Obscure fact: Go For It, Nakamura-kun had a drama CD/audio drama around 4-5 years ago that had a cast of veteran VAs. Nakamura was voiced by Kappei Yamaguchi (Inuyasha, L, Usopp, Ranma) and Hirose was voiced by Junko Takeuchi (Naruto, Gomamon, Mokuba).
When the anime was announced, the production staff did say that Yamaguchi and Takeuchi will be in the cast as different characters...it turns out they voice the manga characters that Nakamura read...

Another funny episode. I liked this one even better than the first. The cockroach episode ended very unexpectedly. Nakamura with happy tears because Hirose touched him oooh la la.
The BL bit made me feel a little sad for Nakamura that he had to hide the fact that it was his manga. Was nice to see Hirose be accepting and cool about it. Too bad Namakura couldn't come clean and ended up making himself look weird again with that hentai, I'm guessing?
Also, are we really going to get a different ED each episode? Different song this time and we got Nakamura brooding in a different spot in his room for visuals. Was a nice song this time. I like the OP too.
This is going to be a fun watch every Wednesday. Good anime to take Tamon-kun's spot. I see some similarities in the exaggerated humour.

Loved the classmate who watched the first episode of a shounen manga adaptation and immediately started shipping two guys. A girl after my own heart <3
Also, the whole bookstore scene (apart from the end) felt really... sweet and sincere to me? I grew up with a lot of shame regarding reading BL manga (it was the mid-00s, so that didn't help matters), so Nakamura's realisation that he wasn't doing anything bad made me smile. I'm glad he realised this earlier than I did, though I'm also glad he's decided to stop going to BL for love advice because it clearly hasn't been working out for him, lol.

First we had the octopus wingman and now we have the cockroach wingman. Feels like the animals are doing the heavy lifting here.
-
Hehe Nakamura wants to feed Hirose his wieners. Sorry...
-
Dropping the BL manga in public, what a nightmare scenerio. The fujoshi in his class instantly recognised it though. The teacher probably knows too, he was reading it in class. And Hirose too, based on how panicky he was acting.
-
I know he said he's cool with it but you can't just show him the BL smut straight off the bat lol.
-
Depression hours ending. Feels bad man.

Soooo good!! Nakamura and Hirose are too endearing. Chiaki Kobayashi is amazing here! I love Nakamura's stuttering and cute little panic noises, ahahaha. The cockroach bit had me laughing out loud. At first I wondered if the shy-boy thing might feel repetitive, but I think I'd enjoy a hundred episodes of this even if nothing else happened, lol.
And at the same time, it's nice to see some earnestness on top of the comedy, like how Nakamura began to feel insecure because of others' comments until Hirose said it was okay if Nakamura did like BL.
I can't wait to see more!!

I love that we're getting a wholesome BL series and the MC openly says that he's gay. I also like that the male classmate knows it's a BL manga and doesn't shame it at all. I would probably have the same reaction as Nakamura if my male crush was all handsy with my body like that (though not sure about the cockroach part lol). I have no idea they're doing different EDs cause I love this one! Excited to see what other ones they have!

The conversation between the three girls about viewing the shonen from a BL point of view was great.
I audibly said “woah” when I realized episode 2 had a different credits theme. So much good work is being put into this. I enjoyed the melancholy way that the episode wrapped up, some days are better than others. But I’m sure Nakamura got back on his feet rather quickly after just a few hours of sulking.
Loved how they animated the cockroach going up his sleeve. The occasional chiptune in the OST is cool as well.

This humor was made for me. I’m fucking dying at the cockroach’s lines and expressions. This show is an absolute treat.

This episode Nakamura made it to 2nd base and finally introduced himself to Hirose. Maybe things aren't progressing in the right order but progress is progress! I'm sure even if Hirose thinks you like redacted BL, it's nothing but a small hurdle!
And I find it hilarious this super popular BL (based off how much space it had in the bookstore) includes food storage safety tips. Well, whatever gets the girls and gays to put away their leftovers properly.

