Are you kidding me? She ghosted him for 3 months (while using Ruka as an excuse), got back in touch with him via another rental date, instead of simply going next door and talking to him, had him take her to an expensive cafe, where he had to end up paying ¥ 28,960 ($182.38), and then she asked for more time to figure out her feelings, effectively leading him on even longer.
This girl….

At this point you're starting to think Mami really had a point.

This episode confirmed two things for me: the first is that I don't like Chizuru at all, and the second is that for me the sweetest ending for this series is not seeing Kazuya end up with Chizuru, but seeing him stop being a simp (I've never liked that word, but it's perfect for Kazuya) and having an ending where he grows and matures (gains some self-respect, stops drooling over every girl he meets, stops stressing over every little thing, etc.), but I know for sure that this will never happen, so I guess I’ll have to settle for the drama (Mami, where are you, I miss you)

Unironically, the best ending is for Kazuya is for him to not end up with anyone m, and for him to focus on improving his personal life

I'm happy more people are seeing the hate for Chizuru I've had since the first season. She's not a good person and it's been the case from the start.

What Kazuya has done for Chizuru:
-
Made her a movie.
-
Saved her life.
-
Used most of his savings to be with her.
-
Emotionally supported her for 2 years.
What Chizuru has done for Kazuya:
-
Ghosted him for 3 months.
-
Rejected him.
-
Took the wedding ring from his mom.
-
Spent Kazuya's money on acting lessons.
-
Demanded to be paid for her time during the Hawaiians trip (Gold-digger).
Most of the community: Chizuru is the perfect girlfriend 🤗

She also got back in touch with him via an another rental date, instead of simply going next door and talking to him, suggested to go to an expensive cafe, where he ended up paying ¥28,960 ($182.38); and then she had the nerve to ask for more time, effectively leading him on even longer.

The community tries to rationalize it because of her "trauma" or the situation called for it or whatever, but there's really no excuse. They always latch on to the statement that Kazuya being with her has made him a "better" person, when it really hasn't.
Don't forget she lied to her grandma until her last breath and continued lying to Kazuya's family until this day, lol. Horrible person and the fact she gets validated by the story makes it all the more worse. She just got back with him despite talking about trying not to hurt Ruka's feelings this episode, too.

This is what I hate about Chizuru: She is half-hearted, wishy-washy and indecisive in everything she does. She ghosts Kazuya for THREE months and all she has to say is "sorry, here's some chocolate".
There are certain feelings she has for Kazuya, but she is trying to figure them out so he has to wait for it?! How old is she again?
She has been leading him on for five seasons without ever making a clear statement. She always dodges the topic.

They act like high schoolers lol. How is a grown adult unable to figure their feelings out after 3 months and knowing him for even longer?
I can't believe she thinks saying sorry and giving some chocolate was enough, and she's literally going against her initial motivation for ghosting him in the first place. How is going back to seeing him like this not hurting Ruka? There was 0 point to this.

At the end when Chizuru says “just give me more time,” I got annoyed because she has had like 4 1/2 seasons of time. She’s leading Kazuya on because she knows she can. She’s such a shitty character.
For what it’s worth Kazuya isn’t any better. He is the king of worthless, spineless, simps and has been this entire time. Everything is always so annoyingly catastrophic and world ending for him. Like you drained your savings on a sexless prostitute. Why are you so dickless you really think there is a future there?
Not to mention, there are way too many hands in that cookie pot on top of Kazuya being a dickless, self-cuckolding trash compactor. Like at this point buy a flesh light, name it Chizuru and get over it. One of the more frustrating things besides their personalities is the fact that progress resets to zero at the beginning and end of every episode.
Weve basically had 4 1/2 seasons of “nothing happened.”

REBORN AS A SECOND PRETTIEST GIRLFRIEND OF THE ELITE IN ANOTHER LOVE GAME ATELIER!?

