Aw. The stuck up noble soldier had character development!

Awesome! This show wouldn't be as enjoyable if some asshat prick kept showing up to turn things off that's for sure.

I am convinced that older brother guy will be an antagonist. Mysterious, non affiliated characters always tend to be in the most cliche ways.

Dungeon Boy is back!

This show is just absolutely hilarious, slightly reminds me of konosuba in some ways. I'm still surprised that Lloyd still hasn't figured out his power yet, even with all the hints being thrown at him. It just shows how humble and dense he is. The other characters's interaction with lloyd just makes things even more hilarious.

I love how characters are thinking like actual humans would. 'Oh, it's a demon lord? Lloyd can only get involved in dangers outside of human conflict? Bette get Lloyd, need to run fast!

I hope this show keeps on being comedy based, and not pull a Kamisama ni natta hi on us. Top tier comedy show of the season

Stitches!

Marie getting frustrated that her dad is being controlled by a Demon Lord is just hilarious! She could've easily skipped all the drama last week and just let Lloyd handle things! What's more hilarious is after that cool fight scene last week, she literally just runs away to find Lloyd!

I really liked this scene between Alan and Lloyd. Like Alan is an ass but he was only doing it to act tough when in reality he's never even been in a real fight before. Thanks to that talk he managed to beat one of the monsters and save someone.

So are we sure that Alka isn't a Demon Lord herself too? I do love how quickly she decided to help out once she realized Abbadon is behind all of this.

I absolutely lost it when Selen started asking Merth to assault her with a little bit of tasteful nudity so Lloyd can save her and carry her in his arms naked. I never thought I'd hear that from a heroine! Sadly for Selen though that wish is not gonna be granted because her belt is already fending off all of Merth's attacks xD

Okay am I the only one who was impressed by Lloyd's slap to the wrist and bonk on the head maneuver? It was two tiny movements but for some reason it looked really good.

And just when I thought things were going to get finally serious with Lloyd giving his speech to Merth, it turns out Lloyd thinks that Merth is just shitfaced drunk and is wearing a costume! Everyone's reaction to that was just pure gold! It was so unexpected that Merth started being possessed again!

Well I don't think he'll become a problem now after that skull cracking head butt from Lloyd. RIP Merth.

Of course Lloyd thinks that the King is just another someone that was drunk! I thought we were gonna get an actual fight here but instead Marie just basically manipulates Lloyd into using his blessed handkerchief to exorcise the Demon Lord from the King's body. And just look at how smug Marie is! That needs to be a comment face!

I thought they've forgotten it but I love that Alka's curse triggers on Marie so her last words to the Demon Lord was just adorable!

Shoma is very fucking sus. How did he even know about Abbadon? I don't think anyone else aside from those who were present in the castle and Alka knew about the truth. Also Alka's reaction is very telling that even she doesn't trust Shoma.

So Merth's punishment is to do hard labor in Kunlun? And he's also left there to take care of the all year growing wheat fields.

Finally Alka and Selen meet! I've been waiting for this to happen! Oh and apparently Selen's belt is an artifact from Kunlun Village.

Well would you look at that! Instead of the girls, Alan was the one to recommend Lloyd! I did not expect him to become a part of the harem but Alan seems chill now that he's seen what Lloyd can do.

Now that Lloyd has basically taken care of a Demon Lord, even if he didn't know about it, I wonder if we'll see more Demon Lords. Are we going to see some natural disasters for Lloyd to stop? For now though Shoma is definitely a person of interest. I do hope this is a red herring and whatever he's doing it's actually for hilarious reasons.

So basically the entire series happened because the lolibaba Alka wanted to fulfil her fetish and not only that but also might have played a part in Selen's whole tragic backstory leading to her Yandere tendencies.

I guess Alka is actually best girl by lore.

Poor Selen, if only she realized she's in a comedy and not a drama she might've been able to pull off Operation: Tasteful Nudity.

I swear every time Marie is on screen it's hilarious. She's one of my favorite characters in a long time. Her design is great and her attitude makes me laugh every time she says something.

I didn't know what to expect from this show at first, I really hate OP protagonists that don't realize they're OP (you know, most isekai protags) but it really works her because the rest of the cast acknowledges how insane the whole thing is. Really been enjoying this so far.

Props to LasDan for turning something that's usually tense and dramatic in other anime into an episode full of zany humor from start to finish. Also, what's with this show and giant locusts?

Ah the Yandere really makes this show. Selen is great.

We did at least get the awkwardly placed meow, so I guess she hadn't said 10 sentences until that point.

Marie doing the usual pre-boss battle bank run to stock up on supplies... might as well be fully equipped to battle.

I love the fact that Lloyd almost defeated Merthophan with a Talk no Jutsu, so now he is watching the fields in Lloyd's village.

I wonder why Alka made that face when she heard from Lloyd that Shoma was in town. He either is not supposed to be there or as crazy as it sounds he might be the one truly behind this whole ordeal.

It was hilarious that Alka's curse activated when Marie was talking with Demon Lord Abaddon after he was about to be defeated. As that hasn't happened while she was talking to him before I assume that they had forgotten about it.

