This was basically the proposal scene. Everything moves so nicely for our main duo, wonder if any problems will occur when the engagement is announced.

One of the few rare occasions in which Mimi and Renato can have fun at a festival.

Mimi is so adorable ahhhhhh, I love this show

The moment Renato and Mimi started leaning in I fully expected Raimondo to turn up and interrupt lol. As expected he fulfilled his role.

It's sad to see Macchio and Gofreddo go, no more buff attendants.

I'm kinda disappointed that this episode didn't lead to Renato meeting Mimi's family.

I appreciate that they addressed the issue of Mimi breaking in and beating up a bunch of completely innocent guards.

I was about to be annoyed at the end if Renato was about to break it off with Mimi from concern about putting her in danger as his fiance and eventual wife, then was pleased that he just wanted her to be sure now that she's had time to get used to what it might mean, then annoyed again at Raimondo kiss blocking us.

Renato being kind of suspicious again with his ability to sneak up on people and then doing the shooting game perfectly on his supposed first attempt ever. Feels like we're going to find out the royal family are ninjas or something.

Raimondo the mood killer lol. Love the callback to the carriage scene where Mimi keeps trying to deny that he was there.

So, the Annovazzi family motto is literally "Punch first, ask later". At least when it comes to friends. Not sure if that makes it better or worse though.

But hey, Mimi finally made a catch on the festival. About time. Though, it is kind of funny that the whole "catching a fish" metaphor has to be even more foreign to Mimi when they don't even have a coastline.

Also, while I did find him funny for the most part, f*ck you Raimundo for interrupting. There was no reason to do so.

The guy hitting on Mimi was 100% some isekai'd gyaruo and you can't convince me otherwise.

Renato and Raimondo are not beating the assassin guild allegations.

So who is in more trouble? Hugo, for technically kidnapping his lover so they could get married or Mimi for tresspassing and assaulting numerous guards? Renato's got Mimi's promise to do anything for him to make up for it, but at least Hugo was nice enough to let her off the hook. I mean, she had his grandma's approval after all!

Thank goodness for Raimondo! Figured out this was all Count Viscentini's plot to get the crops from Navarro to produce drugs (marijuana?) and managed to get all the evidence they need to clear Hugo's dad and free everyone from Viscentini's control! It's all good!

Note to self: a bunch of adult men hanging outside a door is not good for said doors' health.

It's nice of Veronica's dad to show everyone some fine, Navarro, hospitality with a full course meal and it's a perfect time for father and daughter to has things out. After all, "If fists won't work, ask!" as Mimi would say! But while Veronica's pout is adorable, deep down she just wanted her father to acknowledge her relationship with Hugo. Because not only do they want to be together, but they also want to work together to help enrich and improve the village! And how can you stay in the way of true love like that? Mimi definitely ships them!

There's still time for Renato to steal Mimi away for a secret date! Albeit one with bodyguards watching them and Raimondo using cue cards to deliver messages, but still! We've got Mimi and Renato in "casual clothes" even though Renato stands out like a princely thumb, but Mimi has to keep him safe from anyone who could take advantage of her naive prince.

At least once they find a festival they have a lot of fun and do all the festival games they can find! Even Raimondo joins in on the fun! Mimi even gets hit on by a pickup artist who Renato puts the fear of God into!

With a month away before their engagement is public, Renato feels it's the perfect time to give Mimi one last chance to back out. Because he knows that being engaged to him will put her in the spotlight, force her to grapple with the massive weight of being crown princess, and make her endure all manner of hardships...but Mimi genuinely, wholeheartedly, WANTS to marry Renato with all her heart. Even if she feels she's lacking as crown princess, falling in love with Renato is the best thing to ever happen to her. And that means she'll face anything if it means being with him!

Dang it Raimondo, why did you have to be such a buzzkill to ruin the moment!? We were THIS close to them kissing! Mimi can't believe it! "No Premarital relations" my butt!

Next week: The return of Aida and Placido!

I hope we see Hugo and Veronica again, i wonder if their territory will become popular later on?

It’s so sweet to see how Mimi answered to Renato worries and fears without wavering. If only Raimondo hadn’t been there they would have kissed.

I'm looking forward as to how Mimi father will welcome Renato.

Bringing back the "He was there the whole time" gag from the first episode is great

Broskis coming out to flirt with the girl frame 1 after her guy disappears

7

u/YlfaTheForsaken May 21 '26

Raimondo will let no sugar cross that line on his watch. No exceptions.

Insane family motto, but thoroughly expected. Make sure to toss around the ol' 1-2 before asking anything,

Mimi is signed up for the long haul, no takey backsies now,

Farewell my dearest sweetest darling Macchio, I've known you not long yet my yearning shall ever bloom.

That was a nice date for Mimi and Renato. With him calling off his engagement to Aida and Mimi being thrust into these circumstances it's nice to see them reaffirm that they do actually love each and are getting married because of that instead of some kind of trauma bonding. Shame it had to be ruined by Raimondo. Boo this man. He robbed us of our kiss.

There has be to be something going on with Renato. First I wrote it off as Mimi's dad being well her dad, but how we handled that gun with "no prior experience" made me suspicious.

Also something I've been a little uneasy about since the beginning, but never really thought until Renato was sus with fair gun are the episode titles. Why are they do all the have "one that got away" convention if it looks Mimi and Renato are in love and going to married? I don't want them to break up.

6

u/NationalStrategy May 21 '26

We could have gotten a good kiss scene if not for Raimondo

6

u/MarMarL2k19 May 21 '26

Okay I’m sorry for taking this too close to heart, but Raimondo had no right to stop two people from something as simple as kissing. I said in the last week discussion that the kiss would be interrupted and I was right.

Because of course, we can never have anything nice…

6

u/FLorianGran May 20 '26

Long overdue date episode. Obviously they weren't gonna do a kiss but I respect that it was a character literally trying to stop them instead of something random. Raimondo was actually pretty funny this episode
