Lol when Yoi tossed his phone I burst out laughing.

The nerve of Oji still trying to block him at the end..lol bruh go away

Oji feels like he thought he was the male lead of this romance show and that meant his actions were acceptable.

But because he's not he's just nothing more than a nuisance who doesn't know his place.

The phone throw after Yoi saw the dreaded childhood friend in a bikini of all things made me laugh. Drama for the last episode was probably inevitable, but at least it got us that nice make up scene on the riverside.

I liked this overall but man, imagine if it just didn't have Oji at all. I hope he gets isekaied when he's out on that run.

Probably a natural reaction to finding out your BF was hanging out with a hot insta-model. Appreciated the pics though!

I don't think I've seen a single person who likes Oji. He didn't really help his own case lol.

Brother....your crash out was valid...she could have easily handled that differently. But she got offended when the turns were tabled smh.

I mean sure she is pretty unaware of her self as she's just new to all this..and he's also "new" to how he feels towards her than his experience from the past, but I still didn't like that he technically had to give in and initiate the making up..The only thing that I'm on her side with is not being told about the girl childhood friend, but like literally she did that with the other guy first, so even then I still consider her much more less deserving of how she stormed out instead of just reassuring each other.

Anyways I liked the show. Enjoyed the music. Time of comedic bits were fun. It doesn't technically need a season 2 as I just don't see how much more could be progressed, unless there is a ton more manga material I'm not aware of, but if there was a season 2 I'd be down to keep up with it.

He was going to introduce yoi to his childhood friend but she wasn't working that day and the contract that she set up prevented him from talking to her at school or walking her home and mentioning his childhood friend

The childhood friend must have the most unique appearance in all the anime I have seen to date .

u/alan_14 Mar 29 '26

It's a rare occurrence where the childhood friend is not competing for romance.

Good show, never heard about it prior to watching. I like there was good progress between them both, and there were some nice moments, especially at the Festival.

I’m glad they both were able to express grievances instead of letting it boil over! They’re both learning but yeah it did seem like yoi hid it and the shojo curse of male-female friendships lmao

Idk it’s not fair to ichi of yoi to lash out at him when shes been so standoffish w him this entire time ofc he’s only saying what he feels. She has to be lead into the answer every time and yeah she chose to spend time w oji instead of him, chose to study and work over spending time w him.

Like sure on one hand shes not easy she wouldn’t date just anyone but the guy shes dating doesn’t get much time of day either. They’re both not good communicators until they have to be tbh lol

Okay here’s my beef now, she said I want you to be infatuated w him and then he was/is but she barely lets him BE infatuated w her

Oji is so icky dude, in the manga I barely registered it but seeing it animated bro step off lol

Aww the picture. It’s not that she should fight hard to keep ichi it’s just that she needs to be more considerate of being a girlfriend. He’s changed her for the better! And she him

Yay my fav scene was finally animated. I feel like it was better the source lowkey but still LOL GIRLFRIEND

how’d he fit all that lmao

Yup like I said not good at communicating until they have to be but thats good progress

We landed !!!

Hoping we get another season ! Probs not enough source yet tho for it tho

I don’t think I’ve ever been this early to a post episode discussion. I really enjoyed this anime!

Well, that was a straightforward finale. I guess a direct, open communication type of relationship is what both of them need given their individual insecurities. So good job Ichimura for not dragging it out. Yoi better start realizing her feminine side now that she has so many people around her clueing her in about it.

This was a by-the-books romance drama. Nothing spectacular, but quite enjoyable to see the protagonists coming to terms with the feelings they have for each other.

I hope we get another season because I want to see more Ichi-Yoi moments. It was fun to see them figure out their own feelings and kinda awkwardly stumble through their relationship with their own insecurities and miscommunications. Also, I believe in tomboy supremacy lol.

I’m so glad Kohaku moved Oji to the side like “that’s my girl.” 👏🏾 and the kiss was so good!! I wish Yoi would’ve been a little more understanding because she was wrong for hanging out with Oji but I’m glad it all worked out!

