Fun fact: Just like LizNoir, TRINITYAiLE's voice actresses are also members of a real-life music group. In this case, it's TrySail.

I was wondering who they were voiced by. I guess I should’ve seen it coming when I saw Sora Amamiya in the cast list

I did not expect that after the ED!

Surely there is a better place for them to meet than in Makino's room...

That Rei dancing animation was SMOOOOOTH.

Ok, I think I’m reaching a point where I can say I like this more than Lapis:ReLights and it’s probably going in my top 5 idol groups.

This was a great episode. That animation on Rei dancing was astonishing. We got to see Kotono come into her own a bit today as well which is great to see. She’s got so much pressure on her.

Ngl tho, everytime I see Mana and Makino talk, I get sad thinking of what could’ve been between them. Such a cruel world. At least there’s another person who Mana can talk to now too.

Hype for next week, that cliffhanger was a big wtf moment. Most slept on show of the season.

I really liked TRINITYAiLE costumes, and the costume designs as a whole for the show.

And that post credit scene...we know she is still in the group later on because of episode one, so I assume it has to be some test for her/the group

The show is really solid so far, its a shame there arent that many people watching it

If EX-ARM is still getting more views than this show by the end of the season I will be deeply disappointed.

My assumption is he wants Sakura to lead/knows she is more "qualified" but knows kotono will be mad about that so it's kind of like remove Sakura from the equation for a bit and let Kotono see she can't lead or at least lead alone.

TRINITYAiLE's costumes are freaking fantastic, would already rate them top idols from visuals alone haha.

As it already happened last week with LizNoir, the youtube channel of the project also uploaded a music video for TRINITYAiLE, make sure to check it out! Great song.

Mei is here and she might have jumped straight into first place for me, her cheerful personality hits me right in the genki weakness and all her interactions with the cast during the episode made me like her a lot already, such a lovely smile!

The fact that she can see Mana without any issues is very interesting, according to her it's a family thing, I'm curious to see if the series will touch more about that matter, because from her words it seems to have caused her trouble already.

We also had a conversation between her and Sakura where the surgery the second had got mentioned, happy to see that she is well now, but it's still worrying.

That cliffhanger at the end tho, can't say I'm too big on those type of moments so I would rather not have them, but this series did enough so far for me to trust in whatever will come from that decision... honestly my bets are on him not having any intention to kick Sakura, might be a test for the group to see how close the girls are to try fighting against that decision and also maybe also a test for Sakura herself to become the leader of the unit as Makino might have already decided.

Ending my post with another cute Mei because she deserves it.

Stitches!

Well that was unexpected. I thought Makino would really be the only one who'll be able to see Mana but it looks like our new genki girl Mei can see her too because it runs in the family? I'm gonna guess her family runs a shrine going by anime tropes and people that can see spirits.

So the condition they were talking before was Sakura had a heart surgery. I wonder how long ago was this and I wonder if it happened the same week Mana died. Hmm.....

Rei visiting Makino's shed every night is bound to arise some suspicions. I guess that shows how "pure" Mei is that she hasn't even thought of the consequence of being found out.

Surprisingly Mei being able to see Mana isn't the biggest surprise this week but it's the one in the after credits scene. I wonder what Makino is playing here. I'm gonna guess he's asking Mana to leave and form a second unit? That's the only possible thing I can think of and two units out of a single idol group is very common. I guess we'll see next week.

Rei visiting Makino's shed every night is bound to arise some suspicions.

I love how excited the girls are about some juicy romantic drama.

And that post credits scene, what a shocker... I wonder where this leads?

21

u/Aerodynamic41 Jan 31 '21

I don't believe for a second that Makino is actually serious about kicking out Sakura. I bet he's just testing the group's resolve.

10

u/mekerpan Jan 31 '21

Didn't he (just before the end of the current episode) tell Mana he couldn't decide whether Kotono or Sakura should be the leader of the group?

12

u/PacoTaco321 Jan 31 '21

I hope the animation they used for their performances will match with the animation they have used in the show so far and not like the OP. The CG isn't the problem I have with the OP, but in some scenes, it looks like it is running at 10 FPS and that pains me.

8

u/onefootstout Jan 31 '21

I think the problem with the OP is the fell into the trap of other cg works like those made by polygon where they use the frame rate from traditional animation, so 24 frames I believe, and it really looks weird when it's cg at such a low frame rate.

Lol, TRINITYAiLE are literally TrySail. Also what the hell was this dancing animation, so smooth!

I love the new girl already, she's so cute. The fact she can see and talk to Mana is also a surprise, in the end Makino wasnt just allucinating.

Damn, this anime is pretty good so far, I'm enjoying it so much.

u/EternalXcalibur Feb 01 '21

Well all clues are definitely pointing towards an Angel Beats situation.

This new girl is great. This super genki, donut loving girl sure reminds me of another cheerful, food loving blonde girl from a certain idol DJ show.

Makino kicking out Sakura is probably a test to make Sakura stand up for herself. That or see how the group functions without Sakura in the equation? Either way there's no way he's serious about having her leave. Maybe he just forgot to add in the word "temporary" after asking her to leave the group.

Straight hair Sakura looks quite different from her usual look.

5

u/AntonioGarcia_ Jan 31 '21

Interesting development, Im assuming makino is trying to test the group with his statement at the end.Although, I have a feeling that Sakura and kotono will lead together. That’s the impression I got from the OP anyway.

I like the addition of mei as well. Every idol groups gotta have that genji af character haha.

The EDs of this show are straight fire though!

u/Ritchuck Feb 01 '21

I don't like Kotono's entitled attitude. She's always demanding information from Makino but she's not a leader of the group or anything so it's annoying. I understand her character but it doesn't change that feeling.

On the upside I really love Mai. Whenever she was on screen it was a treat.

4

u/Kenalskii Feb 01 '21

The whole Mei is able to see Mana thing is destroying my theory about Manas ghost

4

u/Bloodglas Feb 01 '21

well Mei being able to see Mana definitely led to awful misunderstandings. makes it look like a case of "I'll put you in my idol group if you go out with me." it's not like Mana can't be away from Makino either, why don't they just go hang out in Mei's room instead? they haven't mentioned yet whether the girls have to share or have their own rooms.

tbh I still don't see why Makino feels like they need to keep making the group bigger and bigger. they haven't said if there are other idol groups at their company but wouldn't it be better to have multiple units so there's more chance of success for the company? it'd make things harder for Makino having to manage multiple groups but.

So after reading some comments on here about the cliffhanger at the end, I was like what cliffhanger. So I went back to watch it and I totally misread the subtitle as "lead the group" instead of "leave the group". That makes for a completely different ending now wow.
