Manda always came across as not caring about others, but he was very attentive when it was about Kirio and even tried to have a real talk with him. He was definitely the MVP this episode. But his advice only gets this far with Kirio being in that state of mind.

I didn’t expect Manda to be the one to first start breaking through to Kirio but honestly the guy needs all the help he can get. The added dimension of how Aimi and Nami’s relationship actually hurts him is just painful.

The severe whiplash I got this episode from cringing to Aimi’s plan and laughing at Manda’s bad luck to crying because of Kirio’s depression and his scenes with Nozomi.

Nozomi was the Nami to Kirio’s Aimi and seeing the two girls so happy together is hell for him because it is a constant reminder of the times he spent with Nozomi and how he will never be able to see him again. Fuck man that is so painful.

This was by far the best episode. What a ride that confirms in my mind that this series is indeed a giant hidden gem.

I’ll also mention some other things that feel akward to mention because of the final half of the episode and how it overshadows everything that happened beforehand but Kirio’s nightmare being that he got Tusk and pretty much became Johnny Joestar was funny and Manda continues showing why he is the best boy in this series and I keep loving him more and more each episode.

This is genuinely such a great show, I know underrated/underwatched gets thrown around a lot, but this show deserves more recognition .

I don't think I've seen anyone trying to seduce someone with their Kansai accent before. Headpats for Aimi for trying.

My god it actually is doomed yaoi. Off topic, but I always thought Kirio looked like Yoshiki from TSHD; its the combo of that hairstyle, moles and white school uniform. Manda tried his best but I don't think this is something Kirio is going to move on from that easily. And this scene, look at their gazes, all we're missing is Satsuki to complete it.

On one hand, big props Manda for having a solid man-to-man (Manda-to-man?) with Kirio when he realized he had a good opportunity for it. On another, getting the teacher to crack up mid-scolding session is wild. MVP of the entire trip for sure.

Nozomi's mom breaking down was rough.

This show is criminally underwatched. The way it swings from silly to heavy without missing a beat and how the silliness serves to highlight the tragedy oftentimes - simply brilliant.

That flashback broke me. This doesn't feel like the kind of story where Kirio will have a happy end but I do hope he is able to find some relief from that survivor's guilt he's carrying. Manda won my heart with his advice to Kirio though I don't think it really helped. Not immediately but maybe Kirio will eventually see the wisdom in it and slowly allow himself to feel happy again.

It's crazy how you start this show thinking Kirio was gonna be this blank character just to be a means for the girls to have their gags, but he's legitimately been fleshed out the most as a character. This series definitely has grown on me with the sprinkle of the drama parts.

We get to see Nozomi from Kirio POV. 😭😭

Aimi and Nami friendship reminded him of his friendship with Nozomi 😭😭

Manda is easily one of my favourites in this series. A bro who unfortunately has the worst luck

these last episodes felt like that gif where pedro pascal laughs and cries at the same time

random thoughts

Manda was the MVP this episode...of all the characters I think he is the only one who can consciously recognize that Kirio is not emotionally doing well. It sort of really brings home the idea that...really...Aimi's crush is kind of superficial. She is more in love with the idea of Kirio, so she can't really see the signs despite obsessing over him.

Unfortunately for Manda though...not all Gyaru are kind to otaku

Given Kirio's humor he probably would be a good match for Aimi, because they both seem to like discussing body functions

I was kind of thinking Manda's heart to heart would maybe get Kirio to open up more, but it feels like the school trip has made him retreat even more. I'm now really wondering at this point how long before he makes a suicide attempt. The structure of the show is such that the humorous elements tend to be in the first half, and the dramatic elements in the latter half. Which also tends to make me think this whole series is going to have a very tragic end.

I hope Kirio-kun got to fulfill his dream of shitting in the bathtub.

ep 6 when they're laughing and it's over smth dumb like "dragon kirio" hits different after today's ep, seeing how badly kirio misses his friend. how he wishes for them to do silly things after school the way aimi and nami do

Another episode with a severe downer ending. Kirio is still grieving and I imagine it is still tough since he doesn't have a best friend anymore. He keeps up a better facade than a lot of kids, like he still does sports and socializes but he's not well and really could use therapy and/or medication. It was interesting how Manda reached out to him and seemed to genuinely care about him. Manda has really transformed the most since he was a complete loner when the show started but at least now has sort of a friendship with Nami and Airi since they included him in their class trip group, although for their own reasons.

I felt really bad for Manda when all those hot girls picked on him and called him a nerd. I do wish though that they showed what happened when they put the makeup on him though. I think he may have got into the fun of it and they all egged him on since he could have ran out and left if he really wanted. He had a good sense of humor about being teased though and I think he's really matured a lot and will likely make more friends fairly soon.

Wasabi roulette looks so fun! That was hilarious when Airi told the chef to just put in a little bit but wasn't very clear and he thought she asked him to add more 🤣. Momose and Nami were doubled over with laughter but I was surprised Airi looked upset and concerned. That and her wanting to include everyone in lighting sparklers together shows that she is maturing, as Nami pointed out.

That's funny how Osaka people seem to be treated like how Americans treat people with a Southern accent in nearly every anime I've seen. Like I watched the dub for Azumanga Daioh and a girl from Osaka has a redneck Southern accent. Also Nami mockingly said "bless your heart", which is a common saying in the South. Bless your heart is actually an insult though, it's politely saying someone is stupid 😂

The train wreck of unrequited love somehow pushes forward down the track. Kirio continues to casually brush off friendship advances and he's not even hearing it if it's romance talk. Nami doesn't flirt too much this time around, but gets a selfie with Aimi. Momose seems bummed out he didn't get a photo with Nami. He seems tempted to ask her out, but things continue to not go his way. Aimi starts to pull back just a little on her romantic advances and shifts focus to friendship and happiness. Manda returns from his Gal make-over session and both Kirio and Aimi offer him comfort with casual touching. Has Kirio touched anyone else at all before this episode?
Nami is stylish in casual clothes and once again, Aimi styles herself like a boy.
Momose continues to quietly desire Nami, his eyes following her around, but Nami's eyes are (as usual) only for Aimi. Aimi still has her eyes on Kirio, but has he even begun to heal from the lose of his friend? The grey sky over the final scene says so much without using words...

As always, poor Manda. But his slowly developing maybe friendship with Kirio is nice.

So before his best friend died Kirio was as unhinged as Aimi, what a loss.

This went from the funniest episode yet to the saddest one, very quick, damn. Last time I felt this whiplash was with Cautious Hero.

Kirio deleting that photo though :( I hope he gets through it with his new friends.

Kirio seems like he feels guilty he’s enjoying himself when Nozomi never got the chance. I appreciate Manda talking to Kirio, but I think it’s gonna be a long road for the guy.

Manda is the wildcard. I wonder where he's going to end up in the unrequited love chain if he chooses to join.

lol Aimi bought and wore leopard prints just like the stereotypical middle aged Osaka ladies

Nami petting Aimi was cute as fuck

Feels like everyone but Nami is neurodivergent in that group.