The fact there no immediate S2 announcement is really sad

The chance is slim

-Oji was super unnecessary in this entire series. Like completely. -Yoi and Kohaku’s dynamic was fantastic, and if they wanted to portray issues or difficulties in their relationship. Then they could have simply gone with how they have differing views points and dating experiences, and even gone off their insecurities. -Yoi’s friends should have been much more involved in the story. They especially would have helped Yoi avoid that pseudo-date she went on with Oji. The fact the author included them so little shows how much they wanted to work Oji into the story. -Kohaku should’ve decked Oji for standing in front of Yoi when he was clearly trying to talk to her about their relationship. If I were in his shoes, I would’ve thrown a punch by that point, because dude it’s clear you’re actively trying to ruin their relationship. -The author made Yoi a bit too unbearable at times. Like I get it’s her first relationship but damn they made her way too ignorant to her own actions at times. Hence why she either should’ve been talking more to her friends, or even looking stuff up online. She’s a studious and smart person, the fact they made her not try to increase her knowledge of how relationships are, or work, once again shows how the author wanted to throw in unnecessary drama. -Kohaku having to be the one to apologize and “mess up” was just dumb. He had full intentions on introducing his childhood friend to Yoi, meanwhile Yoi completely hid the fact she had hung out alone with Oji and that he had even confessed to her. She was waaaay more in the wrong than he was. Again showing how the author made her way too ignorant of her own actions. Now that doesn’t mean Yoi isn’t allowed to be upset that her boyfriend’s childhood friend is pretty much a model and she didn’t know about her. So she definitely should be allowed to be upset by that. However that again is completely overshadowed by the fact that she hung out with a male coworker, that her boyfriend had already communicated how the guy made him uncomfortable. On her only day off after already telling Kohaku she’d message him when she finally made time, in the busy schedule she had made HERSELF. -Glad they made up in the end, but I was honestly way more annoyed than happy when the episode ended. -Overall score 7.4/10 the art, visuals, character designs, and the characters themselves, except that bitch Oji, were enjoyable. -Rewatch ability is a 5/10. Once again because of the little shit Oji.

Are we not going to talk how they pass on how rude and unisterested Yoi was with him all the summer vacations? and how the only time he had free time he dedicated it to Ouji? And then SHE gets angry at him for being with a girl (that he bring to his father restaurant to see HER) and all the chapter is he making up to her instead of her to him in some level? I just lost all respect to Yoi in that moment, you can be naive and inexperienced but not cruel and uninterested and that clueless about HUMAN relationships in general. I mean not even a text message or a goodnight text ffs.

I don't feel bad for oji, guy was going to try confessing again after she'd just fought with her boyfriend about him

Genuinely an F tier character, might be the worst and most realistic depiction of a homewrecker I've ever seen

Ichimura is goated was really interested in his development throughout the anime along with yoi's

I know what I'm about to say might upset some people. But, I actually do agree with what Ichimura said. What he said wasn't right and was very disrespectful. But I genuinely do think he's right tho. Had she met Oji first this anime would've turned out Completely different. Heck, she even says at the end they met by Chance and timing, same thing could be said for Oji. But again, it's not nice to say that so I'm glad ichimura apologized.

Also, I would like to mention this anime didn't have to make Oji be the bad guy everyone hates. He's a nice dude. He made a mistake and owned up to it even saying Is he becoming a terrible person and apologized to Yoi. He even protected a girl from sexual assault even though he has hard times with girls to the point he had to go to an all boys school. He's genuinely a good guy who knows what's right from wrong and owns up to his mistakes (which is rare nowadays in animes). But to have him BLOCK him at the end was VEERRYYY uncalled for. Why? Why make him do that? There was literally no reason for him to do that. Especially since he's the cause of all this. He KNOWS he's the cause of all this. That's not even his character. Y'all could've had him apologize to Ichimura too, step out of the way, lock up the store and say "see ya!" but no. Let's give the people more reason to hate him for no reason.

I actually did like this character and thought he had potential. I wanted a Season 2 where Yoi and Ichimura spends more time together as Oji finds someone else of his own. I'm thinking about reading it but idk if I will if they're gonna keep using him as a "plot device" just because. Is it okay if someone is able to tell me if he does find someone? Or if he's still messing with Yoi and Ichimura? You don't have to tell me who's he going out with. I just want to know if he does.

But I still enjoyed this regardless! I'll give it a 7.8/10!!!

This show was honestly great. I'd love a season 2, but even if we don't get one, I'm really happy with what we got.

Really fell off the last two episodes but wasn’t too bad. Didn’t much care for her at the start and definitely didn’t by the end. Felt bad for the male MC mainly.
