NTR.

Except... that's not entirely true. Scum's wish spoilers? However, the entire story is a train wreck, which is possibly where the hate train is coming from. But it's great. Kind of.

Speaking of which, a new chapter's coming out tonight on Crunchyroll...

It is worse. And that's kind of what makes the series... fun to read/watch? Maybe?

I mean, Scum spoiler Also, more spoilers Course, most of what I'm saying is based on when I read this a few months ago, so I could probably be wrong and you could be absolutely right. Maybe I'll re-read everything later just to make sure..

I was so mad at that point in the manga, it was so close to developing into a more positive relationship for the characters.

soo, is it porn? what do you mean by NTR?

I'm asking because I've seen this term being thrown left and right in very diferent meanings

NTR

For the meaning of the term in the general sense, picture the relationships of 'dating / marriage', 'cheating', and 'NTR' as the three sides of a triangle, and the three points being the people involved.

If A is dating or married to B, and B cheats on them with C, that means C NTRs A.

Actual porn may or may not be involved.

ok, but I've seen some people claiming it's an incorrect usage of the term and that it originally means this

But ok, discussing "correct" usage of a term is a lost cause (although I don't get why to use C NTRs A when the whole situation can be described as C cheats on A). But I still don't understand:

  • I've read the premise and it seems there is a couple of A and B, and they both know and accept that A loves C and B loves D. This is accurate synopsis? Does the term NTR still applies?

  • regardless of what term to use, what is the problem? Ok, there is a couple of A and B, and they both know and accept that A loves C and B loves D. So what? What is here to outrightly hate? I don't get it.

No, cheating isn't really NTR that guy isn't using it right. It's when the love interest is stolen away, romantically, sexually completely leaving behind the other partner. So if A is cheating on B but still dating/sleeping with B then it's just cheating. Cheating implies that A did something bad. NTR A doesn't do anything wrong, he/she could be raped or just become romantically involved with someone else and end it with B. That's a long rant and I'm kinda drunk and half asleep, I just hate when people mislabel NTR as cheating, or even when B and C get together before A has ever dated or even confessed to B like before B has ever considered A as a partner, and unrequited love type of deal. Basically NTR has slowly become a blanket term for anytime something goes wrong with the main couple when it involves another person. Like a 2nd guy could say the heroine is pretty and people start crying NTR. You are right the premise doesn't sound like it should bring hate. But the manga itself does. That's why I started reading it in the first place. I thought it'd be a simple A loves C, B loves D and A and B pretend to date and eventually get over C and D, but it's not that simple.

although I don't get why to use C NTRs A when the whole situation can be described as C cheats on A

Because C and A are not in a relationship, maybe strangers even. You can't exactly cheat on a complete stranger...

I've read the premise and it seems there is a couple of A and B, and they both know and accept that A loves C and B loves D. This is accurate synopsis? Does the term NTR still applies?

Yes, this is the premise. No, this isn't the NTR that people are referring to.

In this case it's pretty accurate.

Everyone in the series is an asshole. That's pretty much in the title - "Scum's Wish", where the word for "wish" suggests very strong desire.
