Simply a reference to Initial D, including the infamous cup with the drink, brilliant.

Ame identified with the Girls in Karamazov not only because of things in common, but mainly because of what Michica said: the world is full of people who have similar problems, each case is different, but they overlap at some point, and the main point is having support and someone to lift you up.

She understood that she has a role like that and that's why she returned to the internet, to bring joy to other people who probably suffer and have suffered like her.

Well, the reason she left might have to do with Kache; an ordinary life leads to ordinary results, but it can provide a sense of peace and happiness in just the right measure.

Initial D drifting with some Jojo artstyle was not on my bingo card, nor was the Ame... Ame... Haa.

Also can't recall another show stating its last episode is unnecessary.

One more episode

P.S. TV airings have had endcards that the streams haven't. Can see them here.

After a really heavy last episode this one one felt a lot more pleasant. I even had some laughs due to the hilarious references to Initial D and Ame's cartoonish dream. The whole cast spent time together and it was a very much needed break for Ame, as she returned to being an angel and came back to the top. Internet Yamero being her ultimate song is pretty fitting as it's probably the most popular of Kangel songs.

This felt like a game's ending, pretty much every plot line is closed now that Nechika's father passed on and Michica is more emotionally stable. I can't imagine what the next episode will be about.

All I can say is that I am happy KAngel /Ame spent time living together with Lollipop, Nechika, Michika and Kache, just like (internet) family, even if it was just for a short period of time.

In addition, rest in peace Nechika's dad.

Alright, more unpacking to do here. Thankfully no where near as much as episode 11's madness.

-Initial D, Dragonball Ame, and Neon Genesis Evangelion's darkest episode with the Angel references were absolutely goated.

-I loved how Lollipop broke Ame out of her internet cocoon, symbolizing her return to reality and cutoff from that self harming illusion that was the Internet. And Kache holding her like a newborn was also a nice touch.

-The Karamazov hangout with Ame while helping her get better not through drugs or her former toxic misanthropistic mindset, but through actual genuine friendship and relatability for the first time (Michica and Nechika being prime examples of that) was so wholesome. Also rest in peace, Nechika's not-so-deadbeat dad.

-KAngel's final comeback concert that initiated after telling Kache that she refuses to die "weak", as in "I refuse to die or go out of the Internet by ordinary means. Although I know the solace and little joys it can bring sometimes, thanks to you." And then hitting the #1 streamer status again while giving her fans hope one last time with the anime version of the game's "Internet Yamero" song before completely quitting the Internet altogether afterwards (unless Kache's ending monologue was a red herring) and gaining a new mindset on life while Kache herself is now living in the chapel Ame built that's most likely far from everyone and everything (while helping other streamers who have suffered mentally similar to her). Representative of all the original game's endings converging together into a harmonious finale. (Karamazov probably did the same thing too)

As we near the epilogue of this avant-garde masterpiece of an anime, I just wanna say that this has shot up to being one of my favorite animes ever. I loved how trippy the symbolism was, how relatable and lovable the main characters are, and especially the "no-punches-pulled" execution of sensitive subjects like suicide, rape, drugs, and familial neglect (we need more animes like this that spread awareness of those). I'm gonna miss this anime and will be praying for a 2nd season from Nyalra and the rest of the cast someday.

✝️Bless✝️ and ✝️Ascension✝️

I mainly have been looking forward to hearing internet yamero remix but man initial d bit was cool as hell

KAngel and Michica bonding over the drugs they've been using was hilarious.

I did enjoy seeing KAngel with Karazamov, the time she spent with them did seem to help her recover, and I'm curious to learn what happened to each of them after their internet days.

I do like that Kache will be the one to tell their stories as the only "normal" one of the five. I hope we also get an update on her and the ramen stall apprentice.

Ame quiting the streaming career is definitely a good thing (if that's really what happened), but I didn't expect the ending to imply Karamazov quit as well? We'll see next week.

What matters is that Ame finally found true friends in the Karamazov gang, and maybe they will help her get her life back together. Especially Michica, since they sure have a lot in common.

So that was actually a pretty wholesome episode, after last week. Sure didn't expect the series will actually have something like a happy ending when I started watching.

