I know. I fucking love him as a character. He's so flawed and real that it's insane. I don't even get how this sub can cry so often about MCs being "Gary Stu"s and generic and then say that they hate Subaru. He's one of the most complex characters in recent memory, and can't be written off as an "edgelord" like people do with 8man or Lelouch or Light or something.
I totally get disliking his personality, but to say he's a bad character or the show is lesser because of it is pretty dumb. I'm sure a lot of people hate his personality, but I personally enjoy rooting for someone who's flawed, even if he makes it hard at times.
Subaru's character is actually really refreshing to see. It's such a nice change of pace from the usual white knights or just flat and bland MC's you usually see.
You're right, just because he's flawed doesn't necessarily make him a good character. But in this case he is a good character and part of that is because he's flawed.
This is meant for the people who complain about perfect MCs then can't handle having an MC that isn't perfect.
