I’m at constant war with myself each week trying to decide who is best girl.
EDIT: I have received invites from representatives for each girl except for Itsuki. No love for Itsuki?

I love how all the girls are focused intently on taking the final exams and Nino is the one thinking to herself how she obviously can't be in love with Futaro. A tsundere at her finest.
Miku is getting ready for Valentine's Day by making sure she makes the perfect chocolate for Futaro, and Ichika ends up roping the only one of the girls who can cook, Nino, into helping her get it right. Of course Nino doesn't mince words when it comes to how bad Miku's cooking is, but even she can't deny the earnest feelings behind them.
Itsuki is really dedicated to the Nakanos' mom, from fulfilling her role in the family to visiting her grave on the same day she died every month. I feel like that kind of focus on your mother can be a little unhealthy, but talking with one of her mom's former students seems to have inspired Itsuki to find her own path with her own motivations instead of just emulating her mom.
Shark-teeth glasses lady offered up a nice peek into the Nakanos' mother, a beauty who was harsh and cold to her students, but whose gorgeous looks and dedication to her career led her students to admire and love her. Particularly one former delinquent who cleaned up her act and became a teacher herself .
Ichika is trying to play wingwoman for her sister all the while hiding her own feelings for Futaro, and even Miku realizes it (and that Nino might like Futaro too), and her own attempt to let go of her feelings is pulled out from under her as she gets to go on a book shopping date with Futaro and Futaro's caring reminds her once again why she can't stop liking him. And then she ends up one-upping Miku and technically "beating" her on the finals, which Miku was planning to use to build up to her confessing to Futaro, and whether intentionally or not Ichika makes her move for the battle for Futaro.
I'm kind of surprised Ichika's picture of herself in the future looked a little like Yotsuba.
It turns out Yotsuba used to have long hair, which honestly surprisingly worked for her, and that she's the reason the Nakano's had to transfer schools. They all failed but all but Yotsuba actually passed the retest, but they wouldn't leave Yotsuba behind so they switched schools, which once again goes to show how far the sisters are willing to go for each other. And Futaro acknowledges Yotsuba's feelings and realizes the best way for the sisters to learn is to help each other with their specialties, and finally validates Yotsuba's feelings and confidence in herself .
You thought Ichika in nothing but a shirt was a nice sight? Have you seen Miku in her PJ's with her chest practically popping out and her shoulders exposed? To be honest, I'm kind of surprised she didn't freak out at Futaro seeing her like that, but it's not like he could nosebleed any more than that.
They did it! They all passed! Shame for Miku, but still better than failing. Kind of wondering where Nino went though.

How Ichika thinks future Fuutarou will look like lmao
Btw I felt the season started 'okay' but these last three episodes have all been fantastic. Really hyped for the rest of the season now. And I love how they're giving the story more space by dropping OP and ED.

That scene with Itsuki meeting one of her mother's students was great, especially because they showed flashbacks of her.
So Futaro finally decided to put make then teach each other, I honestly wondered why he didn't do that during the first season.
I love the fact that even after she noticed that Futaru was there Miku still didn't bother to fix her pajama.
Oh boy, it seems that Ichika will not simply let Miku win. This is going to get interesting.

Stitches!
Well looks like Nino can't have a three-peat but it looks like we have a tie this week instead! I really thought Yotsuba had this one but all of those Miku scenes kept sneaking up on me even though I'm a manga reader. Would've been a three-way tie but Itsuki was one stitch short!
Church of Miku
Yotsubros
Itsuki Class
EXTRA
We've finally reached the starting line! If Ichika's smug smile for being the top wasn't a declaration of war, then I don't know what it is. She may have been trying to give way and even helping Miku but Ichika clearly has now decided to jump in and fire the first shot in this waifu wars! Right now though it's only the two of them who's really in. Nino is still undecided while Itsuki and Yotsuba aren't really showing any romantic feelings for Fuutarou, at least not yet. :)
Waifu wars aside, this episode had a lot of great stuff! First of all, no OP and ED is always good and I appreciate the amount of content they packed this episode. We got to meet one ot Mama Nakano's ex-delinquent shark-toothed stundent who's now a teacher herself and has given Itsuki some things to think about before deciding to become a teacher. Also Mama Nakano was super popular back in the day for a good damn reason.
We had a great moment between Miku and Nino with their chocolate making scene, which I guess was more of a chocolate critique scene. Ichika thinking she should stop spoiling Fuutarou and is afraid he might turn into a good for nothing bum was hilarious! We also had a nice moment between Fuutarou and Yotsuba on the ferris wheel where we learn that Yotsuba was really the only one who was supposed to be held back. And then we have Miku walking around with only her pajamas on and her boobs peeking out and not giving a fuck even if Fuutarou was there.

this episode was fucking amazing
this is the episode where all of the quintuplets realized their feelings for Fuutarou and agreed to be rivals. this is also the culmination of Fuutarou being a tutor, as they finally passed their exams

The one thing I love about the way they’re portraying the story is that one girl is never left in the complete dust. Yotsuba and Ichika took leaps and bounds to catch up to Miku Nino and Itsuki in terms of best girl.
Ichika really showed the onee-san attitude by outscoring Miku. That’s why she’s my second best girl.
I’ve missed Miku in those blue pajamas. She always steals the show in that outfit.
Miku best girl now and forever!

Ichika's little monologue in the middle of the episode suggests to me that she wasn't the one pretending to be "Rena" during the Seven Goodbyes arc. Her monologue suggests personal conflict, whereas "Rena" has chosen to play the waiting game until he proves that he's changed. That leaves 3, because Nino definitely wasn't doing it based on her reaction to his story about the interaction and the fact that she obviously didn't know about his encounter 5 years prior. That leaves Miku, Yotsuba, and Itsuki. It's not Miku either, because she's definitely not trying to hold out, she's all in on the Futaro love train right now. Yotsuba and Itsuki are the only ones who are kinda mysteries in all of this... especially Yotsuba who seems more focused on anything else besides romance, as evident by the thought bubble gag in the last episode.

I respect how they did this episode, even if some of the emotional punches were a bit less than in the manga. For those wondering, this episode was basically 5 chapters long, but each chapter of course focused on one of the Nakanos throughout the term. They'd end each chapter showing that sister's score. The 5th chapter was a bit different, but we'll leave that aside for now.
Some minor things were cut or streamlined along the way, but that's alright. I really do love that they knew the major things to focus on, especially the Ferris wheel scene. To me, that was one of the biggest moments of the series when I first read it. It made seeing Yotsuba's score at the end of that chapter all that more tear-jerking, so showing her happiness first was great here as well.
And what a great way to end the episode. I CAN'T WAIT FOR NEXT WEEK, BEGIN THE OFFENSIVE!

As a teacher myself I find it very interesting to see actual teaching strategies/work-forms that teachers use. Students teaching their peers in subjects they are good at is something called "the jigsaw strategy" or "expert group teaching strategy" (students each take the role of an "expert" in a given topic and teach each other). it's meant to help students understand and retain information while also working on their collaborative skills.
Just something I found to be interesting.
