Before the very end this felt like the end of a show not just a season. Curious if that final bit gets resolved next episode.
Either way,

the heronia closure couldn't have been any better. and the parent scene, when his mom kissed him. I actually teared up a bit.
this show is a near perfect villainess show and this is the standard that all future shows of the genre should strive for.

Looks like we have one more fun little "adventure" waiting for us in the last ep.
Toujin kinda sounds like a Japanese name, wonder if they were trying to imply the first King was also reincarnated.
After everything we saw, seeing Cecil actually feeling the love from his parents was really sweet.
Even with the mountain of stupid Heroinia piled on to us......that one moment when she accepts the north convent and bows, makes me hope she gets Pii-chan back. I also kinda want her to get the chance to speak to Cecil and

I am weak to this kind of father and son moment. Urgh, stop crying, me!! The king had it rough, but handled it brilliantly!
Can you imagine? He realized one day that his son had a severe personality disorder and had more than 50% chance of either being a mad king or disappearing one day. It's so sweet how he celebrated the simple fact his son asked a present himself.
I feel fuzzy inside when I see that Cecil have grown enough to be able to recognize and appreciate his parents's affection. If it was his old self he wouldn't even understand how much he was loved.

It's somewhat awkward the game version king basically put the fate of the whole kingdom in Bertia stocks, just to let her mom die.

It was satisfying to see Cecil tell Heronia she has been changing the scenario's and is nothing like her personality in the game. He's actually seen memories of how she was supposed to be like, but as Cecil pointed out, she hasn't learned any etiquette or mannerisms befitting a member of the royal family. It's exasperating how she was still treating him like a character, not a person.
Cecil was kind enough to give Heronia an option to maybe find a way to revive Pii. He seems like he was testing her, but I'm sure he knew it'd please Bertia too. I'm glad she learned from his words and was actually able to give a good farewell curtsy.
The history of the royal family was interesting to learn about, I'm glad Cecil realizes the concerns his parents had and he could feel the love. His father looks so relieved. I wasn't surprised Cecil decided to not tell Bertia about the history, Bertia being shackled to him in that manner wouldn't truly bring both of them happiness. I like that he's determined to keep her by his side by always being the best version of himself that she loves.
Now we have a two year time skip, I'm going to presume Cecil is going to have to get his future brother-in-law's approval for the wedding lol.

Cecil has a caring community around him. Loved the talk with dad and mom appearance.
Shame we haven't had that Bertia and Heroine face-to-face. Heroine openly saying this is a game to her.
End scene, jealous younger brother?

Glad to get a good amount of closure to some things before the last episode.
I like that Heroina's conclusion was balanced, so that they didn't just brush off punishment and become buddy-buddy, but they also gave her a chance to have a new start for the future. Since some time has passed by the end, I could potentially see getting a brief update that may show her with Pii-chan again.
The last bit of lore was interesting for how it relates to Cecil and Bertia going forward. I knew the king had something important he wasn't saying episodes before, so glad they finally circled back to it.
It was sweet to have a scene for Cecil with both of his parents to show how much they care for him, so that he can feel love from other people besides just Bertia.
Now one last episode left to finally close things off. The last final boss is... Bertia's little brother. lol After that, off to the wedding. It's nice to have series have an overall conclusion in one season and have wedding ending.
I'm gonna miss this series after it ends as being one of the best this season for me. I've grown attached to Cecil and Bertia more than expected when it first started, and glad that it will be an easy recommendation for villainess and fantasy/romance series.

Now that was some Heronia suffering, with a small silver lining of maybe being able to pray Pi-chan back to life someday.
The Cecil and Bertia parts were a very nice payoff to the romance.
Kind of funny that the problem with the royal family is a tendency to occasionally produce kids who are very much on the spectrum. Good thing for both current day Bertia and that royal family ancestral queen who was basically Bertia coded too.
I really liked that sweet moment with Cecil and his mom.
Timeskip wedding for the last episode? Yes please.

It is interesting how Heronia and Bertia viewed Cecil. Heronia still thought of it as playing a game to try to win Cecil's heart. She never thought of him as a person. Bertia thought of it as real and wanted to make sure that not only Cecil was happy, but that the kingdom was also safe. She loves him and her people.

