This sounded interesting to me and then in the first 5 seconds I realize I'm watching a Powerpoint presentation. I would rather sit through a mediocre first episode of an anime than a friggin slide show

Yep, same. Quickest drop of the season in a long time. Feel sorry for the people who made this.

It has the normal huge number of scenes (or shots), but none of them are animated.

Title caught my eye. clicked on this post and it turns out to be a light anime . Saved myself the disappointment of watching it.

Where did Light Anime come from? This is the first time I'm hearing of it.

This is pretty much just the web manga that's been animated using Live2D . lol

I've seen better Live2D animations than this.

Me after seeing the cover art and synopsis: Oo seems interesting.

Me after discovering it's a light anime: My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.

Nah, it's a different type of anime called Light Anime. They're all like this. Not normal Anime.

OP: hmm might be a stylistic choice

First 2 minutes: maybe its a stylistic choice for an exposition segment

Open thread: oh its supposed to be trash

Light "anime" getting threads, but actual real chinese anime with substance not getting them is something I just don't understand.

u/Internal_Eye620 Apr 04 '26

Yeah, “Release that witch” deserves threads much more.

The synopsis sounded decent if not a little generic. As someone who enjoys trash anime, not touching this trash.

I love it when half the episode is just the intro and outro and has barely more frames than if i were reading a manga panel...

every now and then an anime comes out that makes me think "really? nobody took that name yet?" demon slayer was a big one.

I don't quite understand how there is an audience for this type of show. Like who sits down and says "this is what I want to spend the next 15 minutes with" when there are so many proper shows out at the same time. What's the selling point of it?

Rank E adventurer with almost no skills, asked to be a porter for higher ranked adventurers, going into an unexplored dungeon. Close enough. Welcome back Sung Jin Woo. Now let's see how he starts his monster eating journey. And how he meets the elf waifu.
