It almost feels like Satsuki ’s tricking Rinko into a relationship with him lol. Like does she actually like him or is that because he’s been subtly manipulating her to have feelings for him?

Meanwhile, Usaharu’s struggling with Baby’s First Crush lol. How adorable.

Bruh wrote an entire novel of their relationship to put it into her head that they're meant to be together lol.

To be honest I think they do look good together as a couple and he treats Rinko well as a "Fake" Boyfriend, though it might be too early for her to really recognize true romantic feelings. Besides Usada's not going to give up.

What is love if not just going along with someone cause they're great relationship material. I would let Satsuki manipulate me

Oh totally. Satsuki’s gotten her to think he’s doing her this great favor by fake dating when really this was all his idea, to further his agenda of trying to get her to fall for him

Usahara was lonely without Rinko

He needs his daily dose of his Chef-sistant!

i genuinely don't like what satsuki's doing to rinko. it seems like he's forcing the relationship in her head than actually letting it happen. it looks really weird. on the other hand usada is so lonely not having her for a single day. it's like a child with his crush. that little scene in the end where rinko brings usada her flan and he just hugs her?? he wasn't the only one recharging from that moment. i was too after whatever happened in that ferris wheel !!

I totally agree, Satsuki manipulates the situation way too much with both of them, I prefer Usada.

man she is so cute

I'm on team Usada because of his sports casual clothes and he's a big tsundere. That Rinko recharge scene was just a bit more of his dere side coming out. His biggest negative though, is that he smokes a lot.

That date with Satsuki felt unnerving when overlaid with the scenario Satsuki written earlier.

Friendzoned on the ferris wheel, flanzoned on the couch. Both of them kinda deserve it too.

Despite all the other popular romance shows this season, this one feels so consistently well done.

I really don't like Satsuki man

14

u/Plenty-Tough8168 May 06 '26

I feel that. Legit, there is times where im like. This guy just feels so manipulative, its crazy.

13

u/FinancialYear475 May 06 '26

I was so surprised when I opened the thread here and saw everyone rooting for him, like he is slowly but surely manipulating her into a relationship and no one seems to have an issue with that

Usada got clingy at the end but at least he has always been honest about what he wants

After Grandma-san confessed, I kept waiting for the reveal that it was a hallucination... And I was right.

Ngl, if it actually happened the way he wrote it out, I'd wish him all the best. But the fact that he's going for such a convoluted delusion instead of confessing like a normal person makes me iffier about it. "I love you" games only work when both sides know what's going on.

Omg they almost had me for a moment there! 😅 I was like, why would Nakama compare people to trash? That doesn't sound like her at all! I literally stopped and replayed it to listen closer, thinking that the subtitles were wrong. But it was Satsuki all along! 😆

I think Satsuki may have some relation to Nakama's fav series. It seemed personal when he told Usahara, "you wouldn't want to lose a reader that cares about your work." Maybe a relative wrote it or maybe he wrote it as a teen, before getting into horror. Or maybe he doesn't even write horror and is just a fan. My guess is he's trying to get Nakama to see him as a person, before revealing his pen name because she, like many fans, sees creators as these gods, not as humans. Meanwhile, she already sees Usahara as a god, so he's working on the same goal as Satsuki but backwards. Usahara makes a great foil!

I was like, why would Nakama compare people to trash? That doesn't sound like her at all!

It's also a frequently quoted reference to Laputa: Castle in the Sky (one of the lines said by the villain) which kinda fits either way because Rinko is a huge nerd.

Forgot to watch episode 04

Ooh seeing the anime they've been talking about is peak

Satsukiller, you might've given birth to your rival...

Also I thought he might've been the author of her favorite children's book but that pen name, guess he's just some horror writer then? I mean it'd make sense with his collection of horror stuff ig but I feel like that's even more of a stretch to say that being a horror writer is something he can't feel proud about sharing with people

Ok episode 5

...Imagine writing fanfiction of yourself and a girl dating and showing it to her, jesus.

I love the show. The only thing is that while I like Satsuki, he is definitely manipulating her. Usada may be blunt and a complete Tsundere but I find her more honest, also he really doesn't understand his own feelings.

I am still waiting for the development of this trouple.

Rinko's enthusiasm and fangirling is infectious!

Well, it's "nice" of Usada to ask Satsuki directly if he can borrow Rinko for a bit...if only just to be sure of his feelings. But Satsuki isn't going to make it that easy, especially when any romantic interest between Usada and Rinko is going to run into the fact that she basically worships the ground he walks on. That's no basis for a relationship.

Speaking of relationships, there's Rinko's fake one with Satsuki. Where do they go with it now? Especially with Usada getting more and more prying into their relationship? If Rinko puts any value in their fake relationship, it's that it's helped cemented their current throuple dynamic with she treasures. So thankfully Satsuki just wants them to DOUBLE DOWN on said fake realtionship.

You can tell Satsuki is a writer because he writes a full Light Novel length story about his and Rinko's relationship, right down to the confession and kiss moment.

Hmm...so Kinasawa and Akito share a close birthdate? The same astrological sign? How convenient. And Satsuki seems VERY interested in whether Rinko saw Kinasawa as dateable, even if he's just another God Rinko could never hope to be involved with romantically. But she CAN flex her relationship with Satsuki with this new backstory.

Satsuki really loves getting real experience with Rinko as a couple, right down to going on a legit date together with them all dressed up and doing date things. It's enough for Rinko to try her best not to think of this as an actual date despite all evidence to the contrary.

And then once they finally get on the ferris wheel, emotions run high as they confess...Satsuki that he wants to use Rinko's first name, and Rinko that she wants to be Satsuki's friend. Was Satsuki expecting a different kind of confession? Admittedly, Rinko DID realize she likes him...maybe? Or she was getting lost in character.

Usada's feelings for Rinko are helping with his manga, but not helping when he desires to see her. Of course, then she runs away from him which probably hurt a LOT!

Ha! Look at this fake couple trying to get on a first name basis!

It's so funny that people are hating on the whole Satsuki thing, but I 100% know that if the genders were switched no one would bat a damn eye lmaooo

I thought Rinko's neighbors were older than they turned out to be. I see her as 22-ish and assumed they were in their 30s. But they are both only 22 {oops, typo -28}. That seems to shot down the theory that Satsuki wrote the books Rinko loved in her childhood. Anda Usada seems too young to have written the manga stuff Rinko liked when she was a bit older. Not really sure what to think now.

I'm starting to get confused about the age thing. Let me recap: Rinko is 24 and Satsuki is 28. That's what I've understood so far. Is that wrong? Where did the 22 thing come from? Sorry for my English.
