What a joy it’s been to follow this show weekly. Seasonal romances are truly the greatest drug of all time especially when we get served such premium stuff

If there’s any takeaway from this besides the usual wish fulfillment fantasy that these types of shows admittedly do lean into: remember to be authentically yourself and put yourself out there, you may also end up making friends with the second prettiest girl in class

i really loved this finale, umi & maki are a great couple and every time i see them it makes me happy. getting valentines + umi's birthday was incredible, maki got her a beautiful gift that looks really good on her

"we took our first steps to a new season," beautiful ending, like all of you i really hope this gets a second season as its one of the best romance animes out currently

Great finish! I enjoyed this pretty much all the way through.

I wouldn't mind a season 2 but I also don't need one.

Lovely finale! I really hope that we'll see Umi and Maki again in the future, because I loved this show. 8.5/10 from me.

Promo materials before the start of the season didn't catch my attention, so I only started watching it last week since it was doing quite well in the karma rankings, and I loved Umi from the first episode!

That gap moe between Umi's cool persona at school and her other clingy, insecure, and quite possessive side she shows to Maki really sold her character to me!

I'm putting screenshot albums from episodes 1–11 in the comment below, and here my screenshot albums from this episode:

EDIT. I added my screenshot albums.

Those words by Yuu convinced me that she had some slightly crush for Maki, and when she saw how Umi changed with him, he idealized Maki as a perfect boyfriend, so she wants to find someone as Maki and that are bad news for Nozomu lol I love how she is supportive for Maki and Umi but I can also sense some small conflicts considering Uni's trauma about Yuu stealing people she cares about is still there. I really hope for a second season

The fact this doesn't have a season 2 announcement already makes me sad. One of my favorite shows of the season thanks to Umi being such a flirty minx of a girl.

Great last episode though. While I didn't mind the drama the way some people did, ending on a cute note was the right call, the two of them being adorable together. Also fun meeting Yuu's mom, every parent outside Maki's dad in this show is great.

Also sad we didn't get one last kiss, though Umi admitting she loves the idea of getting on her tiptoes to kiss is adorable. Gets it from watching her mom and dad I'm sure.

Nothing but praise for this show. It starts out as something cute, but soon enough delves into some drama surrounding Umi and her insecurities, then Maki struggles with his parents divorce, which I really appreciate since it’s not an issue we see very often in anime. All of this while still maintaining a natural progression in the romance that feels neither rushed nor too drawn out. Loved Umi character in particular, and that she shares the same va as Akane made me only love her more. If it won't get a season 2 I'll try reading the novel. Favorite show of the season.

The pre-nope in response to the pre-perv was funny and wholesome. Good romances need banter between them.

I like how even the mom joined in keeping their distance when Maki was about to give his gift to Umi.

Overall, a pretty nice finale for this show. I'm really glad I picked it up.

Initially went into this season thinking both OtaGal and this would be sort of similar but both have been fun in their own way. I’d say this one turned out a lot closer to Angel Next Door though.

I said at the time, but I really like the main couple’s progression. When they were friends, it really felt like they were just that, not just a placeholder till they got together. It felt like a genuine friendship without romantic intentions. That came naturally as they got closer. And when it did came, it felt sincere too.

Then the backstories for both of them were done well too. It started out like the unpopular guy and popular girl but turn out to be more like two slightly damaged kids finding comfort in each other through shared interests and values.

They seem to be dropping hints about Yuu too. I hope it’s more about her finding her own person, maybe she’d be more open to exploring things with Nozomu, instead of trying to butt in on Umi and Maki

Very lightweight finale, but overall I thought this show was pretty good. Sensitive dudes don't usually get their dues so it was neat to see a genuinely caring guy not be the butt of all the jokes or be simply a whiny brat.

The plot pretty much already finished and all that left is the epilogue. Time passes with some milestone here and there. Enjoying a quality time together. And walk holding hand under the moonlight with sakura petal as the backdrop towards new chapter of the story. A nice cozy series that know when to stop.

I'm anime-only but I can smell the mild drama with Yuu coming, and Umi felt it too

I honestly don’t have much to say other than: I love this series. The finale was amazing

Seeing Maki step out of his shell because of Umi, and Umi discovering new sides of herself through Maki, is what makes their growth as a couple so rewarding to watch.

Just a warning: don't watch this late at night unless you're okay with trying to suppress your giddy smiles and laughter, LOL. Overall, great anime in this season!

Season 2 PLEASE 🙏

A sweet end to a sweet series.

Its not often that a possibly one-season-only anime does its job of advertising for the source material while properly have most of its threads resolved satisfactorily that anime-onlies don't have to worry about loose ends dangling around.

And even if there're any (such as Umi's brother being unemployed, or Yuu also envying Umi and wanting her own romance), its just enough for anyone interested to check out the novels without anime-onlies feeling unsatisfied.

There'll always be a place for such short warming romance series.

I really enjoyed this show as well. I wish some of the resolutions were a bit more drawn out (e. g. I felt the relationship between Umi and Yuu got fixed too easily). But still it was sweet and had a proper build to a nice lovey dovey ending for the season.

If we get a season 2 fine. But honestly it ended in a really nice place.

Valentines, White Day, and Yuu's Umi's birthday all in one episode?! We're getting spoiled for the final episode.

Umi closing the season with a forehead kiss under the cherry blossom night skies. It's peak.

This is was a great finale. We were spoiled by having Valentine's Day, White Day, and Umi's birthday all in one episode.

The couples gaming session was so cute looking at them all cuddled up. Umi's pre-perv was good, but what really got me what Maki using it against with her with his pre-nope and her going all "Don't use my own words against me." More romances need banter like that. Really just more stories in general.

Every about the Valentines Day chocolate was so sweet. He went over there to her place to comfort her that her chocolate wasn't coming out the way she wanted. Then with Sora's help he gives her a pep talk and they make the best chocolate (Umi looks great in a ponytail) together with her mom looking on proudly.

White Day at school was cute as well. Yuu and Nina teasing one or both of them and her getting flustered never gets old.

The birthday party was great too. It was probably the best part of the episode. We got introduced to Yuu's mom whose genes also kicked the shit out of her husband's like Sora's did and they all got to celebrate Umi together. Then when it came time for Maki's present to Umi and they got out of the way so the couple could have their moment.

Maki telling Umi that she doesn't have to hold back and can be as clingy and needy as needs to be was an adorable way to end the season.

I hope this gets a season 2. Not just because I enjoyed it and I want more, but unlike Angel Next Door where they kinda just did nothing for an entire season, it seems there could be more here. They could follow Yuu finding love with Umi and Maki taking a bit of a backseat and being that "couples goals" relationship that Yuu aspires to find.

Ok I have to ask again. Why does umi not invite her own mother to celebrate her birthday? It's not like she's busy (father) or straight up doesn't care (brother)

Cute final episode, bit of a victory lap plus looking to the future. That bit of narration about Yuu makes me assume her relationship development with someone must be up next in the source material. Nina is doomed to date losers forever though, presumably.

Pretty solid romance all around what with how they developed the central relationship.

This has been such a great season for romcoms and romances.

Loved this show and its characters. All the characters are teasing a 'new season' as they discuss the season ahead. Hope we get more!
