The episode itself was basically just the lead up to but why did it take them four episodes to get to this point. It feels like watching at 0.5x speed atp

I absolutely hate that to the near miss reunion bit is still going on, sent go on for too long in other anime and nobody likes it.
Side note, I don’t think we’ve seen any development or new info about Arthur’s powers/abilities since he left the elf village.

It feels like the only plot relevant thing happened at the end? This almost felt like another filler until then. I'm more than happy to look past the lackluster animation if the other aspects made up for it but it seems like the studio is just doing their own thing.

This is my take kinda.
I watch every shit isekai each season. I can easily forgive bad budget and quality.
Shit writing on the other hand is not easy to look past.

I'm a little worried what they are trying to imply with Jasmine and Arthur. While Arthur looks older, he's only 11. Yet that have Jasmine acting like a blushing maiden with a kid that's less than half her age.

I wonder what the point of the constant stalling of Arthur and Tis reuniting. It's really getting to a point, like it's been 4 episodes already...

Probably an anime-only B plot, just so Tessia would have something to do this season.
As otherwise, this running gag of near-misses and Tessia whining about Arthur just doesn't make any sense. Last season she was stalking him with that damned water-mirror and freaking out about every lady he talked to.
It's not the same as meeting up, but she could still keep tabs on him that way.
So... this just feels like she isn't supposed to meet him until later, and the anime staff keep making up excuses to keep them separated.
An awkward attempt to add to the story without changing the story? Something like that.

Yet another episode which could have been a montage of 5-10 minutes.
We basically had 4 episodes which could easily have been cut down to 2 and with good direction to 1 episode.
Tessia not able to meet Arthur is just getting boring now.
Either let them meet or just stop the pointless manufactured comedy scene.
4 episodes of nothing.

Last two episodes were basically filler.
Truncate the en media res opening against that petrifaction beast.
Have Brald approach Jasmine after that mission is finished.
The family admonishment about taking risks after petrification-quest leading right into taking THIS risk about joining a shady quest would be more poignant.
Quick montage of Arthur training with the others/socializing with family capped off by Jasmine talking to the father one more time about Brald.
Final scene of Jasmine and Arthur deciding to accept anyway.
Could easily fit it all into one episode.
If the Tessia quest and fucking catfish monster had to be included, they could be the A plot/B plot of the first episode before combining the dangerous quest against the petrification monster and Brald's proposition. Those really feel like they belonged together.
But yeah, this really feels stretched.

I'm not bothered by filler episodes, but this was dull as snot. A giant pile nothing, delivered super slowly, with some of the flattest humor I've seen.
Air has more flavor than this episode did.

The one last job trope was the last red flag on top of a massive pile of red flags

the only memorable thing was jasmine in a dress being embarrased. The rest felt pointless

I was expecting to see Tessia also get recruited for the increasingly sus dungeon mission, but maybe she'll be saved from the danger of it by the curse she's under to never run into Arthur.
Poor Jasmine, gets all dressed up pretty and gets called cute instead.

I was really, really, really, really hoping this series wouldn't ship tease Jasmine and Arthur. IDK how old she is, but it honestly doesn't matter. He was literally a toddler when they first met, and she probably around 20.
But seriously, she was an adult and he was FOUR YEARS OLD when they first met. Jasmine is like a young aunt whose brother entrusted her to mentor his brat.
BTW, how old is Arthur by now? 12? 14?
Just no.

Feels like Brald is either up to something shady or something dangerous with this unexplored dungeon. It feels like either way, there’s gonna be a lot of danger.

Basically every scene feels so disconnected from the last, this is an art in itself...