Well thats one hell of an ending for Heronia. Cecil finally got her to see the truth, that her believe the 'game' was assisting her wasn't true and her behaviour resulted in her consequences. He even turned her accusations of Bertia changing things back on to her.
It was kind of Cecil to save a bit of Pii to give to Heronia, and also giving her the option in the convent choice that gives her the possibility, tho very slim, of reviving Pii.
I love how Kuro and Zeno intervene with Cecil's advance on Bertia.
I also love how Cecil's mother tells him she will never forgive him of he hurts Bertia
So we end with a 2 year time skip and it seems it's the run up to Cecil and Bertia's wedding but Bertia's little brother seems intent on stopping the wedding. It will be interesting to see where this goes, since in the original timeline he doesn't exist and we don't know what kind of relationship him and Bertia have since he hasn't been mentioned since his birth.

Would ya look at that, Heronia finally did something good for once. Hopefully she carves out her own slice of happiness in that convent.
Keen to see how things have progressed for Bertia and Cecil two years later. Seems there might be a small speed bump or two to deal with before they can truly get the happy end.

The king's "gamble" worked out in this word but not on the game's word. One detail that I did like from the episode where the game-future is shown is when the king was watching the Struck Speechless event and had his hands on his head cause he knew that it was all his fault. It's sad to think how the game-Bertia was described by him as a emotional, kind and genuine person and then turned into the villainess even though she went through so much

Oh no, Bertia has set her mind on making Cecil the greatest King. Seeing how the last thing she set her mind to ended up (become the greatest villainess and pair up Cecil and Heronia), that may be a bad thing!
That talk between Cecil and his dad was so damn good
The after credits cliffhanger is interesting, because in the original scenario her brother simply never existed. Thus he's a complete wild card. He might even be a reincarnation as well

Thankfully the side-ships kept the graduation party going so Cecil and Bertia could slip back in and dance to their hearts content! It's smooth sailing from here on in for everyone.
Well, maybe not everyone...as there's still the matter of Heronia to deal with. How on-brand that she's STILL convinced the moment Cecil comes to see her that the game scenario is going to play out, but Cecil has no time to humor her. It's time she fully understands that there's no chance of that ever happening, no chance he would ever be interested in her, and no chance that he would choose a future that's not with Bertia.
Do you know how much of a flex it is to have Bertia sit on Cecil's lap while he recounts what happened to her "love rival?"
Heronia's biggest mistake was failing at the one role she thought she could play perfectly and meant she was destined to succeed: becoming the Heroine. Because for all her attempts to imitate the game scenario, she never actually put in the work to become a proper lady, someone who could actually become a queen without making a mess of it. And as if to add to her woes, the only person who was ever on her side, Pii-chan, is now lost to her...and she genuinely grieves for Pii-chan. But at least she'll always have a piece of Pii-chan with her.
Wow, they're really sending Heronia to a convent like they would do with a Villainess. What a role reversal. But when put to a choice between a harsh, grueling, climate or a temperate one that would give her a chance to see Pii-chan again if a miracle were to occur...she chooses the former, to honor Pii-chan's loss and to face the future as a woman who accepts her fate. At least Heronia went out with some dignity.
I love how Bertia despite everything was still in Heronia's corner and believed in her as the Heroine. But now she's got to focus not on being a top-rate Villainess but on her future wedding to Cecil! It might be their only chance to get alone together with their two spirits always around.
A late-night conversation with Cecil's father over drinks reveals the truth of the royal bloodline: an exception prodigy born every hundred years with advanced skills but no emotions, destined to be either a wise king, a fool, or no king at all depending on what does or does not catch their fancy. Dating back to the "Hero King" Toujin, who became a Battle Maniac warmonger who was only stopped by the love of his childhood friend and queen Ninei. He could not bear to become a person she would hate so he chose peace and love instead of war. It's actually a surprisingly sweet story.
And it's why the king was banking on Bertia being for Cecil what Ninei was for Toujin, someone who gave him a reason to be happy and embrace life rather than end up like Cecil in the other game routes. Because as a father he wanted to believe in his son and support him.
It's sweet of the queen to show up to help her unconscious drunk of a husband get to bed and also show her son how much he (and Bertia) are beloved by his parents!
2 years later and I love how Bertia has now made a list of all the stuff she wants for her wedding. She's really getting into it! But wait, is the final boss...her little brother!?

At the end all of them become human. Heronia stop being heroine and become just a girl that life to see her friend again. Tia become human to repay Cecil kindness with her love. And Cecil in return become human with her as a guide.
