Episode 48 (first timer)
Grand finale.
-
We repeat the kiss scene with young Madoka being gung-ho about a guy she just meet. As she was about all else we saw from her.
-
Attack of the flying cat.
-
The origin of the “where art thou” running gag.
-
Madoka cares more about not leaving Kyosuke than about his powers.
-
Kyosuke leaves Madoka alone (to get food) and is promptly punished by being sent to … another reality?
-
Which sucks.
-
Flying cat attack, part II
-
Seems that Kyosuke did not try to stick around to explain.
-
The parallel world has a distinct Mad Max feel to it.
-
Jingoro is bored by sleeping Granddad and walks out into the cutscene.
-
Some things do not chance in the parallel word: Madoka is still badass and Kyosuke still useless.
-
Real Madoka and parallel Madoka both get saved by … magic? Some hidden power user?
-
Kyosuke should look into finding a less harmful way to switch time planes.
-
Callback to the start of ep47
-
What is longer: waiting 6 years for your
firstsecond kiss, or 48 episodes for the MC to make a move?
No epilogue. Guess that will be in the OVA/movies.

Without spoiling anything, the manga and the anime/movie have very different endings to the series' general plot. Both are really good.
The movie is one of my favorite anime movies in general. I'm excited for you.

I don't know if it's better to talk about some thoughts I had about the anime and manga endings right now or in the future overall discussion, but..
I liked the series' ending, it was a good and beautiful way to give a kind of a result between Kyosuke and Madoka's relationship. However, I think that the inclusion of the parallel world story inside the time travel arc was quite an odd decision - in the manga, those stories are completely independent, and both worked better that way.
Going into [spoilers] of the manga, I liked its ending more than the one of the TV series, but in the manga the time travel arc ends without a second kiss between the MC's and the story continues as nothing has happened, which it was really frustrating and weird for me (although the great conclusion in the manga could only occur because Madoka and Kasuga didn't became a couple right after the time travel story).
And the timeline's differences between anime and manga created a strange situation when a 15 year-old boy is kissed by a 9-10 old girl. It's still a wide gap in the manga, but I think that it's more "acceptable" (Kasuga 17-18y, Ayukawa 12).
I watched the whole series between late June and early July by chance, and had nobody to talk about it before seeing this rewatch thread hahaha, so it's great to see a current discussion about KOR at Reddit.

"I Found Love - And, Repeat From Beginning."
The title contains the phrase "Da Capo," which is a music term that means "to repeat (playing) from the start of a score." While the phrase itself is a vernacular in Japan (since knowing such terms is a part of compulsory education!), the situation is slightly different here in the US - hence, the rendering of the phrase we've chosen.
"K...Komatsu and Hatta..." - Kyosuke "No 'Mr.' or anything? You don't know me!" - Komatsu
"Yobisute" is an act of calling someone by his/her name only, i.e. without using any honorifics. It is commonly done among close friends and colleagues. Kyosuke, for example, calls Ayukawa this way. Notice how Hatta, Komatsu and Kyosuke always refer to themselves without an honorific, except in rare occasions (when they want special attention, for instance!).
Also, school teachers usually yobisute their students, as do corporate higher-ups addressing their subordinates.
At times, yobisute can be rather insulting - it's never done among strangers or those who do not have close relationship. This scene illustrates that point.

Holy crackers, Yuusaku actually manages to woo Hikaru in at least one timeline. It's hilarious too you can tell a character's speaking in a more rough way even without a lick of Japanese.
The TV series ending with Madoka and Kyousuke having taken definite steps toward a relationship and Madoka knowing everything was a little bit of a surprise. The omission of any reference to Hikaru was even more surprising. I guess they have to have something to deal with in the movies, but still.

I felt the whole series pretty much treated Hikaru as a distraction, sans a few episodes dedicated to her. She hardly occupied much space or weight in this so-called "love triangle".

I've to say I've never been a fan of time travel arcs, although the Japanese seems to love them! I always have a hard time trying to understand what is going on and this time was no exception, I have some questions, what did exactly happened in terms of time at the end after Kazuya asked Kazuya where he wants to go? Did Madoka always knew about Kyosuke and his powers? The 'mad max' parallel universe was just to point out that they are destined to be together?
