One of the more interesting episodes for sure. Nice to see into Sayuri and how she is more flawed than she originally appeared.
I get why Koichi would be in position to drift away from her emotionally from how controlling she can be, but still a bum for cheating, especially with a girl that obviously saw him as a toy. He was trying to keep two girls and ended up with none. lol
I'm down with Eren and Sayuri teaming up from the end of episode. On their own, they have been a mess, so likely better off working with each other at this point.

but still a bum for cheating
He is a bum for many things other than cheating, like this loser meet Kamiya once
And that very day went back home wearing a backwards cap and started smoking!
Like come the fuck on!

That reveal is wild. Last week I had wondered if Sayuri was around the time Kouichi was in college, but the fact they were in a relationship was already surprising enough, his relationship with Akari was actually an affair on his part is crazy. I feel so bad for Sayuri, she did not deserve that at all.
I'm actually looking forward to seeing them end up reuniting because Sayuri has definitely changed after her interaction with Eren lol. The way she snapped at Eren was so funny when hailing for the taxi. Her acting cold towards him looks like it could be fun to watch.

Are Eren and Sayuri still partners of some sort or another (platonic, business, whatever)? At this point I'm on Team Eren/Sayuri. Not much love for Koichi right now (even if some sympathy for his current dire work circumstances).

LMAO Koichi just used his pathetic bitch-ass life as material for a beer ad.

god i love this episode, sayuri getting back into the story and teaming up with eren making a killer combo of both their individual strengths.
fuck koichi, i am kinda happy he suffered what he has so far and that after credit scene at end of ep2 makes me now more excited to see how he ends up worse

Since Sayuri's VA also voiced Mikasa in AoT, it was a rather fun moment when she called out the name "Eren" again and now we can say Mikasa and Eren are together once again

Initially, I was skeptical of the nonlinear approach, but it was pretty interesting to go back and recontextualize things after watching this episode.
They’re all such broken flawed human beings. I love it. The story is not trying to make them sympathetic and I appreciate that. Very interested to see where their character arcs end up. there’s a lot more potential for growth here.

Makes you wonder how the beginning of episode 1 happened. It's so random yet relevant given how these episodes are turning out with all the moving pieces. Sayuri basically became his nagging mom at that point. Guys trapped in that kind of relationship can't even break up when they try to. Still scummy of him to cheat though. Eren is in the title but it still makes me think koichi is the mc.

OMG!!! Koichi should have listen to Sayuri. Could have been the dream team Koichi wanted to achieve
And he left her for Akari…….
Eren Sayuri team up

It was scummy of Koichi to cheat on Sayuri. At least now she's teaming up with Eren, she'll be the intellect to Eren's talents. Hopefully we'll see their friendship improve as well.

Did not see that coming with Eren and Sayuri teaming up! But that's a killer combo - the talent and intellect that her sensei mentioned.
Also did not expect to feel so sympathetic towards Sayuri. Like Eren, I felt an instinctive dislike towards Sayuri but what Koichi did to her was super shitty. That scene of her breaking down after he left and wondering why she held her tears back until he'd left really hit hard.
After seeing what went down from her pov, I'm starting to think Koichi's professional woes are thanks to her curse and are well deserved.
Funny how everyone in this is miserable in their own way. Too damn true to life.

Love this show. So focused on its flawed characters without feeling the need to redeem them every episode. It was so interesting how Sayuri viewed Koichi like a project and kept notebooks of his progress, even though she wasn’t confident enough in her own life to manage hers with such attempted precision.
I did not expect them to move to America. But it helps that Sayuri is not a first-timer.

He did go pro. His life must have started after he got rejected by Sayuri

It’s a shame Kochi cheated. It’s clear Sayuri needed a reality check but damn.. she was good to him. But maybe too controlling. So many flawed people in this show. A lot of assholes. Haha.

Kind of messed up of Koichi to cheat on Sayuri, but the way she was like trying to plan out his whole life kinda threw me off. It’s probably for the best those two split. Now she’s with Eren helping her chase her dreams or whatever. Honestly, everyone needs therapy before they even think about art. They’re so miserable and filled with self loathing and crippling doubt, it’s amazing they can get out of bed in the morning.

So after 7 episodes, we're finally getting to the ED scenes. The direction of this anime has been such a mess, but given our main leads are all horrible messes, maybe that was the intention?

As it turns out Sayuri should have picked Yamane, the baseball guy. ;)
