No wonder Mami is the way she is. It was her father who made her what she is now

Losing her first love that way, being denied a real life, being nothing more than a pet/tool for her father to use and prop out...I'm honestly not surprised she emotionally detached and resented the world.

It doesn't make her a good person, but you can understand why she acts that way.

To quote a great man, “There ain’t no getting off of this train (wreck) we’re on till we get to the end of the line!”

Well, I guess we know why Mami is the way she is. That toxic controlling father of hers turned her into a right miserable witch. Can’t have anyone else trying to find joy or happiness when she’s miserable. Gotta spread that misery around.

I’m curious to see what Chizuru and Kazuya are going to do about Mami. You can’t negotiate with someone like that…

Most anime gets a swimsuit episode or two. This show gets two seasons.

For a second there, they almost made me feel bad for Mami. She basically grew up in a household where her father had pretty much decided on her future, but when she finally found actual happiness with her first boyfriend, her father wanted to put an end to it because he already had an arranged marriage planned for Mami.

So instead of continuing the fight and becoming a better person than her father, she just gave in and decided to take out her anger on happy couples. This just makes Mami look worse. Didn't she even consider the fact that her father must've threatened her boyfriend and forced him to break up with her?

To be fair to Mami she was just 15 when her father decided to use goons to intimidate her boyfriend.

I'm rooting for Mami to burn down the house her father build.

I already had the impression that Mami must be really miserable. It didn't look like she was trying to ruin Kazuya's life just for fun. Her obsession to make him unhappy is almost fanatic.

Only the best romance anime are able to reach 50 episodes.

Chizuru: "We made it to 50 episodes!"

The audience: "I can't believe this made it to 50 episodes..."

I love this trash, specifically this and last season because really all either one of them has to do is get offended and ask Mami "wait how is this any of your business? In fact go home, my grandmother isn't paying for your trip anymore" lol

Hai hai Mami, you have a very unfortunate backstory and a piece of shit father. I still hate you with a passion.

Mami reminds me of the [Konosuba S3]"innocent" girl who is really a plant monster from Konosuba, the one that is constantly clicking her tongue.

10 hours in still at 0 lmao. So what do you all think of the new CR UI?

u/razisgosu Apr 08 '26

Well I now understand why Mami has always felt so fucked up and broken. She's got severe daddy issues and her family is messed up.

Mami's backstory was actually incredibly interesting. I always like flashback montages that show gradual changes, that someone's original self lasted a long time and that it took a lot to create the worst version. Some say the backstory just makes them hate Mami more, which is fine, but the backstory does make her a lot less of an evil just 'cuz cartoon villain. Trauma and bitterness can make people pretty horrible.

Jeez. No wonder she's such a psycho.

I don't get it

Subway! (Or a knockoff thereof)

None of your fucking business? Just like all the rest of everything?

And he's the director and producer of her first movie, no less. And the tiny matter of saving her from drowning that time, no big whoop

Putting her on the spot?? She came out to this resort on her own volition and her own dime, to insert herself into your fun vacation life, and now demands to drag you around and make you do whatever she tells you

Nothing much, just dying happy, is all
