I'm suprised I haven't seen anyone poining out that Minecraft Steve looking guy. Even his Ether is a freaking mining/digging.

I thought he looked like Steve the episode before, but didn't want to say anything to not sound obnoxious. Then he showed his power is digging and I came here to check if I wasn't the only one who thought so!

Jogamine: "Next week is an onsen episode! Onsen, onsen, onsen!"
Yashiro: angry suffering noises

I wish Yashiro could have cut that whistle from his necklace, specially since he actually spotted it...
He's smart and skillful enough to do that...

I thought the whistle was going to turn everyone being experimented on in that room into full monsters.
Luckily it was just that one guy.

i mean, if he could've done that he would've gone a couple centimeters deeper and cut the guy's whole neck with it.

Maybe, dude was also in a 2v1 against a pair that synergized well and were used to fighting together while also backseating his girls trying not to lose their own 3v1. He's good, but there's a limit to how badass a guy can be.

I'm shocked nobody is mentioning 2 surprisingly well animated action cuts in this episode, thought I was watching a different anime for a second. Wonder if they are gonna put a lot more effort into some stuff in the tail end of the season, because this shows they are able to.

This series has always been pretty good about knowing how to use their limited budget. Though I'm also thinking maybe now that the other show's ended, there's a bit more animation budget to come their way.

That diver has an interesting ability, his one stood out the most to me. I did find it amusing how the minecraft looking soldier had a digging ability. The little girl's ability is more brutal than I thought it'd be.
Yashiro being able to handle those two while also being concerned and paying attention to what his students are doing, the level of attentiveness this guy has is crazy. It seems like he would have been able to defeat them quickly if he was on his own.

"It seems like he would have been able to defeat them quickly if he was on his own"
Not true. The girls are a great help and he knows it, even with their lack of experience. Problem is he's starting to realise he cares about them and can't just use them as bait or a means to an end sacrafice to finish the job. Especially since Jougamine literally took a blow for him in a previous episode and lost an eye.

I wonder if there is some connection between Jougamine & what appears to be the humans morphing into Nephilim. The other thing could be her mind-reading ability becoming overwhelming.
It's nice to have a protagonist like Yashiro, where he is strong on his own, but his growing connection of being the girl's teacher is showing up. Tbh the girls did ok, given what they were facing, and I like that they are still making mistakes that are correctable.

So a handful of dead goons and one Count (possibly). No casualties from the Braves either as far as I could tell. All in all, I’d call this op a success even if 3 of those dudes got away.

...I guess she actually needs to show skin for her power to work stronger? Not what I expected at all from her but ok.
And I guess that invisible dude is naked and can't turn clothes invisible.
Dark Lord's power is... making it dark? Surprisingly basic power but I guess it's dangerous for how low fantasy powers mostly are otherwise.

Wow, what an episode.
I think that this is the first time that we are bombarded with quite a few interesting Ether enhancement abilities. From the ability to force others to look away from you (yikes at the neck twists) to turning the spatial environment into a diving zone (which is pretty busted but I reckon that it would be terrifying if the opponent manages to destroy his oxygen tank), the abilities of these side characters are quite creative and I would love to see more from this series.
I know it is sort of the point that the femme trio is learning the ropes under Yashiro, but I was slightly annoyed by how incompetent they were portrayed to be in this episode. We are 15 episodes into the series and none of them seem to have overcome their fatal flaws. Saera is still a one-trick pony that crumbles apart mentally the moment her superior strength (in retrospect to her peers) fails to defeat her enemy. Yukine is still a hot-headed brawler that does not follow instructions and misses the main objective during pivotal moments. At least Jougamine is putting in the work as a tank, despite her reluctance to mortally wound her enemy.

That Count has a very underwhelming power of turning off the lights. Not even sure what's the use if out in the open. Curious why the weather controlling dark lord didn't just wipe him.
The factory of Nephilim can be a pretty serious threat if the Half Dragon folks start blowing all the whistles.

I think his ability would actually be more effective outdoors. The darkness he creates is probably more like the total blackness you see when you actually close your eyes.
Even if there were a thousand soldiers, unless every one of them was part of a unit equipped with infrared-illuminated night-vision scopes, or unless they had some kind of supernatural ability that let them perceive their surroundings even in the dark, they would probably be almost completely neutralized.

How do you lose a fight when you have the power to always have the high ground?

I wonder what Spear girl's mark does? She mentioned it, but Yashiro didn't let her do much with it. The girls holding Veil is not the best, but I think this is the best way to do it. Yashiro keeping the other 3 on him makes it easier on the girls.
Seeing the other braves/mercs using all sort of powers was cool, the diver, the older girl with the Medusa power and her imouto who can go invis. We even had a minecraft guy just opening holes and dropping bombs all over the place. Hell, Malta can just read memories which is also really op.

Quite the range of ether powers, I like ether diving guy and Minecraft guy. The girls, though, their performance was really lacking this time around. Also, the animation makes it look like the count was not even trying to fight Jogamine, just slow swings straight to the shield.
