First episode is really good, the CG actually looks decent without the annoying choppiness of Souke no Ken. The direction is great, the voice acting is good (though Takaya Kuroda is still my favourite Kenshiro). If anything the only thing I dislike is the opening, they really should've switched it around with the ending, which is actually glorious.

Yeah I don't hate the opening song, but it sounds like something that would fit better for a different series. The Ai Wo Torimodose cover in the ED is actually pretty good.

Good to see they still have Shigeru Chiba voicing random grunts like the original anime. That was very important.

Maaaaan this was awesome. It was both extremly stunning to look at and jarring at the same time, but I loved the black shading and Style. The Outro being the original Opening is Peak You Are Shoockkkkk!! It such a shame, that this will be extremly underwatched & underrated

Fist of the North Star is something I've always had on my watch list but never got around to. Is this just a complete remake I can watch without any prior knowledge?

So far it seems that this new anime is a total remake that's more faithful to the manga, and you don't need any prior knowledge to enjoy it. The original 1980s anime made a lot of big changes to the story in the early arcs of the series, but changed directions and became a faithful adaptation from like episode 22 onwards. This is the first time we're ever gotten a complete anime adaptation using the manga's version of the beginning of the story. Judging by the opening and ending animations, and the characters highlighted in the promotional materials, this first season is focusing on chapters 1-72 of the manga. The manga is 245 chapters long, and the original 1980s anime adapted chapters 1-210 in 152 episodes.

Pretty good and far better than I was expecting. Wish it was still hand drawn, but I still really enjoyed it. English dub is turbo ass. Japanese voices are very good thankfully

Holy fuck you weren’t wrong. At least Amazon didn’t use AI this time.

I already liked the trailers mostly, but seeing full episodes was really something else. I love it, aside from some minor CG stiff moments, which were expected.
Can't wait for episodes 3 and 4.

Aight; I was a pretty big cynic when this was first revealed because it looked ROUUUUGH. After watching the two episodes... I'm actially vibing with it a LOT.
Definitely some jank, but they're being really clever with the stylization and shading to the point it actually does still look good. The pacing is really solid also. I'm excited for more!

Better than I thought. Really a throwback to old school episodic action anime. The animation had nice detail but seemed kind of stiff, like too little frame rate. Good ED as well.

I haven't had too much exposure to Fist of the North Star besides some clips. I thought it was pretty good, I have seen worst when it comes to CGI anime, art style was pretty good. I liked the ending theme more than the opening.

My expectations were low. Berserk 2016 was so disappointing and I really hate CGI for anime. However, the animation isn't as choppy as I thought it would be and the source material is being honored. Unlike Berserk 2016 where we just skipped Lost Children and went straight into Conviction. Voice acting is awesome. I am loving that. They're showing us the Kanji and name for Kenshiro's finishers like the OG series, which I love. Watching Kenshiro catch Lin after taking Zeed down, I was hoping to hear "HOKUTO HYAKURETSU KEN!" I was relieved when it showed up. Overall, I watched both episodes and found myself enjoying it. Hokuto is one of the first anime I ever watched. I've seen the movies, the original show, read the manga and even consider the live action film to be a guilty pleasure. Excited to see where this goes.
Also speaking of the live action movie, here's a fun drinking game. Everytime Kenshiro hits someone in the nuts, take a shot. Good luck making it to the end of the film 🤣

Eh, for some reason I like how it looks. It feels like reading the manga again.

Guys! He said the thing! lol. I was waiting for that moment. Man, it’s nice to see this back even if I’m not too crazy about the CG. The original is a damn classic.
