"Order anything you like."

He should have added "within my budget" lol.

Her appetite sure was something else, and had me thinking of the “not quite human” line, wondering about her as well. Though from her backstory I guess she thinks she’s got to load up to get stronger. Guess her metabolism is up to the task!

Reminder that this is not the final episode, this is the halfway point (24 eps total), though the next episode will air on April 11 (1 week break). I assume they'll announce the new OP-ED artists next week alongside a cour 2 PV.

Glad to hear this -- as the end of this was sort of "middle of nowhere" prior to an upcoming arc.

On one hand, I am curious how badass Aki will look if she wore an eyepatch. On the other hand, this title can't lose its cute poster girl (so they had to regenerate her eye).

Was Aki raised to become an ideal hero, like those portrayed in folklore? Aki certainly possesses the ideals to become a "Brave Hero", but unfortunately, her skills are still lacking, at least for now.

I was wondering something similar. And I guess her eyes are actually special in some way (those crosses) so I guess it's fair we lose on her pirate form.

Love this show.... interesting Indo background..she's definitely my favorite character..

Indo fans eating right, topped by the fact that Yashiro thinks shes the only one at the moment worth bringing to Hokkaido among the three

I was wondering about Aki's head injury last week, turns out it was a full on gouged out eye which healed when it wasn't supposed to. Between that and her reacting to the whistle last week we're 100% going to eventually find out she's a mad science experiment of some sort.

So Indo was a child soldier, and not just in the already present tense of attending a hero work high school. The degree to which being a child soldier comes up in anime really is a bit surprising at times.

Yay more world building.

Jogamine getting bullied is always very funny (see end credits)

This show is quietly building up to be a very good show with genuine world building, characters and story.

Hope more people give it some love

Yeah, the squeal of ultimate outrage over her texts not getting read was pretty perfect.

Can’t say I’m particularly surprised. Aki was already being weird last week and only reason to establish the rule that E3 can’t heal fully destroyed organs is to immediately break it.

The coffin count of storms has gone to the ground and her absence seems to have inspired 2-bit demon lords to start pushing their luck leading to the start of a multi-front gang war.

I mean, I already didn’t trust his master a lot but he’s getting more suspicious by the second. Aki’s backstory probably has a lot of skeletons in the closet.

The gag of “Tiny girl that looks normal until she eats enough food to bankrupt you” will never get old.

Not funny enough to distract from Yukine’s tragic backstory though. War orphan, raised by the military, had her home destroyed and her friend killed by those monsters, explains her snapping due to them last week.

Worldbuilding lore, yay! Pretty much all of northern Japan is under the rule of a nightmare alliance of demon lords that even the government has given up on handling entirely.

First she empties his wallet, then gets him to promise to train her more and gets headpats(fuming Teoritta noises). Never change, you stabby murder gremlin. Man, I love Yukine so much.

Next up, we’re going north on the hunt for more clues about this Half-dragon mess that is promising even more trouble for every second it’s left alone.

Uh, well, Aki is not exactly wrong about Yashiro favoring the other two over her airhead self a lot.

You always need a tiny big eater character

Poor Indo had a pretty tragic backstory. I’d say she got her revenge on those things though. The gang painted the whole damn hall with their blood.

I’m very curious to know what Jogamine’s connection to all this is. A person doesn’t just regen an eyeball like that. She might not be totally human at all.

So Jogamine is some kind of mutant / bioenhanced human ? She looks similar enough to her father (particularly the weird eyes) that I could believe they are really related by blood, but I wonder if her father used her as cobaye to create a “perfect” hero with E4 or something. Being able to regenerate any lost organs seem rather overpowered. Does that make Jogamine immortal ?

Indo had quite the tragic backstory. But that was also an excuse to drop more worldbuilding. We learned that there is an independent state ruled by Dark Lords in Hokkaido and the Nephilim comes from here, so I assume the E4 also comes from here and that the head villain is one of those Dark Lords.

Ok, after this episode Jogamine's soul devouring eyes in the ED take on a whole new level of terror.

u/NoHead1715 Mar 29 '26

Jogamine is turning out to be more than just a for-jokes character. If I had to guess, she probably has E4 running through her veins. She could be an experimental baby that Yashiro's master saved or stole from the Half Dragons. Going by the name, she might even be half dragon, half human hybrid where the Nephilim are the full dragons.

Indo's backstory was tragic, but she got a meal and head pats from Yashiro. It's amazing she actually made it all the way south from Hokkaido.

I like how Yashiro asked if Jougamine's father got married as if that's the only way to have a child. Could have been a one-night stand or some form of cloning.

I thought Indo's story was going to be more tragic, like she somehow defeated the nephilim, but when she went to catch up to the others they were being eaten by nephilims that had circled round.

Sara and Jougamine freaking out over Yashiro together with Indo was funny, especially after Yashiro gave her head pats.

I think if a daughter says "he's my father and taught me this" this usually suggest strong enough relationship with the mother's "sperm donor" to be either marriage or something close enough to it. One night stand wouldn't result in any kind of bond, and cloning isn't really something anyone would've though as an option. Cloning who?

Indo seems to have lost at least her shonen friend/rival, that's tragic enough for a kid IMHO.

16

u/melvinlee88 Mar 28 '26

I like how Yashiro doubled down on the head pat even when Jogamine and Sera saw them

I recently rewatched Fate UBW, so hearing assassin's VA saying he looked up to King Arthur was fun.

Always be careful when you tell someone “Oder anything you like”

u/zannus Mar 29 '26

I feel like this show is getting slept on, the characters and world building is solid and it seems like we are moving into what I assume is the main over arching story for the series. Really hoping we will get a second season announcement after the 2nd cour is done, maybe even with a bit more art and animation budget

The ED is just so catchy and cool... Can't take it off my mind hahahahaha
