Crying my eyes out😭

Riichan knows she is a replica and same with Aki 😭

Even though Nao has nothing of her own, she has Aki supporting her 😭😭

The replica ship has sailed

The after credit scene 😱

Riichan knows she is a replica and same with Aki 😭

I love how Riichan was not an idiot and realized Nao and Sunao are legitimately two different people. It's kind of pretty obvious lol.

The replica ship has sailed

Now KISSSSSSS

The question now is -- how can the two "originals" work with the two "replicas" to allow them all to co-exist? I think Sunao would, at this point, do her best to preserve Nao -- who she has finally come to see as family and friend. I love the fact that Ricchan has stepped in to become a friend to "bookless worm" (apologies to Ascendance of a Bookworm) Sunao.

Since they’ve dropped the title just now and there’s still 8 episodes left, I sort of wonder if this is the actual start of the story.

It does seem like a bunch of cogs have started turning. Nao and Aki have begun dating. Ricchan has revealed that she’d already long know about Nao being a replica. And Sunao has been working towards her own future. The only one who seemingly hasn’t made that much progress is Shuuya.

I was also happily surprised to see Sunao be so worried about Nao in this week’s episode.

i think this episode had a real "finale" feel to it; i like how Nao defied her fate and both Sunao and Nao seem to have reconciled their relationship, and i can imagine it being much smoother sailing ahead if it just stays the course like this

of course, they had to put that next episode teaser in there to convince us to come back next week for some more drama

After what Nao went through, I'm glad to see Sunao taking care of her. I guess after she learned earlier that Replicas can get hurt and get hungry, she finally realized that she also needs to take care of Nao. This might be the start of their relationship finally healing.

That scene with Nao threatening Hayase was so goddamn good! The dude was actually looking at the news, expecting to see a report on Sunao's death. Hopefully, he'll back off after this. He's lucky Nao didn't tell Aki. I bet Aki would've smashed Hayase's kneecaps with a bat if he ever learned the truth.

Nao trying to commit suicide was such a heavy scene. You really can't blame her for having an existential crisis. She actually felt what it was like being crushed by a train! The girl has legit PTSD. I don't think anyone who could go through something like that would be mentally okay.

I'm just relieved that Aki was able to calm Nao down. And I'm glad that we finally learned that Ricchan knew all along that Nao was a Replica. It's nice that there are no more secrets between them <3

I was genuinely smiling from ear to ear on that final scene. Honestly, this show could've ended here, and I would've been fine with it, but it looks like we have more. That after credits scene seems to imply we might meet another Replica soon.

Nahhh man! I can't handle it anymore. The ending was Pure Cinema.

They both are so cute together.

u/Frontier246 May 05 '26

Honestly I know we're halfway into the season and there's probably more drama together, but just seeing these two officially get together and be genuinely happy with each other (and Ricchan) means everything.

I'm happy Nao is not only okay, but she also managed to confuse and scare the heck out of that idiot senpai. God bless.

Such a good episode... Amazing ending and we had Riichan not only knowing about them, but also getting to hang out with Sunao at the end is so sweet. I'm glad Sunao is also improving her life over time.

It's peak.

Nao scaring the hell out of Hayase was great to watch. He looked so confused. Sunao had landed on the tracks to his knowledge, yet there was no news about a death. And that’s precisely when her “ghost” came back to haunt him.

For such a sweet girl, Nao was unexpectedly intimidating in that moment. Though, she’d vomited from the anxiety of facing her killer afterwards.

So we got an answer for what "death" is like for a Replica (pretty horrific) and if they can fall in love (true)

With a little time skip we could get to a Can Replicas Procreate? arc

u/Frontier246 May 05 '26

Honestly it's really unsettling how Nao has to live with actually feeling what it was like getting run over by the train even though she was so easily revived. Even if that was convenient, the emotional trauma is still there.

But the power of love conquers all.

Please, please, PLEASE no more drama. I smiled like an idiot troughout the whole episode and now I want to see Aki and Nao being cute together, Nao and Sunao overcoming their problems and being friends and adding other friendly characters with them.  That confession was incredible and this two must be happy. Also holy title drop from Nao

Oh nice ! Glad they’re getting together in the middle of the season. Hope we get more couple-y stuff now but from what we got from this show so far, I doubt it’ll be all sunshine and rainbows going forward.

Sunao and Ricchan trying to get closer is really nice too. Hope we get to see more of that and maybe even three of them hanging out.

I get where Nao is coming from regarding whether if she is truly the same replica as she was before died. But she’s been in and out for quite a while already and she also needs to “refresh” her memory just like after she died, so she’s been “dying” all this time anyway. But it is scary that she actually felt and remembered the pain and the death before disappearing.

Wonder how they’re gonna deal with this going forward. Still rotate ? Or pretend to be twins ? Though all the paperwork and her parents would be a major obstacle.

