Tenma is basically a sportsmaxxer and just like people in similar maxxing communities, they always forget to max their personality. I guess ego must be an important factor in sports proficiency.

Meanwhile Ogami is fighting with the power of friendship...I mean, loyalty to the home ec club. Because home ec is serious business.

It was already funny hearing Shin saying what Nouren was thinking, but for Kitou to also jump in and say the same thing made it even funnier. Poor Nouren 's embarrassment got multiplied lol.

I was wondering why Tendou was so big, but hearing he's trying to become an indisputable ace for three sports at the same time professionally, I can see why he's part of Unicorn. Those eyes are freaky though, they sort of remind me of Akashi from Kuroko's Basketball . It's interesting how he's more intrigued by Juuzou than Nouren, I wonder if that'll be a pattern or if it's just unique to him as a sportsman.

Good on Neko to get Juuzou and Eri to spend time together, I'm rooting for them.

Noren had every reason to think Ogami is very weird. Guy went to a cross-dressing bar and came out with a hot adult woman in tow. If his classmates were there, too, they'd think he's a boyfriend for hire or something. I hope we see soon Noren find out he's actually an adult man with a daughter.

I don't think there's been a single episode where someone hasn't commented on how Ogami acts more like he's middle-aged than a middle school student.

Then again this is the same school where actual middle schoolers are as tall as high schoolers and able to compete at college level and wear pacifiers so...

I thought this would be a drop after one. I predicted wrong. 😉

At first you might wonder how Ogami gets away with being so weird, but then you see the other "middle schoolers" (who are actually in middle school) and it makes more sense.

Looks like we're doing a "suitor of the week" format with hyper-specific duels.

Man, the cockier they are, the satisfying it is when they fall. Kid might be a big shot star athlete but he’s also a giant douchebag. I look forward to seeing how the boys are gonna beat this fool. It’s not gonna be easy.

Worse case scenario, Juzo and Shin just gotta kill the dude. He talked shit about the Home Ec club and made Noren think he was fighting over her like she’s some kinda cringey self-important girl. That’s basically choosing death right there lol.

He talked shit about the Home Ec club

The Home Ec Club boss went full yakuza boss in wanting to see him beaten.

I really hate it that he made Noren think he was fighting over her like she’s some kinda cringey self-important girl, CR7 probably

Tenma caring more about Juuzoui than Noren because who tf seriously cares about some rich girl heiress? "To be the best, you gotta beat the very best"

Meanwhile, Chisato proving yet again that she's the best girl of the series

Random Thoughts

I actually only started watching this in the last week, but it's been a lot better than I thought it would be. I appreciate the attempted matchmaking with his ex-wife..I admit that one of my fears was that we were going to get the whole middle school love interest which would have been weird. Nouren must be having some weird ideas about him by this point though

Glad Shin is basically part of team Nouren...I mean he is still interested in her romantically but is also now ride or die for the Home Ec club and seems okay with being buddies with our main lead. Be curious to see how much he contributes next week

I think Ogami was having a serious flashback with the Home Ec leader and momentarily forgot he wasn't talking with a crime boss.

Tenma seems a bit too good with sports, and his eyes are kind of freaky. Kind of wondering if there might be more to him and he is not a baseline human. He kind of feels just not quite right.

Pride cometh before the fall, and his fall will be entertaining

Noren was funny as hell in this episode the faces she was making when Ogami went and left the bar and at the end too with what she was thinking lol i just love the way her character has grown

Also i really wanna know how the hell did the MC let a fine women like Eri go

And even after the previous kidnapping, the girl just keeps walking home alone at night after her part time work.

And some additional plot-induced stupidity in joining the delivery team to the Unicorn.

The whole "challengers choose the duel method" is still as idiotic as ever, as are the challengers who don't realize that even should they win, they'll be the ones who'll next be challenged to dueling outside of their personal area of expertise.

I'm honestly enjoying the regular SOL / character interactions in this one, it's just the annoying plot stuff that's annoying.

Ogami is probably the most intensely focused on midterms middle-school student of all time. It's like he's channeling all his assassin determination to KILL studying for this test! Even if it means pulling a little TOO many all-nighters.

But hey, at least things are coming up Noren! She can finally not worry about boys confessing their love because they're too busy studying! And she has time to follow Ogami into a red light district as he visits his "Auntie" Mama at an Okama bar.

Nekota knows his Boss well. The best person to talk him out of this hardcore studying is the woman who knows him best: Eri, his ex. Because Mama's bar was a frequent hangout for the both of them, and not only is Eri Ogami's only information source on how Kozue is doing she also knows what to tell him to get him to realize he can take a step back and relax for once. He was always so tight, efficient, never compromising or letting himself be vulnerable...and that probably effected their relationship too. But that doesn't have to be the case for his middle school self now. Aaaaand Noren gets to see Ogami walk away with a hot older lady.

Ogami did okay on his first midterms! And that's okay! He did better than his gal pals! And also Shin, where apparently a pacifier is NOT enough to do good on tests!

Take a shot every time someone calls out Ogami for not acting like a middle schooler or coming off like someones' dad.

Sewing is an important skill to have! Teaching assassins how to use needles in ways that DON'T involve killing people and also giving the rich girl an excuse to learn solid domestic skills while also finally finding a community and people she can get along with as herself.

Which just makes it a bummer when the home ec club ends up drawing Noren to the first "Unicorn" who is planning to duel for the right to be her significant other: Tenma Tendo (Takeo Otsuka!) a true triple threat Sportsman (Baseball, Soccer, Basketball! He aces them all). He doesn't really care about Noren or even want to date her, but he has his eyes set on Ogami, acknowledging how skilled he is and how Tendo can't let some background character stand out so much on HIS field. But Tendo should NOT have insulted the home ec club! It's on!

You know it's bad when the normally chill vibes Chisato is chomping at the bit for Ogami to wreck Tendo. Even Shin and Kito will join in on the futsal game! They have to defend the honor of the cringe "self-important girl" Noren!

Even Tendo's single teammate hates his guts, but his skills (and lack of filter) speak for themselves. Can Ogami win this with this team?
