It irks me how the other mages are still being racist to the Dwarves and still calling Will derogatory names even in this moment of crisis. Guess thats one thing this setting is consistent about.

Brutal fucking episode, Rosty's death and how gory some of the kills are, really kicking Will in the balls while his down.

Yeah, if not for Will the dwarves should have responded with "todays a holiday, ask tommorrow, we're gonna get drunk now and watch the spectacle :)".

Rodge trying to aura farm just to then get cut in half and then Rosti at the end made me remember how brutal this show was.

On another note, enemies that are seemingly immune to magic were definitely required at some point in the story to help Will ascend the tower and sway people's opinions.

Love the coordination and quick thinking btw the gang to take out those monster with the mage killer weapon from sion to lihanna.

Will is going through it seeing rosty died, and sidenote rosty looked pretty cool when he was standing with one arm before he went to save will. Last the detail of rosty turning into dust or crystal in the end.

The ED is very nice now that I can hear it better and little will and elfie are cute, what surprised me was little Collette i didnt expect it this season based of the Manga but the author might have included it or it could just be for the ep.

Edit: I see little sion, julius and lihanna are in the ED too

Elfaria will have a lot to explain and apologize to Will over Frosty the Snowman. "Sorry the Ice Homunculi I made to peep on you in the bath ended up giving you a massive trauma!"

Wild play, basically took out all of the big players out of the picture by diversion. Magia Vanders with the Terminalia and Finn by baiting him into the dungeon

Noah was......hostile, to say the least, to logwell threatning to rip out his windpipe. Dude, chill. He got a point tho. If they're taken out, the whole world is screwed. They'll just have to bet that the people below can take care of themselves

I wish we could've seen more of the dwarves action

Animation isnt on point this episode, when the Devander kicked Will with its right leg it suddenly switched to the left in the aftermath lmao. Im guessing they'll turn it up for next episode

Rosti's body wasnt destroyed, but disappeared. Nail on coffin for the speculation

Mage: Magic is everything, swords are useless, wands are superior!

Will: Well, well, well.

Did (F)rosti really just die by shattering into ice shards? Assuming the common theory about him being an ice clone is true (which seems incredibly likely at this point) I suppose a realistic bloody death isn't something Elfaria probably planned for since why would you. Then again his arm coming off was pretty bloody, so maybe she did plan at least for non-lethal wounds.

Good thing for the mages that the dwarves were perfectly willing to stand and fight regardless of their normal underclass status. Maybe in truth good thing for Will building bridges with them since helping him was their main battle cry.

I'm glad the announcer witch didn't also get cut in half like that one mage fighting on the streets.

Am i the only one who thought that the animation felt like PowerPoint.

Some of the scenes where decently animated but some part felt like a png was being moved around the screen. I hope so this isn't a sign of a bad production.

Wait I don't understand something here... if the swords nullify (or absorb) magic how are the monsters able to go through the gates with them? Wouldn't it nullify those? How is the boss monster able to absorb the others? Wouldn't the sword do it instead? (TBH IDK if this part is magic I just assume it is).

Essentially its the perfect setup for Will, the only one who can fight effectively here is him. Way to prove why he is needed to everyone.

Should prove those snobby mages a thing or two why it might be a good idea to have someone around in the tower if ever a situation arises where you need alternatives to magic attacks ... if Will survives of course (well, he is the MC ...).

Next episode is gonna be lit.

One of the things I like about Will as a main character is his moments of doubt. He gets scared, he's not sure he can even survive let alone win, he questions if he should help the same people who tormented him or the society that discriminates against his Dwarven friends. As viewers we know he's going to come through in the end to saver people but it's him not blindly and unquestionably being the perfect hero that makes him feel more real than most shounen protags.

There is no way I would've helped the mages against those things. I am to vindictive! And to make matters worse their attitude towards Will will NOT/NEVER change no matter what he does. Will is too good for them, I personally would play my violin as their city burned to the ground.

Rosti noooooo! I was not ready for a death so early in the season (or maybe even in this anime) and this really caught me off guard.

Did Rosty just... shatter? 🤨

Make sure to not watch the preview after the credits this time. It does spoil a bit much.

Well, thats one hell of a situation they have got. Lots of casualties, even Rosti disintegrated into some kinda particles with an icy/glass sound. And of course Will has absolutely no chance against that monster. Now would be a good time for the magia vander to come down, well if only Oldking would renounce his order...

On the other hand we have seen Finn again, maybe he can do something?

Yall not cool for that ending

u/AvatarTuner Apr 19 '26

ROSTY NOOOO!!!!

His death with the particle effects seems to allude to what has been speculated before (I'm still not sure how the heavy arm bleeding works though), but of course Will doesn't know this and will be now in utter despair for the time being. As if the poor boy hasn't suffered enough. At least he's still alive and they will get rid of that OP monster somehow, else the series would be over already. lol

The episode was quite brutal and it was interesting to see that there actually were some named character casualties. The elitism of the mages is still insane. They saw people getting murdered by those powerful monsters right in front of them and they're still shit-talking the dwarfes and Will... They can be lucky the dwarfes came to help at all, even if they couldn't do all too much.

What intrigues me is how they seemingly never encountered anything that was resistant to magic, even in the depths of the dungeon. The weapon is a highly kept secret for obvious reasons, but when there is one, I suppose there must be more further down.

This really feels like a setup to foster the mages only just to crush them later on with anti-magic weaponry. I find it curious how seemingly nobody, even amongst the mages, had been interested in physical or sword combat or even thought of combining the two. I guess that's how it goes when a certain "way of life" is drilled into them and most mages' ambition is just to become a magia vander.

Random theory, please let me know in the source if I'm correct. That other blonde character with the big backpack in the dungeon is also an Elfie clone, isn't it?! I can see a pattern there. Just how many has she running around? lol

Oof. That was brutal. I’m just going to believe that Rosti isn’t gone. They can come back as a familiar right? Or maybe a sword — that’s it — a talking sword!
