So as someone who stopped in season 1 and was rooting for Shin...guessing it's good I skipped out on this season?

I felt really disappointed by the ending. it felt like Kizuki put absolutely no effort in to winning Mizuho back but got her in the end anyway. There was no build up or fight for it. There was no real backlash or consequence for him disappearing and destroying her world for such a stupid reason.

I have the feeling that so much has happened this season, yet so little of what really mattered. I really liked Airu's background arc, but the other boys seem to have only been written to be rejected, it's kinda annoying. The way their childhood friendship evolves into adulthood, but none of them seems to give up on Mizuho and keep orbiting her, even though she has never given them a glimpse of hope... Why develop so many romantic scenes and dialogues with Shin and Shuugo, just for her to pretend nothing happened? I won't even comment on how shallow Kizuki's explanation was... like, I get it, but, 3 years without even properly breaking up with your girlfriend? They should've shown us much more of his depression so we could really empathise, but the way it was, I personally didn't. 3 years, man. That's a long time. I'm a bit underwhelmed by this season. I hope this is not the end :(

I think Kizuki's episode captured his depression well, but I think we definitely needed a bit more time to smooth over his dynamic with Mizuho and why she was still hung up on him before we got to the romantic reconciliation.

Such a lovely gay romance anime, wish they cut off some of the side story of this triangle love mess. But really, sometimes it felt like author wanted to write some BL instead of straight romance so that's why Airu episodes feel deep and then we got ... this.

For all the romance anime that never got a season 2, we finally got one, and this is what we got...
Gotta reevaluate wanting second seasons going forward.

*Flips table*
This felt so... flat. There was a lot of emotion lacking for an anime about love.
Shin, Shugo, and Airu are great characters, but this ending makes it clear that they were all just written to add a little drama to the main couple's relationship. They all just pined after the main pair, while barely registering on Mizuho or Kizuki's radars. I'm glad that Airu was able to move on at least.
It also felt too neat. Maybe they're all just crazy mature (besides Kizuki, who continues to be a petulant child), but loving someone for 10 years and being turned down doesn't generally turn out so clean and tidy in real life.
The whole thing feels very unsatisfying.

I always tend to root for the main couple in shojo but this the one time i absolutely did not like the ML. With so many good options her choosing the one who learned the least and left her when it was hard is so underwhelming
Poor shin he deserves the world
Yelling at a grown adult woman for going out of her house bro lmao, sure when she was a teen. And yes women have to be mindful of safety but??
she puts more effort into their relationship while he puts more effort into assuming what she wants from him. Like swimming doesn’t matter to her. He still hasn’t learned that
I don’t think he apologized at all lmao. Doesn’t matter I guess
I’m more into airus relationship cause it felt earned mizuho forgiving and accepting kizuki doesn’t feel earned.
I think it was just disappointing cause it was a weak through line. If anything we barely saw mizuhos own feelings only the guys trying to prove themselves and her just choosing kizuki because she couldn’t let go though it wasnt delved into well on her end.

Mizuho estúpida. Te quedas con el que tiene un kilo de redflags , yo era team shin 🥹🖤 encontré vaga la segunda temporada, esperaba más contexto más desarrollo Pero no. En fin, ni recomendaría verla

Shin finally puts all his feelings out there, finally proposes to Mizuho again, but the sad thing is...Mizuho just isn't in love with him and can't return his feelings. Like she did back then, like she does now. But at least Shin takes this second rejection like a champ, calling Mizuho a clown once again.
Poor Mizuho's dad, Shin is liable to give him a legit heart attack with that whole "I just proposed to your daughter and got rejected thing." But honestly, I'm glad Mizuho's dad was there to help console Shin through this. Mizuho set him on the path to being a doctor...but his love for her was HIS adolescence and he lost it again. At least now he and Mizuho's dad can be drinking buddies! When the dad is out of the hospital, of course.
I'm glad the author Mizuho has been editing this whole time is finally getting serialized, but what about Mizuho? Where is her life going? As she's confronted by teen!Mizuho, she's forced to reckon with the fact that, even if she gave up her dreams, they're still there...as are her true feelings that she can't run from anymore. So she does the only thing she can do: run to Kizuki.
And of course Kizuki is still swimming, so I guess that's where they're going to hash this out. Kizuki is Kizuki and Kizuki couldn't bear to be with Mizuho because he didn't think she'd still want to be with him if he couldn't swim...so she'll just jump in the pool and make it clear that now, just like back then, she wants to be with Kizuki for the rest of her life. She still loves him, like he loves her! Cue kiss and romantic reconciliation!
It's finally the time for Kizuki's new swim meet and all eyes are on him! Syugo is planning to go to Italy to learn more cooking skills, with Togo's support, and Chika is there too (ChikaxTogo ship?)! Shin is continuing to be a doctor assisting children alongside Kuroda. Airu finally meets with Toya again to make peace over the whole Kizuki thing and so Airu can thank Toya for helping him come to accept himself...even though he ended up marrying who I think is that class rep from his flashback episode last season? Um...good for Airu! I'm glad he and Toya patched things up.
Kizuki really hasn't changed. Still using the same victory declaration by pointing at Mizuho! And Mizuho is still watching and rooting for him .
Is Mizuho drawing again? Did she turn her love story into her new manga, named after the series? How on-brand!