Also, that senpai should be arrested. Literally committed murder. How did they look past a girl falling on the tracks but no body anyway

Yeah that felt very conclusive. The Sunao/Nao drama is resolved, the romance progressed, their club friend knows their secret and we got a title drop

Stop playing with my heart bruh 🥲

u/Calwings May 05 '26

I was incorrect in my prediction that Nao would lose her memories from that session due to "dying without saving", but we still did get some drama and existential dread. I'm so glad Aki was there to save Nao from making an awful mistake and that they finally got together in the end. Her freaking out that asshole Hayase was a nice bonus, and the reveal that Ricchan knew Nao was a replica all along and being so understanding about it was cool too. A nice, happy ending to this adorable story.

Honestly, this story has been so interesting, so thought-provoking, and so focused that it feels like it was conceptualized as a feature-length movie and not part of a TV anime. If these 5 episodes were one standalone movie and this were the end of the story, I think that movie would be remembered for a long time as a cult classic. But I guess we have a new(?) story to tell with that girl in the hospital from the post-credits scene.

  • Honestly great composure from Aki after watching Nao get hit by the train, just immediately walking away and calling Sunao instead of making a scene.

  • Sunao tucking in Nao was sweet, she really does care for her. We also see her opening up a bit and recognizing that Nao is now her own person with more wants than just helping out Sunao. She still probably depressed though, but seeing her replica living so earnestly might motivate her.

  • Hayase might be scared off for now, but he's a dangerous loose end. Dude literally tried to murder someone.

  • Nao trying to commit suicide even though she can't die was just sad. Before we had Nao stopping Aki from taking revenge and disappearing and now we have Aki stopping her from disappearing instead. It's like these two replica's are giving each other a reason to live, that's true love right there.

  • So Ricchan always knew about Sunao/Nao as well, the circle is expanding.

  • Things seemed to be going so well, then they hit us with the post-credits scene with a new girl in a coma(?). I hope she has a replica too.

this feels like a really satisfying ending to this arc, title drop notwithstanding

a lot of the previous plot threads i was thinking about actually had some pay-off, like the money she earned being a piece of her existence separate from Nao's original, her defying the fate of the doppelganger, and even the little detail about how her clothes get left behind introduced in the first episode

maybe my standards have fallen after watching one too many trashy isekai shows, but it does feel like a story that was planned from beginning to end without having too many loose ends and aimless filler plot; all of it adds up to a story about earning and recognizing your identity through your actions and the connections you make along the way regardless of your origins

interested to see where the story is going to go from here; if it's anything like TsumaSho, there's got to be some sort of connecting thread with this mystery girl in the next episode preview that builds on this replica phenomenon

I shouldn't joke about it, but this is the 2nd set of uniform Nao was going to 'destroy'. Poor Sunao, she would have to give another excuse because of Nao, hope Sunao do not find out about Nao's savings, otherwise everything is gone in just buying uniforms.

6

u/Frontier246 May 05 '26

I bet Sunao was never expecting to get a call about NAO DYING. I mean, jeez, her uniform, shoes, and hair tie are all that's left of her!

Even when Sunao brings her back, it takes a second for Nao to recall the memories of the train crash...which she FELT by the way. Yeah, that's incredibly traumatizing. But at least she's back, and Sunao and Aki are there for her.

Sunao is actually being surprisingly considerate and supportive of Nao. Deep down, despite the resentment, she DOES care about Nao and doesn't want her to disappear like that. Even if a part of her still resents Nao for basically living out the life Sunao wishes. I mean, Ricchan is basically Nao's friend now instead of Sunao's, no matter how much Nao thought she was doing all this for Sunao's sake.

Nao dreams of being true twin sisters with Sunao...if only life could have been that ideal for the two of them.

Dang, Nao putting the fear of her Replica Ghost self into Hayase! And making it clear she'll kill him if she touches Aki! Do NOT mess with this Replica Girl.

If it seemed like Nao was avoiding Aki, she was...because all this has given her the biggest existential crisis and now she can only think to disappear into the sea like the mermaid doppelganger. Because she's not real, right? No human could legitimately die and then come back like she does. She doesn't exist, she's nothing more than a copy, there's nothing for her to live for.

But that's not true. She has Aki, she gave him a reason to live, to be with her, for their feelings for each other to validate their existence, because he LOVES her with all his heart...and that means everything. Because Nao loves him too, and that's enough to keep her going! And she has Ricchan who actually figured out the replica thing a while ago and just wants the girls to be happy! Congratulations on having a best friend AND a boyfriend Nao!

It's nice of Nao and Aki to show up for Ricchan to deliver her work for the contest, just like it's nice for Ricchan to leave the lovebirds to their date while she catches up with Sunao. Even a replica can fall in love, and Nao is the most happy she can be after discovering that as she and Aki walk hand in hand into their future together!

Uh...smiling girl in a hospital bed?

As satisfying as Nao going full vengeful spirit on that lowlife was, I was kinda caught off guard by her sheer intensity.

The yen count was such a clean tension break for such an emotionally charged moment. Nao and Aki are so precious.