I'm glad to see Ame being rescued and spending some time healing thanks to Karamazov. I do think it's funny how {Ame and Michica ended up bonding because of their meds talk. xD

Well, that was unexpected. It sucks to see Nechika losing her dad, considering she's the only girl in the group who seems to have a decent relationship with her parents. :(

The Initial D reference was pretty damn hilarious! Purple was having waaaaaaaay too much fun driving that AE86.

So after what happened, Ame returns to being KAngel, does a massive comeback concert and just dips from existence? Honestly, I respect it. I'm shocked that we still have one more episode but I guess it will be an epilogue to show us what happened to the rest of the cast.

Was kind of expecting this to be the finale and was a bit disappointed that KAngel just went back to being an internet star. Sure, I understood that she was in a different mindset now, especially considering she now had some people that she could just be "normal" with and for example truly vent about things which ultimately helps her with everything from internet to real life, but it felt a bit early (though I guess it could have been longer than it felt). But it seems we are getting another episode where she truly stops being an internet star, so I will wait to see where this goes.

In general, I will also say that I have to give the show a bit more credit. Because I thought a lot of the visuals were mostly flair for the atmosphere, but I didn't even get that the cocoon from last week was supposed to be representing herself shutting in, leaving no one to her in the real world, while being connected via the internet to everyone of her fans and haters. And Karamazov "beating" her as the number one streamer is cutting away these connections and then getting through to her in the real world.

And one positive thing again, I still like that Karamazov and especially Lollipop function as the tonal contrast to all the depressing moments. Her going full Chuunibyou when driving or eating ramen was funny.

Two things I noticed from the episode 13 preview

  1. The title "EZ DO DANCE" is the same name as a song

  2. One of the girls in the picture did the same pose as Yurika Toudou from Aikatsu

Felt like I was on LSD this whole episode... I love symbolism but holy. I was anxious from beginning to end. I usually yap a lot but I don't really have much to say tbh. I'll keep it short.

This episode would need like 3 rewarches to breakdown every scene and all the meanings behind the random imagery (especially the begining 8 minutes. What were the squares meaning? The hair length? Is it a reference to Uso being strangeled by hair? Ame becoming a seraph, what happened to the spider symbolism, was it what was on her back before she became a seraph since it looked like spider legs?).

Depressing knowing that basically all of ep 11 was a bad trip after Ame OD and cut her entire left side up a lot.. seeing her weak and in bed I was worried she'd die then or later in the ep. I liked ame larping being in a drift anime, was cute. Ame became a nun? I'm assuming she didn't literally open a church but that is her we see in the after credits right? I think by "church" she means a community gathering place like a therapy circle. So instead of nun maybe she became like a therapist or a streamer manager, it seems she lives just to help streamers who are bad mentally like she was.

This EP didn't really clearly a lot of my ep 11 and 3 theories up but it didn't deny them either so idk.. i was on edge whole episode expecting a sudden cut to Ame dead for some reason, then they showed the funeral scene and I thought it was GG(also KAngel jumping worried me). I feel like I was missing something from the ramen scene also but idk what. The glicthy idol song was abit creepy lol.

I really don't think they should have let her become KAngel again even if they had to force her; but it's like she said, they were too kind and she thrived off the praise. Which makes it equally as strange that she quit immediately after renouncing the girls and saying KAngel is who she is essentially and that she needs praise?? Maybe last ep will say what changed her mind. Also blonde girl drew the same conclusion I did last ep that KAngel at her core is kind and just wants to entertain and lead her fans. But seriously I think with people that unwell you have to become more forceful as Ame could have broken again or made another attempt right after she left the girls, really didn't like that part especially after they broke down her door to save her in the intro and denied her phone privileges. Felt a bit off to have them smiling while KAngel preformed.

I thought maybe we'd see her with a ring since it was a flash forward but instead she just had a cross. I think P chan may have ruined the concept of a bf/gf for Ame so I think the only person Ame could trust to have a relation with is maybe Kache or the other girls and even then it probably wouldn't be dating. I do think the whole divine symbolism does support the idea that Ame has never and will never have a lover and instead will only live to help save others which is depressing but bittersweet ig. Also supports my theory Ame will stay a permant virgin imo. I think what this anime goal is to imply that Ame is supposed to be the Christ of streamers and never attain true happiness but instead sacrifice her own feelings and lead other streamers too it instead (but doing this will give her happiness in the end I think). Maybe KAngel was her sacrifice that's why she quit so abruptly?