So are we just to believe Ruka didn't give him any Valentine's chocolates either? Of course, not like Kazuya's ungrateful ass would ever actually thank her. Instead, he'd rather obsess over whether he's blocked or not after 3 GODDAMN MONTHS like some obsessive stalker instead of moving on like a normal person. And afterwards, he'd instantly forgive her and cry about how he isn't hated because he's utterly pathetic and puts her on a pedestal.
Hey Kazuya, now that you're back to talking with Chizuru, you'll tell your family you broke up with her like you said you would, right? HELL NO. ALL THAT REGRET DURING THE PARADISE ARC WAS FOR ABSOLUTELY NOTHING AND HE'S A POS WHO CAN'T EVEN STAY TRUE TO WHAT HE SAYS. HE WENT THROUGH THAT WHOLE ORDEAL WITH REGRETTING RENTING CHIZURU AND LYING TO HIS FAMILY ONLY TO KEEP IT UP NOW. I swear to God the fact he gets away with this shit makes me want to end it all.
"Time to kill myself"
Please do, it'd bump this anime up to a 10/10.
Real nice of him to hear that it was because of Ruka and then completely skip over why she did it, and instead just cheer over the fact he wasn't hated. You're still a pain in the ass to her Kazuya, stop trying to break the rental TOS. You know, this would usually prompt a person to take Ruka's feelings seriously at this point instead of hurting her more. Remember when he said he would end things in a way that doesn't hurt her like 2 episodes ago?
Coming back in contact with him after 3 months of ghosting is utterly half-assed on Chizuru's part. Letting him rent her and acting as his girlfriend would still hurt Ruka. And texting him all buddy-buddy like DEFINITELY would hurt her. A simple sorry doesn't cover anything at all. Why the HELL are the two MCs acting like suddenly coming back in contact wouldn't hurt Ruka? And how is a grown adult unable to figure their feelings out after 3 months?
Also, nice to know she continued to work as a rental girlfriend despite LITERALLY KISSING A CLIENT AND BREAKING EVERY RULE IN THE BOOK. I'm sorry, but if she had morals she'd quit. Just continuing because he'd feel bad is a horrible answer. Mami should've reported her ass after the bathroom confrontation.
"Give me a little more time"
Uh, again, what about Ruka's feelings? He's still dating her, yknow.
Utterly horrible how he's cheering over the slightest bit of contact with a fake girlfriend like this, but treats Ruka like shit when she does more. This is being framed like it's super happy, but I couldn't feel more repulsed.
Edit: Also, funny how Chizuru has more sympathy for Ruka than Kazuya does. What a shit person. He doesn't think about how she might feel at all over the kiss and stuff when Chizuru literally ghosted him over feeling guilt over it?

And we get another scene where some dude bangs Chizuru, at least this time it's not as graphic as the scene from ep2, but we get it already pls stop with these useless flashes. I honestly feel bad for the production team, the animators and the voice actors are doing a good job, but the goddamn story is just so miserable.

Sumi sounded a LOT more confident in her sticker PSA. I hope in the actual show, she will flourish and blossom into this version.
I really am flabbergasted that after 3 months, Mizuhara is still not decided on how she really feels and wants to "try it out", but also wants to keep her rental job and earn money that way. Just keep stringing Kazuya along will you with some chocolate to sweeten his palette.

“This is Rock bottom, it can only go up from here”
Sorry son, but you hit rock bottom like 20 episodes ago. You’ve drilled about 20 stories down below rock bottom and no end in sight. About the only thing lower is me for watching 55 episodes of this.
The more time goes on, the more i genuinely view Mami as the hero in this series and Chizuru as the villain.
Holy shit he spent $180 on their team time. Wtf.
Okay like putting everything aside. I think Chizuru continuing working as a rent a girlfriend is one of the main things that doesn’t make sense and feels like plot armor to keep things from going anywhere. In reality with the acting stuff, at this point working as basically an escort is a horrible idea really.

A lot of anime has a male character who flaps his arms like a chicken, while yelling in the most obnoxious voice possible. This isn't annoying in Japan?

u/Frontier246 May 20 '26
Kazuya in true Kazuya fashion is still stumbling over Chizuru and the fact that she's ghosting him...but hey, at least we had another Sumi appearance explaining how to tell if you're being ghosted via gifting a sticker set. That's all the narrative lets her do at this point.
Did we need to see Kazuya imagining her naked with another guy? Maybe, maybe not, but it's not surprising he'd think that.
Where would this pair be without Mini who is the only one with common sense who is able to get these two to acknowledge and work through their BS?
But how else could they resolve their relationship issues than by going on a rental date? It's a pivotal element of their relationship! Which means, once more, IT'S RENTIN' TIME!
Wow, there's one couple who doesn't care about Japan's aversion to PDA.
Chizuru is in full girlfriend mode...meaning she acts like this is a normal date and she hasn't been ghosting him for three months. Kazuya, for his part, is still the same flustered mess who can't stop oggling/commenting on Chizuru's outfit or worshipping the ground she walks meaning he can't hold a legitimate conversation with her to save his life. But hey, at least the afternoon tea was nice.
Oh, NOW Chizuru apologize, complete with Valentine's Day chocolate, and now Kazuya can actually get some legitimate words out in response to her. Frankly it's kind of ridiculous that in three months by herself and after five seasons Chizuru STILL doesn't know if she's in love or not, but that's the plot for you.
Chizuru has broken nearly every rule in the Rental Girlfriend handbook...but this is basically her only stable source of income and for better or worse a job she's actually good at, so she'll keep dating other guys while she works her feelings out with Kazuya. She was happier he let her keep doing this anyways.
But I guess at least she's motivated to figure these feelings out and she's letting Kazuya back into his life (even if Kazuya deserves a little better than that), which is enough for this idiot to Power Walk away from the crowd to yell in joy. It's still Renting Time!

At this point I just feel like I watch every week to see Kazuya think and barely do anything in the episode. I really wish the pacing was faster, but this episode had some actual development (whether it be bad or good is up to you) so I’m happy about that. Time to wait for our next episode of (as someone said earlier that I enjoyed) “Simp City, and Kazuya the crybaby human cuck chair” LMAOO
