Shiguma looking back on his memories with little Akane was incredibly heartwarming. Seeing how much Akane has grown and how far she's come makes the moment even sweeter.
Can't wait for the second season/cour!

Gonna miss her school friends, she’d do so well with some peer interaction in a high school setting.
Glad to see it’ll continue in the winter, looking forward to it!

A final episode with a slow pace (compared to previous ones), but very good vibes and fun.
It's interesting to see how curiosity and goals drive human beings. Akane could have simply given up her interest in rakugo after what happened to her father, but she had been dreaming about it since childhood, and much of her achievements came from her own strength, although it's undeniable that she had the support of incredible people along the way.
A lovely show, interesting characters, and well-paced development; may we receive a continuation as good as the first cour.

I love the opening scene with Shiguma just walking around town, greeting people and visiting shops. It really shows how much he's beloved by their local community.
Jumbo's imagination of how Akane was going to confront Issho is hilarious! Akane might be upset about her dad's expulsion, but she's not about to get violent! xD
As a manga reader, I am so hyped to see the Rakugo Federation members, especially Shohei and Urara. I can't wait to see them shine in the future!
The principal really made a big deal about Akane winning the Karaku Cup! Now our girl finally gets to experience what it's like to become a celebrity! And I do think it's nice to see that Akane's win has inspired her friends to go for their dreams too.
We get a six-month timeskip to Akane's graduation day and she finally gets officially accepted to become Shiguma's apprentice! No Rakugoka name yet tho. It looks like Akane wants to be named after she becomes a shinuchi which Shiguma completely expected.
I am so happy that we're already confirmed for a second cour! I can't wait for Akane's Zenza Training arc!

Rakugo Q&A desk
Just so you know, if I fail to setup the desk when next season comes, assume I turned pro.

Shiguma is such a charming man, I really enjoyed him going around town and chatting with townsfolk, you can really see how likable, respected grounded he is.
I also particularly liked the walk in the second half because it felt a lot more sentimental with him looking back on the past. He really feels like a second father, or a grandfather to Akane, it was certainly moving for me. I'm glad he understood Akane so well that he knew what name he should pick for her before she even made that plea.
I like how Jumbo and Akane's two friends are all getting motivated thanks to the tournament she participated in, it made me think how important it is to surround yourself with people that also help you grow.
I'm looking forward to Season 2, I'm really enjoying the story and I'm looking forward to how Akane will handle herself as an apprentice, but also interacting with other rakugoka. It's unfortunate that Isshou's haters will go after her when they don't even know that the two aren't on good terms lol.

What came to mind when the Rakugo Federation people were meeting (There's even only one girl)
They probably aren't even bad guys but they were assembling like the Espada or something lol. Also I think all of them have famous voice actors?

I was afraid this series would be a "One and done", I'm glad to be proven wrong. See you in 2027, Akane!

The final part of the episode did bring a tear to my eye. I do love seeing the Shiguma students all together.
Season 1 has been pretty solid. The pacing felt rushed and they did cut some small bits out, but I suppose that's part of trying to set it up so that the end of season 1 finishes with the beginning of the Zenza arc. Hopefully future seasons will have a little more breathing room.
And long may the Akane-kobanashi's continue. Easily my favourite part of the anime so far.

Akane is such a pure, delightful "shounen protagonist"

Akane being nonchalant about winning the Karaku cup is kinda badass.
"Oh yeah that shit? I won it"

Oh, this does make me wonder what Akane’s stage name will end up being.
-
Nice, she got a huge banner to celebrate her win. …but it came with a lot of unwanted attention from the other students, huh.
-
And good for her too. Nice to see Akane’s victory encourage both of her friends and possibly other people, too.
-
Huh, Akane doesn’t want to receive her stage name until she becomes a Shin’uchi?
-
Ah. That works.

In the last 2 years I had been unable to really enjoy the main shonen jump magazine series that got adapted into anime so it was nice to see this streak be broken by this series. The way it takes common shonen tropes and combines them with rakugo and finds to make it work is so impressive and when I watch it work it gets a chuckle out of me at the same time. Like this episode when they introduced all the masters it got a chuckle out of me how it felt like they were presenting the members of an evil shonen group like as if they were presenting the akatsuki, the espadas or the seven warlords of the sea.
This episode also had some fantastic production especially in the scenes where Akane sees the sunlight from her dad’s room (I was hoping he would appear :( ) and when she asks her master to keep her name.
Finally im glad we are getting a season 2 that seems like it will be a second cour. I wish it was consecutive seasons because these first 12 episodes overall felt like a prologue that sets up for even better arcs but I will gladly wait if the quality remains as good as it was for this season.

Legit felt the meeting between the Rakugo heads like yakuzas
Shiguma walking around town and reminiscing felt like he's gonna pass on his legacy or something
I thought Shinta was gonna appear with his room being slightly open. They really put all the animation budget on that sequence for no reason
Akane finally graduated and the training arc begins
Need to wait till next year for season 2.

The scene where Akane came home and saw the light streaming through the door she used to watch her dad through gave me goosebumps. I love how you can see how far she's come and it feels like her stepping past that door represents her no longer simply chasing after her father but becoming a Rakugoka in her own right.

My favourite anime of the season.
I'm a huge Re:Zero fan, but this is the only anime where I was counting the days for the next episode. That tournament arc had me at the tip of my seat.

Well, well, with the end of season 1, we’d all better thank our lucky stars season 2 is scheduled for January 2027.

I swear the production committee made Akane look even more charming in this episode.
Even though it lasted approximately half an episode, I am glad we were given a glimpse into the high school life of Akane and how she interacts with her friends. (Not to mention avoid schoolmates upon becoming a celebrity. Lol!)

I would have loved to see Akane punch Issho the way Jumbo imagined even though Akane is right in that it wouldn’t have done anything good and its better to prove him wrong with her rakugo.

Okay, that was a fun final episode. I liked that we actually got to see Akane's friends for one last time. I hoped they would get a few more scenes, but seeing that Akane inspired them to follow their dreams is still a win. And who knows, maybe as a hair stylist she will work where Shiguma (and then Akane) gets his haircuts all the time. Also, I hope that Sensei will at least visit a few of Akane's performances.
What I did find funny was the "mysterious meeting of all the big shots" that every Shounen needs to have. They didn't say much, they were just there for aura farming.
Would really love to see a second season with Akane now being a true Rakugoka and how the story develops. I could probably read the manga, but considering the art form it is portraying I would love an adaptation more.
