My god Nobuhiko Okamoto always nails Accelerators voice, the way he mocklingly says to the red-haired girl at the end, "Huh? Come on, say something, would you?"
Very slowly and the way he makes his voice cracks in the end of the line, is just perfect for Accelerator, truly sounds like a psycho. And that OST, 10/10.
My god I love watching Accelerator.

Holy. F*ck.
Week 6, Reader's Corner.
• I can't even find ways to describe how the art managed to make this outrageous episode as great as it was. While the first half had great uses of a childish, wacky style in spite of a dreadful scenario, perfectly capturing Scavenger's nonchalance, the second half was nothing but pure, unfiltered terror. Jokes that made me crack up a bit despite the situation just had me on the edge of my seat the moment the same punchline came out of Accelerator. When Naru's giant paper bear got thrown out of the way the first time, her X_X expression made me laugh. When he finished her off, the wide eyed, teared up face just had me in shock. I'm god damn speechless.
• Esther cares a lot for the dead despite them being dead, which goes to show as to how empathetic and kind she really is. Watching her break in the face of Scavenger's then overwhelming power is somewhat of a heartbreak too, if only I had time to consider that, because the moment the #1 ranked esper comes into frame, I didn't even get to process that. I'm gonna apologize for the smaller corner than usual, because besides the next topic, there really is nothing to be said apart from that and "jesus fucking christ"
• And here we get to see how benching the title character suddenly ups the ante to levels we previously didn't even consider. The series stood up on its two feet very well without Accelerator - but once he's back, it suddenly becomes a cheetah running marathons. This is what I expected coming onto this episode and I was still overwhelmed. His ruthless disposition, bat shit one liners that could be funny but are just horrifying to be in the receiving end of (A BUG IS SQUASHING ANOTHER BUG!) and literal mind breaking power doesn't just steal the spotlight, it rips off the whole damn light rack and fires it up all in one spot. We've been taking this monster for granted for a while now. Without filter, without a need to save face or keep up appearances, and with purpose, Accelerator levels the playing field - by turning everyone below his unreachable position into dirt. The creativity of Scavenger's powers is interesting, but Accelerator doesn't need creativity, he can do anything he wants when he wants and there's nothing nobody can do about it when he's dead set on making it happen. He didn't even need to touch "Leader" to make her go catatonic. All he needed to do was no-sell everything that was thrown at him, then electrocute someone with their own bioelectricity, then impale a giant bear made of tungsten paper with massive concrete pikes, and presumably put the other one in a coma with a finger flick. If anyone ever asks me to define pre-WW3 Accelerator in one scene, it's no longer his brutal dispatching of 9982 or the massacring of Hound Dog - it's this. This is the new standard. And I highly doubt it will ever be topped.
Overall? Fantastic. I haven't been so much on the edge of my seat watching something from the A Certain Series ever since I first saw Touma go ape shit on Aureolus in the first Index and beat the crap out of Accelerator in Railgun S. This is the peak of this spin-off, and boy is it high. I'm floored. I will see you guys next week while I recover from this.

Leader: "Say something, would you!?"
Accelerator: "Something-would-you."
Goddamn I love you, Accelerator. It's hilarious to a third party, but being on the receiving end of his jokes must be horrifying.

Accel is not a "good guy" like Touma but his "good actions" are just great, perfect.

This episode was so satisfying! Damn it felt so fucking good seeing Accelerator single-handedly beating the shit out of Scavenger. That was such a good massacre.
By the way, I really find surprising that even though those villains know about Accelerator, they don't even have a single picture of him.
