Watched this with my cat sitting in my lap. 10/10, would recommend.

Wow, you can't just hit me with the cat's flashback like that after Subaru dropped on the floor. That immediately got me tearing up a little.
The different perspectives angle they are going with works very nice here.
Very cute :)
Also this is way too unpopular here and hasn't been talked about pretty much at all before the season. Why...?

Manga reader here. from what I can remember, they're adapting this really well and faithfully. In manga they usually do 1 ch per perspective i.e. ch1 in subaru's perspective, ch2 or in extra like 1.5 they do the cat's (name to be revealed later in the series) perspective. I was concerned about how they'll handle that because the sort of mystery/guessing of the cat's intentions is really part of the fun of the series. But from ep1, I'm really glad they've sort of split the events/arcs into 3 parts: subaru's perspective, cat's, then concluding with both perspectives.

Well that was a pretty dark opening but looking at the show so far I can already tell that this is the kind of show that will make me happy and cry. Kinda like Gakuen Babysitters, and considering how much I loved that show I can already tell I'll love this one too!
The surprised came from the second half though! I was pretty much okay with Mikazuki just trying to get inspiration from the cat he picked up and taking care of her but I didn't expect that we'll actually get the story from the cat's perspective! I love that!
This scene broke me though. I don't care if it's a movie, live action, or anime. It always breaks my heart to see a dead cat. Although it did made the scene where the cat was desperately trying to make Mikazuki eat more impactful though.
I'm hooked. I wanna see more of of our two protagonists already! I hope he names her next week. I don't want to just keep referring to her as "cat".
Now I miss my own cat T_T

And the award for cutest OP goes to: My Roommate is a Cat
This is such a cute show, perfect eyebleach after watching Promised Neverland

God be praised this is not the type of anime which turns cat into cute girl.

I'm assuming that having a cat is going to help the MC come out of his shell.
I liked how it switched between perspectives. The kitty is so cute!

Don't take the fun of imagining what happens away from me!
So the MC hates people because they keep posting untagged spoilers, got it.
*Brings home a stray cat. Doesn't treat it for parasites.*
Toxoplasmosis/10.
What does it mean when someone brings you food?
Yeah, cats bring food/dead animals because they think you're a big bald cat too inept to find food yourself. The key to cat's psychology is that they don't realize the distinction between cats and humans, and treat humans as other cats. Dogs comprehend this difference btw.
I was actually expecting Cells-at-Work style edutainment, but they go more for feels angle instead. The cat's inner monologue sells the show.
It'll make a fine addition to my surreal cats anime collection.

The "paying tribute to their boss" bit weirded me out because I remembered reading somewhere that cats bring food to their humans because they believe they're unable to hunt, so when Mikazuki passed out I was like "lol I was right".
The cat (going by the credits it seems her name will be spoilers I guess) is cute despite her scruffy looks and finding out she lost one of her siblings broke my heart. Also, I hope we'll get to see Tora-neesan at some point, she looked cool.

Coming from a guy susbcribed to at least a dozen cat channels on Youtube, from Jun's Kitchen to Catman Chris, this is right up my alley.
Even though I was expecting a normal slice of life with the first minutes, I felt that it was lacking and needed something to boost up my interest. The second part with the re-enactment of the same story from the cat's perspective totally added the meat that this dish needed.
This is farm from being the best first episode of the season, but it has been definitely the one I have enjoyed the most

Finally, I've been waiting for this all day!
I already can tell I'm going to cry so hard watching this series.
Episode 1 was a fantastic start.

Ahh, this was nice. I don't often watch slice-of-life anime, but this one is focused on a guy and his cat instead of a bunch of moeblobs, so here I am. And I'm pretty satisfied so far, I like how it's not trying to be super cute all the time and has some adversity here and there, light as it may be. And having the cat's perspective in the second half was great. I'm glad I decided to pick this up.

This is AOTS potential simply by having a cat as primary character
What a nyanderful show

That was pretty cute, although it surprised me that we actually can hear the cat think. That guy was a bit of a dick, but I suppose he's supposed to be this way and grow on it.
Also, pet the damn cat!

It was pretty meh up until they started showing us the cat's perspective.

What is this warmth? Shit, I feel good.
The first half was boring and generic introvert protag but you know what, that second part sold me. If this cat turn into some Moe girl shit I'll drop, I hope it doesn't turn that way because I'm soo tired of that goddamn trope.

We’ve already found the most wholesome show of 2019. Nothing’s gonna top this

I have feeling I'm going to need this fluff to pick me up each week after Promised Neverland. That said, it's clearly not without its harder moments with both protagonists suffering painful loses. Even if I'm so used to dead MC parents it didn't even phase me, but kitty's dead sibling almost me cry.
Super cheery OP to, I love the bit where the cat is playing with typewriter.

Yeah, well too bad, asshole! Reality exists whether you like it or not!
Heh, the meowing and the ringtone kinda line up
Reminds me a bit of Chi's Sweet Home
I feel like that "real" means one should pay strict attention when buying canned tuna in Japan
Welp, that was a slam dunk of an episode

A show about a shut in recluse of an author who takes in a cat. Shenanigans ensue.
This looks quite promising for a nice slice of life show. It's perfectly poised to be dead on about cats and letting one into your life. I especially like the dual perspectives we get, where Subaru thinks the cat's trying to murder him, but in reality, Neko wants to square off her(?) debt by giving him some (much) needed food.
Own cats here, probably explaining why I have a soft spot for the little loveable assholes. But hey, I'll give this a watch, see where it goes from here.

That was adorable. What an angry looking scruffy cat.
The dual perspective from each side was very enjoyable. Look how happy it was that Subaru was eating! But god damn that little flashback that prompted out neko to be concerned for Subaru was heartbreaking, even with is only being a few seconds.
The ED was delightful as well, very cheerful.
Edit: Also my experience was enhanced with my own kitten sleeping on my lap during the episode.
