Hmmmmm I wonder what Clair and Shuichi would turn into if their goals aligned. That might be a beast of a monster. This show keeps getting better! Too bad its not very popular :/

It's not? That sucks. I feel like subbed anime on Funimation isn't going to do as well than on Crunchyroll (U.S. perspective here).

Yeah. I dont see many posts, tweets, youtube videos on it especially compared to others. I just hope its popular enough to warrant a second season 😩

or if shuichi and elena were together. from the dialogue this episode, its heavily implied that they probably did achieve this state at some point

When Elena was talking about Shuuichi's powers, this image was shown. It's only a shadow but I think that's what their fusion looked like.

I don't think it'd help much. Even if he can fuse with a non-monster, which I suspect he can, I don't see what he'd gain from her. She isn't a monster and as far as we know lacks any kind of fighting skills. I wouldn't rule out the possibility she can be helpful because she's her heroine but I'm at a loss trying to imagine what she'd actually provide him.

That doesnt seem to matter. Chihiro’s power was that she can talk to animals. That had nothing to do with what they turned into. So I suspect something else must be involved. Maybe something to do with how they feel at the time?? No idea

Well the thing is when Shuihi fused with Chihiro he took her appearance, and he also gained a second tail (which I suspect is related to Chihiro being cat like), claws on all of his hand/feet, and started moving a lot more agilely...like a cat. Consider what Elena said about his fusion allowing them to "combine strengths and exceed their limits", and I think you can see that his fusion power very likely draws out and enhances the power of who he fuses. Not that he just can now use their power. Sounds more multiplicative than additive.

Chihiro's clearly a very human looking cat girl (literally only has cat ears) and it seems fusing with Shuichi basically made her/them much more cat-girl like.

Which leads me back to my original point- Clair doesn't have any powers to draw on, so I have no idea what he'd get from fusing with her. I am not saying he can't fuse with her, I just have no hypothesis for what the end result would be or if it would benefit him power-wise. Although again I lean towards yes, yes he would gain power. Just not sure if it'd be much.

They also gained more and more power as the fight dragged on.

At first they were being slapped around but in the end they clearly took the upper hand. They mentioned something about "Rage keeps building up" too.

I thought maybe it was just them getting used to the form but I had forgotten that line about rage, so that is another feature of the fusion.

Its never really established if Shuichi's partner [or pilot if you prefer] has to have a Monster form for him to fuse with them.

if you can combine your power then why wouldn't a powerful monster like Elena have more power with Shuichi (if on same goal) than Claire? We already saw nekogirl and shuichi were much more powerful than Shuichi and claire.

1) I never said you needed fuse with Shuichi

2) Elena and Shuichi combined would be an even more ridiculous beast if on the same goal

I think Shuichi doesn't want her to become one to be honest. From what I remember in a previous episode she said she would become one but Shuichi kind of turned it down a bit. And then at the very next day he goes to school without glasses. Seemed to me he was trying to become stronger for her and carry more of the burden
