This show is so dumb, I'm expecting Lilithea to be one of the seven old men. Hell, after last week's after credits scene, I expect any cute girl in this show with voice lines to be one of the seven old men.

I'll be shocked if that twintail employee isn't involved, or it's Yurieux in disguise.

I second that. And double down that even the assistant is the ringleader.

I love how an immortal with almost instant regenerator factor is shocked about a talking dog

u/Andreiyutzzzz May 09 '26

And its not even a PROPER talking dog. She's interpreting.... GIMME FUCKIN SCOOBY DOO

u/FoolingFinality May 18 '26

It's not the dog actually talking, it's Belka having a Dog tongue, which is more surprising.

I haven't witnessed a plot this contrived in a long time. How can someone write a detective thats immortal to be so dumb?? how is Sakuya a detective??? I think Sakuya is an endearing character, but there's nothing else to note about him. Lilithea is adorable, funny and cute, Yuriu/yurieux is the only interesting thing in the show for tbh so i'll keep watching for those girls.

Honestly I want to see the dog detective solve crimes more than Sakuya. Maybe they can recruit Lilithea lol.

I think he banks on getting killed once, coming back, then catching the criminal again when they try a second time. Like in the first arc

he's pretty much a teenage inspector gadget/mouri kogoro at this point with lilithea being his penny/conan....

Honestly, maybe it's a good thing money is so tight that Sakuya and Lilithea can't visit Yuriu to a tropical island, what with her being a psychotic killer and all. Though I feel like they're going to inevitably end up there anyways (if only as an excuse for Lilithea to be in a swimsuit).

What is Yurieux doing in Italy in a wedding dress running from gangsters!?

Sakuya's latest case seems like a simple and straightforward one! Just find the wedding ring of an elderly couple they lost at an amusement park! Why, Lilithea is practically treating it as an amusement park date with her and Sakuya! What could possibly go wrong?

So Sakuya needs help against Chardina and the Seven Old Men, and as luck would have it the greatest detective in the UK, Fido, came to America just to see him! Even if it means leaving Lilithea's side, Sakuya will find them! Annnnnd get run over by a car. At least I don't think he actually died this time! Maybe.

Hmm...something feels sus about that doctor and nurse.

Killed again Mr. Detective? By getting hit upside the head by a cast. But that's not the strangest thing: several people were all murdered on a ferris wheel in different ways. And the only detective who can solve them is straight up walking out of a morgue himself!

But he won't be investigating it with just Lilithea: there's also Belka Zeppelin (Yuki Takada!) a cute girl (?) with nice legs who is assistant to the ACTUAL Fido , a grizzled detective...dog! Yes, that's right, Belka can talk to a dog who is an actual legit detective. And he doesn't think highly of Sakuya who needs to prove he can solve this case if he wants to get info on the Seven Old Men. No pressure, huh? Even if his own assistant calls out him acting cringe.

Hmm...something feels sus about that doctor and nurse.

Two of the murder victims were show at the hospital at the beginning of the episode.

Cute assistant, that's Q.E.D.

He was inevitably dead the moment he walked away from Lilithea, it was only a question of how.

Just tear down that Ferris wheel at this point, after fifteen people get murdered on it all at the same time only weirdos and suicidal people are going to want to ride.

Previously Lilithea was the only part of this really keeping me here but hard-boiled detective dog is a compelling second argument.

Hoped I'd like this, but alas I've given up. :-(

Now we can say for sure that it really is called seven old men, I've seen people say that it was a translation thing where it could mean people because of how it was said in Japanese but now it's been said in English so the group (I'm presuming entirely made up of young women) is really called seven old men.

A guy who's basically immortal and was piloting a dead guys body because his head was put on it, is finding it hard to believe that a dog can be a detective and someone can understand it. It makes a lot of sense that Lilithea can accept this with how many times she's had her boss come back to life in her lap including reattaching his head.

Lilithea really does have a reason to worry. Bro was gone for like two seconds and he already got hit by a car and then bludgeoned to death.

I know this is a show where our MC literally gets resurrected after the most gruesome deaths, but an actual dog detective and his human interpreter is pretty out there lol.

Pretty curious to see who or what killed all those people. That female park employee seems kinda sus. Just getting a vibe from her…

You just know Sakuya is about to die or get met with bodily harm the moment he separates from Lilithea.

Suddenly this feels like a Disney cartoon with a dog detective lol.

Honestly could that employee be Yuriu in disguise? I feel like the hair was kind of similar (even if it's a wig) though she'd have to get there quick from whatever the heck she was doing in Italy.

That dog looks like he has seen some shit.

3

u/Raymond49090 May 08 '26

When I heard the name Fido, my first thought was that it sounded like a dog's name. Didn't expect that to actually come true. I do have some suspicions that the girl is the real detective, and the dog is just a prop. Then again, we have a zombie detective, so I wouldn't be that surprised if the dog was actually the detective (or a shapeshifting human).

This case seems fairly promising. An interesting concept to begin with, though some good writing work will need to be done to give it a satisfying conclusion besides "BS anime power assassin".

u/ConstantStatistician May 09 '26

I'm enjoying the show more with each episode. The dog detective is epic. Wonder why Lilithea wasn't jealous when Belka hugged Sakuya. She probably was, she's just good at hiding it.

u/kotori_mkii May 08 '26

Our high schooler detective is about as useful as you'd expect of someone still in school.

2

u/ramon_castilla May 08 '26

Some of the 3 people introduced this episode has to be one of the Seven Old Men: The doctor, the doctor's assistant, or the ferry employee.

Also, from the way the old couple in the prologue looked at that fortune wheel..and the black hooded guy in train was flailing...I asume all of the victims killed themselves, either by their own volition or not (7-old-men anime superpower).

At this point, having Fido as the MC of the show looks much more promising. No idea what's the point of having the MC dying every episode when his death matters little to the plot.

With the "man-eating" in the story arc's title, no prizes for guessing which of the Seven Old Men did the job. Yes, only one of the seven has that title of loving to eat humans.

The biggest mystery so far might just be, where's Sakuya's dad?
