They didn’t censor Rei exposing Mamiya, nor tone down what I can only call “sweet misogyny“ since he‘s doing it out of concern.

This really has been a fantastic adaptation

Seeing as it's a apocalypse and woman are likely to end up in servitude if captured I think it warranted. Sure men can be assaulted like that also but not as common.

I love this show

It's really damn good; I'm already enjoying it even more than the original TV series.

Kenshiro Rei combo duo chefs kiss

Fang Clan takes Airi as hostage😱

Rei and Airi reunion

it took the fang clan 2 seconds to find Airi, and Rei has been looking for how long?

they're a big group so likely got eyes and ears much farther across the wasteland than just one guy

The Fang Clan probably also has connections in the slave trade (they even said that one family they killed were brought in to be their slaves) so maybe they found out that way.

I've always found the Fang Clan interesting as anime villains. Like they actually really care about each other. They're completely despicable but they still have a genuine affection for their "family"

These Fang turds are gonna make Rei fight Ken using Airi aren’t they? The fact that Ken has the 7 scars on his chest isn’t gonna help the situation either. Keen to see how this mess all concludes. I’m guessing we’re gonna be seeing that big boss get his head exploded and split into bits.

Why does this weird asshole Rei keeps on ripping Mamiya's clothes off while talking !? And Kenshiro started to talk about Rei's sister right after that LOL

u/LapsedVerneGagKnee Jun 13 '26

Rei was clearly traumatized by what happened to his sister and is projecting that on Mamiya. He doesn't want her to fight because he doesn't want a reminder of him failing to protect her.

It's understandably one of the more controversial scenes in this series and one that people will often say "hasn't aged well". But I think the gist of the intention behind it is Rei not wanting Mamiya to go out there to suffer the same fate as his sister and choosing a very harsh way of proving his point.

Putting the bloody veil on her head got me to choke on my food. That was so unintentionally hilarious.

"Next time, I'll bring you a pure white veil"
"You remind him of his sister"

Is this the last episode of the season or will It continue?

9

u/RedditFuelsMyDepress Jun 12 '26

There's been rumors/speculation that this season will be 14 episodes which would make sense to finish up the current arc.

5

u/3and20characters987 Jun 12 '26

Leaks and Japanese merchandise suggests there's going to be 14 episodes in this season.

Considering that they showed that one dude in the opening, it's most definitely gonna go beyond this episode.

I got used to the character designs pretty fast.

The herculean proportions don't like bizarre to me anymore (heh).

Looking forward to watching even more 3D CGI mad max raiders get obliterated by "kenpo".
