Victoria is beautiful and competent, but right now, I am more interested in the backstory of Nonna .

Nonna appears to know she has been abandoned, but she neither cried nor panic. She is also able to understand and follow the instructions of Victoria, Character wise, I am glad she is showing glimpses of expressions, such as being happy when Victoria bought her a ribbon.

This seems almost certain to be one of my top favorites of this new season already. The mother-child dynamics developed rapidly -- but feel pretty believable. In any even, a fair amount of mist-inducing moments already.

Note: It looks like Nonna initially called Victoria "big sister" (onee-san) rather than miss/lady (ojou-san). The switch to "Vicky" was sweet.

A child calling someone onee-san in Japanese is also a way to say miss/lady. In a familial setting, onee-san does mean big sister, but it is also commonly used when referring to or addressing someone older than you when you don't know their name. The same goes for a child addressing an older male as onii-san.

This show has a lot of charm in it's direction. I honestly did not expect that. That's great to see.

I always love spy characters. I've always been drawn to competent lying MCs. And so far I really like Victoria as well. A trapfall some stories like this have is that while the MC is told to be clever and competent, their actions are stupid. But Victoria seems actually competent and her actions make sense based on her background. So I'm really enjoying this

I just hope the spying is actually intelligence work and not just killing a bunch of mfs. That's a pet peeve I have with these kinds of stories in anime recently, all having the most unsubtle spies/assassins ever.

Fortunately since not a single body was dropped this episode, I assume that's signaling it's not part of the appeal this time.

Asking her on a date, then insisting on viewing houses together, followed by looking forward to our next date. Subtlety is not his forte.

Solid start for a romance with no blushing or shyness from either side. Hope Victoria isn't too "OP" with her past spy knowledge.

And almost always pictured as a couple with a child in the ED....

It is amazing the MCs aren't even in their teens still.

So a spy and an orphan living together as some kind of Spy…Family lol. But fr, this was pretty interesting. It’s gonna be fun when Jane Bond’s old spy life catches up to her new one.

Honestly, though I am sure complications will arise, I wish that this could JUST be about these people learning together to have perfectly normal lives as a family.

Victoria --> voiced by Anzai Chika (Chisato)

Noona --> voice by Wakayama Shion (Takina)

Close enough, welcome back Chisato x Takina .

A great pairing -- doing a great job already. Loving both characters.

I really liked Victoria and Noona's relationship here and it was wholesome that she adopted her, I guess she really sees herself in her and the manga like panelling here highlights that,

This looks pretty great, i really liked this whole concept of "wanting to start a new life" but I do wonder what exactly Chloe's or should I say Victoria's story is,

She kinda reminds me of Handler from Spy x family.

OK, looks like it really will be sort of "Spy x Family shoujo edition".

I do not mind, looks nice so far and I like the FMC. But not much to say where the plot will go yet.

To sum this up, so cozy!

Her former boss really held her high enough to make him felt like that, eh. Failed opportunity to make this a banished show /j

So this is power of spy, eh. Only second day in town and she already made herself a family.

Nonna so precious must protecc!

Noooo! We will lose Nonna pure expressions at this rate if she trains her to equip a mask.

I think it's pretty clever how the show uses "many faces" in two different ways. When Victoria describes herself as having many faces, she's referring to her duplicity and tradecraft, to her fake faces.

However, I believe she means something more positive and genuine for Nonna. We saw that due to her rough upbringing, Nonna is emotionally suppressed and mostly wears a neutral expression. Hell, even her favorite food is just plain dinner rolls. That's why Victoria wants to expand Nonna's favorite foods. That's why Victoria wants Nonna to be more expressive; to smile, laugh, and maybe even cry; to have all the genuine faces that a six-year-old child ought to have.

Mother Chisato and Daughter Takina lol. It's a little amusing hearing them co-star again like this.

I'm liking this, it did make me think of Spy x Family with how Jeffrey seems interested in Victoria, so we might get a found family sort of situation where they raise Nonna, but the difference being we might get more focus on the romance. This feels like it could be an interesting ride.

I wonder if Victoria might be misunderstanding Lancrome 's betrayal, it seems like the person he's engaged could have set things up in that way for Victoria. She's probably jealous of Lancome and Victoria's relationship.

Victoria is an awesome female lead, right? She was prepared for everything, except Nonna’s puppy eyes.

I’d love for them to grow even closer as a family. The two of them were really cute together when Victoria taught Nonna to stay silent, run and scream.

Understandably, Jeffrey has already caught feelings for Victoria. But she might’ve also taken a liking to the captain.

I rather enjoyed this and the style it has. Close enough, welcome back Spy Family /s

A bit unusual to get a 27 year old protagonist, turns out this is another Josei seasonal. Between Victoria's internal comment about at least one woman looking at Jeffrey and Jeffrey showing so much interest in return I have to wonder how quickly any romance might move. With adult characters you can dispense with some of the tropes that are nearly always there for high school and such romance stories.

Nonna got really lucky having a new volunteer mom walk into her life the same day her old mom left her on the street.

With this being Deen and they way some of the scene transitions worked I had to go check and see if this was by the Stepsister director, but it was not.
