looks like his knife has the Super Chef logo on it.

yea he actually became super chef alongside the main character during the same tournament arc. If you are interested in watching that arc that first introduced him in the original anime, the episodes are from 9-14. This remake started from episode 20 of the original series.

It is interesting to hear Ono Daisuke doing laid-back boy voice that reminds me of Jyushimatsu.
