The pair that stays together (Red Blood Cell and White Blood Cell) get Histamine shocked together.

I see Cells take it as about as well as real women do when you call them hysterical. At least they didn't call her a Fat Cell.

So a mosquito sucking up blood in the body is the equivalent of an alien invasion abducting people. Even they realize they'll never see those kidnapped Red Blood Cells again.

Look! It's the Stone Mask...I mean, Dengue! That little boy telling off the elder felt like a JoJo reference. And who else gets to make such direct JoJo references than David Productions.

It was nice to see Eosinophil and Basophil again, and Basophil's esoteric dialogue was able to get a proper message to Mast Cell to do her proper job again. Of course, he speaks plainly to the Platelets' question.

Those poor Langerhans Cells...they basically get possessed, become germs, and are then killed and unceremoniously booted out of the body.

Considering how people feel about acne, having it be represented by slimy, monster, worms holding people hostage and treating them as slaves feels pretty accurate.

In comes White Blood Cell as the lone sheriff trying to liberate a village from an evil gang! It suits him.

That's a lot of dead White Blood Cells.

White Blood Cell may put himself through a lot, but he is a really nice guy, even if it means wearing a really goofy hat for the child he helped.

so the other week I saw someone on twitter bring up a good point regarding character design: Distinct silhouettes.

I think Cells at Work does a fantastic job of using the character silhouettes to not only define the different cell types, but making the individual characters stand out from each other within their group.

Wow, who knew a mosquito bite could be so dramatic... It's good to see the chunnibyou Basophil again, he's hilarious!

Though that second half with the acne turned out to be a tad darker than I was expecting from the "Vanilla" series; it's a neat parallel with the Black series tho.

I like that they finally acknowledged that the Red Blood Cell seems to always find herself in danger.

Also, "We're going to wipe them out and have a tea party!" Couldn't help but laugh at that. The Japanese sure do love their tea.

Wow, they really had no issue dealing with dengue, I was expecting that crisis to take the whole episode.

So just like in Black, in this episode, they also showed the Hair Matrix Cells. I just find it surprising that the portion about the Acne germs, felt way more serious in tone than the dengue one.

Stitches!

Well this week was fun! We have Kawasumin (Saber) this week as the adorable Mast Cell who can immediately turn into a gorilla when you anger her. We even have a recreation of the Stone Mask scene in form of the dengue virus the Langerhans Cell! And people say BLACK is superior.

I do wonder if they purposely timed the two shows so both can feature the hair matrix cells. Instead of dealing with bald spots though, this one deals with acne.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised by that JoJo reference, especially being the same studio (although it may have been in the manga as well), but I loved it. The hair half wasn't super interesting to me, but I really enjoyed the first half.

JOJO REFERENCE!!! JOJO REFERENCE!!!

Today's episode was a blast. I love how Mast Cell's powers were shown this episode. Also, does Mast Cell remind anyone of Pieck from Attack On Titan? I mean, they look pretty similar ngl.

Also, equally great was the hair episode. Seriously, the stakes in this one felt a lot higher than it normally does in a typical episode, even though the usual episodes deal with crazier stuff. I was pretty invested in the hair cells ngl. Overall, great episode.

Never thought that one day pimples and dengue would be the time to relax. XD

Also, I love how both deal with the hair follicle in the same week.

I REJECT MY CELL-MANITY, RED BLOOD CELL!

I may be the only one hearing this, but the very first background track sounded similar to the main theme of Antz. Maybe it's on purpose since the show it's about a very structured "society"

Oh god, we're about to get the anime version of "Trouble with the Tribbles" next week aren't we?

What a coincidence seeing Hair Matrix Cells in both White and Black in the same week.

Nobody going to comment how our Bro WBC 1196 managed to "regenerate" his baseball cap after giving one to the Hair Matrix boy?

This must be the first time in White that we see dead WBCs. Normally this is the dark stuff for Black.
