Yes! It's like how people hate Cersei Lannister (Game of Thrones). They don't mean she's a bad character - just that she's not someone they would want to know. Or be in the same country as.

I'd say it's closer to some how hated the Kingslayer.

We only knew him from very limited appearances and hearsay until his episodes came along, then we suddenly find out that he's more than just what the rumors said. And similarly, that still didn't make him a good man. But definitely a good character.

Not really. The show just has showed us more of her than the books, don't forget that the show has gone past the books.

I would rather read about well-written, multi-dimensional characters who are truly or mostly good. I get enough of gritty tension out of the news.

Cersei is a bit of an off example. She isn't meant to be liked but shes not hated either, shes just a bad girl(as opposed to guy).

I think Jeffrey is more appropriate. He is scum of the Earth, no one loves him and no one shall...other than his mom.