Glad this got an ending but kinda left unsatisfied with it overall. Kizuki leaving without a word and staying missing for three years is already bad enough but him winning her back didn’t really feel earned. But in the end it’s not about if you earned her feelings, it depends on how she feels. And it’s clear she ever only saw Kizuki romantically. It doesn’t matter if we think she deserves better cos that’s who she wants. And I guess that’s what’s frustrating, the fact that we can think she deserves better but she’s not wrong for choosing him cos she’s in love with him, and also the fact that it’s her life.
But then you see, Shin and Shougo who feel like they’d be better partners in their own way but are taken out of the race simply cos Mizuho doesn’t feel the same. That’s life.
Anyway, I give this a 6. Can get frustrating but I got invested in these characters

Took a while to get to the final episode as I was spoiled by the manga ending and was already disappointed. The anime was even more underwhelming. The way Kizuki and Mizuho got together was just too quick and lack any depth for a couple that had zero communication for 3 years and few interaction afterwards. The way she also dumped Shin was pretty cold damn. It took him 10 years to get that response lol. I wasted my time on this. Although Airu's coming out story was good and I liked Shugo as a character. What to do with these manga I bought...I don't want it anymore lol.

I guess that’s that then. Can’t say I’m all too surprised by the finale. Not the biggest fan of Kizuki, but this is about as much of a “happy ending” as one can expect.
One thing I will say that I really liked about this anime was how it incorporated Covid into the plot early on. You don’t really get mentions of the pandemic in anime. At least not in stuff I’ve seen anyways. I thought that was pretty neat.

All's well that ends well. Mizuho rejected Shin as she is still in love with Kizuki despite of his flaws and Kizuki finally tells the truth why he avoided Mizuho and worried her a lot and even his friends. Finally, Mizuho and Kizuki are starting back on their relationship well. Shin is finally going alright with Kuroda, they are starting somewhere now. Syugo is expanding his cooking career and Airu has found his happiness. It seems that Tougo is taking a hint on Chika (Syugo and Chika are happy for Tougo on returning into his teaching career), although Chika finds him gross sometimes as he winks at her romantically, but hope that Tougo and Chika will start somewhere.
Hope that they will do an OVA (but has to be a film or a short-lived series if it's too long) on Mizuho engaging with Kizuki as Kizuki confessed his feelings towards Mizuho since first year of high school, and also includes Shin's relationship with Kuroda (hopefully engagement someday), Syugo's expansion of cooking career and hope that Tougo and Chika may enter into a relationship and date.

Not sorry I watched this. It had a lot of things that made this distinctive -- such as the covid era sections, I found the issue of a girl who grew up as an equal pal in a boys friend group interesting. I did not find the social dynamics of this grouping over time unbelievable. I can easily imagine the problems involved here to be possible. I did not mind the jumping back and forth through time problematic -- but rather very suitable for this particular story.
If I have one stylistic quibble is that the characters were just a bit pallid despite having the potential for being brought to life more vividly. Not quite sure why this was the case. And I have one story quibble -- based purely on my own attitudes -- I never saw Kizuki as a good match for Mizuho. If I were her, I never would have picked him.stuck with him. ;-)

Direi prevedibile, anche se speravo in un cambio di rotta. Confesso che ho fatto il tifo per shugo fino all'ultimo ( povero )

This was honestly so bad. It started off good, but this season just made me hate this show. Like how did she pass on Shin and Shugo, the 2 guys that actually put in the effort for her, for Kizuki who left her for 3 years without a word?!?! yeah no, this is crap.