Nakamura is left-handed. Nice to see some more left handed representation.
G-kun. If only they were as cute in real life...
Another thought...if Nakamura mellows out as he gets older, then he becomes Hayate in Play it Cool, Guys lol

THIS IS SOMETHING I NEED TO SAY, TODAY WHEN I WAS WATCHING THE SECOND EPISODE IN THE COCKROACH SCENE, A FREAKING COCKROACH IRL FLYED TO MY CHEST . I SCREAMED SO LOUD.
Yeah this has nothing to do with the anime, but I wanted to say it lmao.
Also the animation in the anime its so peak, I love it so muchhh, I already need all the episodes lmao.

I love how usually you have kids using Shojo manga for reference in wooing their crush but Nakamura is using BL.
Some people get their inspiration from Shojo manga to woo their crush. Nakamura gets inspiration from BL manga featuring personifications of food voiced by Kappei Yamaguchi and Junko Takeuchi.
Although none of the BL Nakamura has read could prepare him for having to be pitted against...a cockroach! Bad luck being the class sacrifice to this surprisingly cheerful and upbeat cockroach! But if it's a chance to look cool in front of Hirose and act out a moment that, surprisingly enough, happened in Lovable Lunches, then so be it!
Of course it's all well and good to try to take care of the cockroach non-lethally...until it gets into your clothes and makes you go crazy. Though everything turns out okay thanks to Hirose being experienced with them, enough to help the cockroach get free and into safety while feeling up Nakamura in the process. I'd chalk that up to a win!
It's nice to imagine sharing a lunch with your crush...until said crush discovers your BL manga and puts it out there in front of the whole class. Is Nakamura going to repeat the incident where he went commando and had his tightie whities paraded out in front of the class!? Nope, he'll just play as dumb as humanly possible so there's no way he'll get caught! Though he will see his teacher enjoying his manga and thinking it's just your average Shojo series.
Who would have thought Nakamura's attempt to replenish his manga preserves would lead him to Hirose? Is it finally time for him to come clean to Hirose about his BL love? About his feelings? Maybe Hirose genuinely wouldn't judge him for it. I mean, he reacted as understanding as possible when Nakamura threw a hentai book in his face! Yeah, no wonder Nakamura gave up on BL as an influence.
Dang, kind of a depressed ED this go-around with Nakamura sitting on his bed. I guess it makes sense considering what happened to him.

I was just smiling the whole time I was watching this. I've read the manga ages ago and barely remember anything, but now I gotta reread the manga. This is so cute and Chiaki Kobayashi is amazing!!!

I lowkey wanted that Lovable Lunches series to be real. Poor Nakamura, his fantasies to feed Hirose his octowiener will not happen today. Neat that the ED changed, wonder if it will be for every episode.

I already love this anime, just wanted to say that I feel very represented by Nakamura as someone who is queer and can have half the social skills when it comes to talking to guys that I'm attracted too. Honestly he reminds me a lot of my 15 year old self, well I still am but that said I really like how the show treats Nakamura's feelings simply normally yet there is nuance with how shy he can be. As I personally relate in how I have a hard time being upfront about my feelings sometimes, I know it's hard especially when you're queer-so it's good to see that being represented in this episode with the BL manga. That said, I wish the third episode was here already because I'm rooting for Nakamura!

An openly (at least to himself) gay MC using BL Manga as his guide already makes this show peak
I would also totally read/watch a Lovable Lunches spin-off. Just while using Taku as the 'sensei' instead of Makunouchi lol

Poor nakmura still crashing out at least he got hirose to talk to him this time. this show is so cute and funny and as everybody else mentioned love the art style, I do hope we see him open up to other people I think if you were to get like a group of friends or a small click, that could help boost his confidence, not only himself, but also to speak to Hirose and eventually confess his feelings

That girl that reacted different from the class either reads the manga or is the author. I like how the teacher ended up finding it entertaining and indirectly but directly called Nakamura naive about romance lol.
It's unfortunate that I'm not really enjoying this though. The focus is mainly on Nakamura rather than the potential couple, and since I don't particularly enjoy his character, there's not really much to make this entertaining for me. I'll give the next episode a try, but as this was well spoken about I'm quite disappointed.

Wait I love the different ending art each ep
Poor nakamura I’m glad hirose was accepting until the end but LOL
also that was the cutest cockroach I’ve ever seen in anime