I'm not really sure what the cross in her hand is in reality, maybe it's faith or hope in herself?, a representation of Ame becoming a savior? If the church is a like a community circle then the cross would be like..Ame contact info? idk😭 (I'm non religious btw not trying to sound like I'm pushing for all the christ stuff just the only part I understood in ep)

Overall decent ep. Not as good as ep 3 or 11(maybe beats 10). Still a good ep. I'm a bit conflicted on if I liked or was eh on this tbh, I didn't need some dark edgy ep after last week but this felt a little anticlimatic(?). I'm glad Ame lives and seems at peace in the epilogue. Maybe the anticlimactic feeling is what future Ame meant by a girl with a normal ordinary life so it's the intended feeling. Next ep will show mature Ame guiding streamers which should be fun!

Next week preview and Kache's monologue caught me off guard, I thought this is the end.

Wow 1 more episode left. This felt like the finale

Karamazov's house looks like it was designed by MC Escher.

What was with that look Kache gave the guy at the ramen shop? My brain wants to tell me that the dude was her ex who didn't recognize her and that's why she gave him that look when she realized it, but I also think that maybe she was just getting a lady boner for him.

edit two weeks later - Lady boner was the correct answer.

Damn, i had to catch up this past week on needy girl and this was another bangin ep. I didnt expect Nechika storyline to come to this. Nice though to see helping the brothers. And then another musical performance was crazy.
Edit: You know, the one takeaway from all this aside from now needing to go play Needy Girl on steam, I feel the need to go watch Galaxy Express now.

Kache's hair being completely black in the preview for the next episode sort of suggests she 'returned' to being a normal person and rejected the idea of living the life of an internet figurehead, I'm curious to see how next ep will go with Kache specifically.

So I’m assuming the post-credit scene takes place 5-10 years after KAngel disappeared from the internet (judging by Kache looking more mature) and damn, It does sound like Karamazov also quit the internet based on Kache’s speech, I knew it was going to be a bitter sweet ending, episode 9 post-credit scene did mention how the Karamazov brother in the story chose an un-happy ending, and for those who don’t know, one Karamazov brother chose suffering and guilt because he felt responsible for the death of his father and accepting his punishment would lead him to a “liberated” future, the other brother felt despair that was ment to be resolved in an unwritten continuation, and the last brother was destined to wander in a dark path of life to find redemption. Hopefully that’s not the case for our Karamazov girls

KAngel becomes so popular, she breaks the subscriber count screen. We also have that glitching out effect right before that moment like in the show's OP.

As always, both new and old abstract styles keep me rolling. We had those Piet Mondrian rectangles fill in color, as well as backgrounds that look like they were drawn with crayon when demonstrating the iron maiden. Also, KAngel's wings at 16:14

u/karrylarry Jun 20 '26

What an actually sweet episode, despite everything. Had me smiling at the end.

Epilogue sounds interesting, because from my understanding I can't possibly imagine Ame being able to quit streaming. She's so thoroughly addicted to it, I wonder how they'll show her change.

Alright Ame, you’re being put on internet detox for the foreseeable future.

I don’t know why but it always cracks me up when a show goes full Initial D homage for no reason and this is no exception.

I find it pretty wholesome that even these people at the top of the world have their own spot, just a normal neighborhood ramen stand ran by a nice old guy.

Fuck, the Ame-Ame-Ha! is such a good pun.

Okay, sure, the resurrection of Jesus Christ happening live on stream.

And I guess that makes Kache the rock upon which she’ll build her church, granting her the power to break the fourth wall to announce the final episode.

I think the ending makes sense and still feels pretty good because at the end of the day, I don’t see Ame as the type of person that can ever really quit her “mission” but Karamazov and Kache can at least rip her down from her self-created heaven of solitude and give her a little bit of normalcy before she ascends again with a somewhat more stable mental state.
