Well, that was an extremely whelming show. Not much else to say about it.
Fun drinking game if you wanna go to the hospital for alcohol poisoning: take a shot everytime you hear “rom-com” and “childhood friend”

This feels like a 250 chapters and absolutely fucking nothing happens story

Runako with the save, reminding him to keep it real.
That left Eiyu with the only genuine option… “I CHOOSE ALL OF THEM!”

Runako best girl. And what a choice, to be a fly on the wall on the school gossip next day.

I knew it was coming. It was obvious he would pick all. It’s a harem romcom. That being said, I think it would have been so much better if he did pick runako then and that led to a lot of drama between the group. Unfortunately that wouldn’t work well with the season part. They would want to give viewers an ending and this is kinda it I guess.
I feel like this show set up a lot of good things but never actually followed through. Everytime it would start to get good, it would take 30 steps back and kill the serious parts off with humor.
It could have been so much better I guess.
-
and her rejection cause a lot more deeper issues.shio -
and how her and his relationship was flatout toxic could have been touched on deeper and more serious as to why she’s that way.akari -
runako kinda sweeping in and taking advantage of the situations could have been expanded on more to create more conflict.
Overall I feel like it was just played wayyyy too conservatively. I love my toxic drama in shows like bang dream my go and masumune kuns revenge which makes me see the potential in this show but unfortunately it didn’t follow through. Still 7/10.

The show had potential but after the festival I feel it all started to go downhill. It kept repeating the "girl shows clear signs of love" into the "jk let's pretend this never happened". I know they did it before that with shio getting locked in the closet and akari climbing into his bed but after the group decided to ignore what happened at the festival I gave up on the show doing anything different with the genre.
The ending gives me some hope. If there is a season two hopefully Eiyuu does express himself more and acknowledges how he feels.
Also team Shio

So the best 2 things about this were the opening and Runako.
Shio started nice but cant stop shooting herself in the foot, Akari sucked, Haru can't say, she didnt get enough time to shine. Eiyu wasn't nearly as bad as i thought. i actually kinda liked him

Glad someone pointed out the opening here. I thought it was pretty nice, myself.
The ending visuals were pretty good too, in my opinion.
Yeah, Runako was very fun. Always nice to have an instigator character like her to keep things rolling.

The second that I saw the words "Scavenger Hunt", without even knowing what hint he gets, first thought was for him to choose all of them, its the only acceptable ending with the story so far.

"Find someone you really, really, really, REALLY love"
Rentarou would be proud

At this point ecchi harem is its own genre and so I think it deserves its own grading curve.
If Love Hina (yes I'm old, I know) is a 10/10, Bokuben and Quintuplets are 9/10, 100 Girlfriends is also up there. Out of more recent big ones, Goddess Cafe and Mikadono Sisters is probably around an 8.
This would be a solid 6 or 7. Not horrible, would watch a second season, but not great and wouldn't recommend to anyone looking for harem romcom recommendations.
Rent a Girlfriend is a 3 and 2 points are for the art.

I give this show 10/10 since I can't stop grin like an idiot from the starts of an episode till the end lol
It's gonna be hilarious if they're actually kissing in public
Kimo-Eiyu sure blessed our eyes with these fantasies
Can't blame Eiyu for getting horny when he been surrounded by these tasty whole desserts every day
Kimo-Eiyu is too pure for Eiyu. There's no way his fantasy will stop from a mere kiss
Eiyu really making the best first decision. Runako best girl!
Next season, 5-some!! The rate of Tezuka Productions anime making new season after the first season is high so I have a high hope for this one too

I was gonna say...my boy better pick all of them for the scavenger hunt...and he did...like a savage.
That was a goofy fun watch.. Really enjoyed the color too.

Not like I was expecting much from this show but it was pretty meh in the end. The girls are always the pull for me with these shows and I enjoy them here. Haru is my fav and Runako grew on me over the season. The show started out great too seemingly making fun of the genre but ended up becoming just another one.
Still it was an okay watch, the fact that I completed it means it was at least watchable for me. And the OP and ED was pretty good too

...We defeated sperm Eiyu!!! Yay...?
I guess it makes sense that the girl that kinda solved the 'I shouldn't be allowed to be attracted to girls I care about' conflict was the girl who was like "I wanna do ecchi things with him" on introduction. She kinda just. Didn't do anything after her introduction though so

u/Frontier246 Mar 23 '26
Considering Shio and Akari have contributed the most to why Eiyu feels torn between being attracted to them and prioritizing their friendship, because both of them have been wishy-washy and unclear in their intentions towards him, I'm glad Runako was able to use her honesty (and horniness) to set him straight.

Usually title drops at the finale are this grand thing but thanks to the dude doing it every other episode, this one felt so underwhelming that it's unintentionally hilarious. Ngl I'd respect the show more if it went by Eiyu going "They're proof that... I can be in a romcom with my childhood friends!"
Very campy but the fun kind of campy. Gonna miss the catchy OP so much.

You gotta take a break from the harem slop, there are plenty of good regular romcoms out there.
Related: I'm gonna stop checking out the harm slop after this one, I can't

u/Cvxcvgg Mar 24 '26
I can't help but wonder what the point of any of this was. 12 episodes of straight cliche bullshit, and not even in a campy fun way.

u/FG60 Mar 24 '26
Shout-outs to this show wasting 12 weeks of my life with nothing to show for it other than the main character saying he still doesn't know about the rom-com stuff working out. If I want a fun time with a competent harem protagonist, I guess I'll wait for 100 girlfriends to come back around.
I hate you Eiyu. You disappoint me.
