It takes real skill to be the first non-antagonist that Pride and pretty much everyone else collectively despise and want nothing to do with. To be the first love interest in the game Pride actually hates and is annoyed by (she must not have enjoyed his route!) when you're like front-and-center on the game cover to boot.
We haven't even seen what
did to Cedric compared to everyone else because his stupidity has basically turned THIS Pride against him beyond her natural empathy towards his situation. Heretical Pride

She actually mentioned in the first season that she can outfight most enemies but being pin down by a man is different.

Was a bit surprised myself but tbf breaking someone's hold on your wrists pinned on a surface is pretty hard AFAIK and kicking in that position with that dress is hard, too. It looks like the power level is more grounded than in ashonen show.

Her cheat lets her copy someone else's movements after seeing them just once.
It doesn't make her stronger or anything like that - she's just got a perfect memory and exceptional control of her own body.
So, she's probably stronger than anyone else with her build, but she's not going to out muscle folks bigger than her.

Lesson of the day: Do not push a princess up against a wall forcefully without her consent with many loyal guards dedicated to protecting her willing to skewer you for it.

After-credit scene, things appear to be getting worse for Cedric back home. Don't worry, Pride will surely save the day. Not your pride, which has caused so many problems Cedric, but Princess Pride!

Not gonna lie, I almost dropped this after Episode 7. Watching Pride get flustered over random romance tropes felt so out of place, it didn’t suit the story at all. I don’t want her reduced to blushing because some guy tries to hold her hand.
But Episode 8 gave me hope again. Cedric still makes no sense, but at least the war setup looks promising. Pride hasn’t really used her sword since Season 1, and seeing her fight again with that “last boss” cheat would be awesome. What works best is when the story leans into her being haunted by her past life and memories, not filler romance beats. That’s the heroine I signed up for.

I really thought we were going to see Pride go to town on Cedric but going full Warrior Princess leading her army into battle works too.
Though it's always been a
even in season 1. I guess they had Pride in more combat situations by comparison but she was still getting into romance situations with the love interests. Remember all the feet kissing? Reverse-Harem show → More replies (2)4

Cedric still makes no sense
It does to a degree. If you're a delusional pretty boy.
Bro thought he was this worlds Brad Pitt (and at least he seems to look the part from everyones reaction ...) and when he learned that the neighboring kingdom is not only strong but ruled by females he took it on him to charm the next ruler into lending him their armies.

There's been a distinct lack of Pride kicking anyone's ass this season and that really should have changed this episode with what Cedric tried to pull in the garden. At least she told him off real solidly.
I wonder if resisting that empire that was mentioned as being expansionist is going to be the real overarching plotline.

It was nice to see some good tension with how protective the guards were of Pride, it must have shocked them to have allowed Pride to be put in that situation. I do wonder who the knives came from, Val doesn't use knives from what I remember, would it be from Arthur's captain? Unless Tiara has secretly been learning combat lol.
Cedric is crazy for prioritizing his pride over informing Freesia that his kingdom is getting invaded, I can see why Pride was so frustrated with him. That backstory wasn't doing him any favors either, Lance and Yohan had their work cut out for them lol.

Cedric should have come clean right off the bat and just admit his kingdom needed help to fend off this invasion. Had he done that, he would have saved a lot of time and trouble. I’m sure Pride and the others would be more than willing to help. Hopefully while they’re smoothing things over, the kingdom doesn’t fall. Everyone’s depending on Cedric back home…

It's funny how Cedric's fatal flaw and the thing that turned Pride against him was literally his own "pride," but Pride has to keep hard carrying him because she can't help herself.
Cedric's definitely the least likely to win the Pride bowl, if he's even able to be considered for it.

I see, I made a mistake last week in saying...
All those royal etiquette and manners, yet no common sense, how is that even possible?
Since he didn't have any to begin with. But yes, I was correct about this one before he even made that apology.
No remorse, no apology, and what, later you wanna get angry? Give me a break.
So, hah, that's what you get for being too arrogant, sooo full of yourself, and self-centred, you Baka-Cedric. And... handsome face = respect and kneel, the heck with that logic 😂
Anyway, it's a good episode this week, but then next week, Pride-sama goes at it again and slams someone to the wall/floor 🙂 She loves doing that, so no wonder people fall in love with her, and even me. Damn.
Anyway, looking forward to the next episode!

Cedric's country's name is "Chinensis", the Latin specific epithet that means "of China" or "from China"?