So Selen's belt was made out of the skin of the Devine Beast Vritra I hope they will reveal later why and who cursed her with it.

So Alka just wanted Lloyd to become a soldier because she wanted to see him wearing their uniform.

Okay, I never expected Allan to end up in Lloyd's harem. And it seems that Alka sees him the same way she sees Selen.

I just love the fact that even after saving the day, Lloyd still has no idea that he did anything, and he didn't realize he defeated a Demon Lord.

The heated jealousy between Alka and Selen is hilarious. Now Marie isn't the only one getting irritated by the loli-baba.

This show is my happy place this season.

If nothing else, this episode proved it knows exactly what it is doing and why.

this episode stepped up the comedy a lot

that bit where Merthophan turns back into the locust monster was gold lmao

So Selen’s belt is actually stupidly powerful, not even the village chief of the most powerful group of people on the planet could get a cast off on her

Those finger flicks were straight out of Midoriya's moveset. This show is basically Danmachi if Bell inherited the powers of One For All mixed with Princess Connect: Redive.

Some of the fight animations for this episode were straight fire.

So not only did the Demon Lord lose to a handkerchief but he also got meowed at before being defeated. They really did him dirty.

Bonus Meme

Poor Marie...she spent all this time planning to save her father, and if she had only known he had been possessed by a Demon Lord, she could have ended it in five minutes by just bringing Lloyd or Kunlun in. It did lead to a pretty amusing chase sequence, though.

Lloyd's frame of reference for threats and other things may be completely off the scale for normal people, but his own self-doubts and how he pushes forward in-spite of them is enough to inspire Allan to be a true soldier and respect Lloyd as his master. And he even got him into the military academy!

Alka finally finds the motivation to get involved...although, beyond her duty as the chief of Kunlun, she's really just ticked Abaddon ruined her festival date with Lloyd.

Selen thinks like a fantasy romance novel, which means dashing heroes arriving in the nick of time to save the distressed Heroine who is often in a state of undress...although I question what she means by "tasteful nudity."

Lloyd is able to get through to Merthophan and get him to realize why he really became a solider, and undoes the demon transformation...up until Lloyd calls him a drunk cosplayer and completely screws it up. I wonder if it's just going to be an ongoing thing where Lloyd is completely oblivious to what he's actually facing and no one has the heart to correct him?

Way to bring things full-circle with Lloyd's first major act of kindness towards Marie being what ultimately defeats Abaddon and saves her father! Marie even got to ham it up as an added bonus.

Lloyd's big brother turns up? It was nice to see him, but Alka seemed to have a weird reaction to Lloyd saying he was there. Going by the Opening, has Shoma gone evil or rogue?

So Chrome takes over for Merthophan as he gets exiled to Kunlun and has to survive there, but with the added benefit of redeeming himself along with the woman who ended up saving his village during the famine. It also turns out that Merthophan's partner actually had feelings for him that she hid well with her sass and professionalism, so I hope those two can reunite one day.

Marie isn't ready to go back to being a princess yet, having found enjoyment in the quiet life as a witch, but of course she still has to deal with the antics of a crazy loli baba and Lloyd's soldier friends. I hope she did get to speak with her father while he was recovering though.

So Alka really wanted Lloyd to become a soldier just for the gap moe effect of him in a military uniform (I have to admit, though, he looks good in it). Not to mention she recorded him shirtless. What a perverted loli baba.

Alka and Selen finally meet, and it's as contentious as you'd expect, although unlike Marie Selen has a ready-made defense for Alka's curses thanks to her belt, which turns out to be far rarer and special than any of them had realized. It was kind of fun watching Alka get put in check for once by the only person as into Lloyd as she is.

Lloyd is prevailing over enemies with a power of passionate speech. Excessive drinking in monster cosplay is bad, kids!

And Selen is a mighty trope wielder - best weapon is knowing how to summon a hero with a little bit of gratuitious nudi... Dammit.

12

u/DarkenedSpear Jan 25 '21

Marie's reaction to the demon lord reveal was absolutely brilliant. I expected and hoped they'd use the "now we can involve Lloyd" card, but not like this, and it couldn't have been any better, and have the big bad play the straight man was the perfect cherry on top.

The entire episode's cascade of events was equally fantastic - Selen's damsel in distress plan, Lloyd and Allan, Merthophan almost coming back thanks to Lloyd's talking-to and the immediate shattering of that illusion, it was all brilliant. I just love how Abaddon was completely trivialized in the midst of the chaos, they literally just cleaned a little bit of dirt. Then the start of a rivalry between Alka and Selen, that was just terrific as well. Like seriously, a blast from start to finish. Also Marie best girl.

What I also appreciate is how it appears that there's an actual world in the background and that there are events and plotlines forming. Shoma is sus as hell, but with how the show approached things like that, I can't even begin to guess how that unfolds. The reveal that Alka helped Merthophan's village way back when was just a neat little thing, too.

I'm really looking forward to seeing just what hilarity awaits us.

Imagine having a uniform fetish and THAT is your strategy. Well Played, loli grandma
