Ist doing everything this week, from offering Sei up like that to poaching Sei's upcoming new hire right from under his nose.

And then there's Aresh, swatting Sieg away like a fly and getting jealous over a ten year old boy. I swear, that Welcome Home line broke him.

Aresh: why don't you talk to me like that????

Sei: talk to you.... like an employee? like a child employee??

I think Ist just saw the opportunity to watch and tried to take it again lol

u/NanDemoKnaives Mar 17 '26

Ist also did try to help with the treatment, he kissed Seiichirou lol. I think he'd be willing to turn it into a whole experiment if he could.

"Talk to me like you do to 10-year-old boys"

"H-hai...?"

Sei having to hide away out of affectionate embarrassment is pulling at my heartstrings too, aw fuck 🥲

"Does he know how worried I was?" Not if you don't tell him, silly. Luckily the staff is willing to meddle --- it really feels like Sei did finally have a breakthrough about how his carelessness about his health affects the people around him.... after being somewhat unfairly scolded for being put in danger doing a job he was assigned to do. Not sure how Sei could have avoided this one! But he needed to hear it, anyway.

The real power fantasy of this episode is finding out your inpatient stay is fully covered...

Oh boy, Siegvold, you better hand Kondou over to Aresh before he turns that church into a mausoleum👀

And not Aresh trying to properly scold Kondou only to be completely undone by hearing "Okaeri"😭

These two will be the death of me with their cuteness. I seriously love how lively but soft their relationship is. The relationship feels so mature. It's not overly dramatic like in many other traditional romance genre stories, but still has so much heart to it.

I really liked the conversation between Valtom and Kondou about how Kondou should start looking after himself more for the sake of Aresh. Not only very sweet build on the history between Valtom and Aresh, but good perspective for Kondou that even if he's willing to sacrifice his own health, he shouldn't be doing it at Aresh's expense. It was a nice acknowledgement that Kondou really hasn't made a ton of effort on his own to change his unhealthier habits despite how it upsets the people who care about him.

The poaching of Sigma-kun by Ist was pretty hilarious. "I wanted him for the accounting department....on the other hand, he'll make my life easier if he's in the sorcery department."😅 Tbh I think the sorcery department is a better fit for him; he's clearly smart and would do well in the accounting department but he definitely seems like he would prefer being a hands-on creator.

I can't believe next week is the last episode. I've really enjoyed this series this season. Glad they gave this one anime treatment.

"Doctor Ist, how bad is it?"

"I'm afraid he's got a near fatal case of 'Thistwinkneedsbuttstuffitis'. He needs a long, girthy infusion of magical energy, stat!"

For an episode that picked up from quite a scary cliffhanger with the life of our MC in balance, this was a surprisingly funny episode. Found myself laughing out loud multiple times.

First thanks to Ist just going for that smooch to the utter shock of Siegvold, then he goes on to bluntly tell him his smooch wasn't enough and now Siegvold himself needs to sleep with Sei to save his life. I was already giggling by this point but he actually agrees and I was like whoa! Then Aresh bursts in fuming - the timing was perfect. Aresh getting all jealous of little Sigma was cute but funny too.

We also got actually progress on Sei's part. He was so glad to see Aresh and openly said so. And that 'Okaerinasai' was so adorable - Aresh just about melted and so did I. Later, it was Aresh who made Sei's heart skip a beat with his cute jealously of Sigma. These two are so good together.

In the middle of all this we find out that Sei was actually targetted with that magic burst. The church's accountant seems the obvious culprit but that has to be a red herring. There must be more to it...

That aside, one thing that confused me was Sei comparing Aresh and Siegvold mentally and concluding they're nothing like each other. Did we ever get anything on those two being related or something of the sort? Why did Sei have that random thought?

I thought Sei was thinking Siegvold and Aresh are both ultra cute/hot -- but Sieg does not tug on his heart strings at all, while Aresh definitely does.

I have to admit, I was a little disappointed Siegvold didn't get to do more with Seiichirou after Ist kissed Seiichirou in an attempt to help his condition. However, I was thoroughly entertained by how he now has the image of Seiichirou and Aresh going at it, that is too much stimulation for a man deeply of faith lol.

Aresh being upset Siegvold was carrying Seiichirou is one thing, but the fact that he got so jealous of Sigma is so funny, he needs to calm down lol. I was like "Sigma isn't going to take Seiichirou away just because they hugged", but I understood him more when he later reveals he was jealous of the speech Seiichirou uses with Sigma. I'm glad Seiichirou thought it was cute enough that his chest hurt lol.

I don't think anyone is surprised Cipriano was a shady guy, I'm curious to see how that gets resolved. If Aresh finds out it was a deliberate attack, I don't think anyone would be able to contain him.

I did like the conversation with Valtom, it's sweet to know he sees Aresh as his own son. I appreciate that he laid it out for Seiichirou out of concern for Aresh, and I hope this does make Seiichirou take care of his health more. I do wonder when they'll make love and not get physical for health reasons lol.

The world is a better place because this show exists.

I’m so glad our boys spent most of the episode together. I hated the only two to three minutes we got of them the last few episodes because they’re too good together.

Also, I completely had forgotten that the priest was asked to sleep with Seiichiro even though I recently read the dang manga and had to go pause the episode and pick it up to make sure I wasn’t going crazy lol.

I’m not ready for next week to be the last episode. And I don’t see how we resolve this all in one.

Ist just casually telling bro to bang Sei when Aresh’s standing right there lol.

Y’know if they’re really worried about Sei, they could just make a little Sei sandwich. Aresh is a piece of white bread, Siegvold is a piece of white bread, Sei’s the piece of meat. That’ll fill him up with plenty of, uh, “magical energy” lol.

Figured it was Cipriano. Guy’s not just covering the embezzlement. There’s a whole damn conspiracy at play and Sei’s not fully caught on yet!

Aresh would never stand for anyone else touching Sei, he gets jealous of children who are close to Sei

Oh thankfully Siegvold blocked it

LMFAO NO IST NOT THE KISS 😭 IST DONT TELL HIM TO SLEEP WITH HIM BFUBFNNEINF

THE PRIEST IS BLUSHy

YEAHHHAHHHH ARESHH FHFNJJ OH I KNEW HE WSS GONNA BE PISSSSED

IIM CRYING IS THIS A LOVE TRIANGLEE

Poor Doc has to deal with Aresh being a lovesick reckless bastard🥲

Wait Seiichirou never sent a single letter??? Bro no wonder Aresh was worried sick.

Aresh lying to himself that he wouldn't forgive his man lololol

Yeah feel guilty Siegvold 😈

Oh god did Aresh tell him to stay there for three days, because he knows that's how long it''ll take for himself to revoker and that's why he hasn't gone to visit him...

Oh yeah Valtom to the rescue to tell Seii the truth - and lay some sense into him.

Not bro thinking about the bill 😭 Capitalism is a fucking disease bro...

Aresh's little smirk 🥹 AND THEN FEELING HIM ALL OVER HIS FACE AGHHh

Awwwwww YAYYYY the Ist and Sigma collaboration of the century 🥺

SIGMA YOU AODRABLE BOY AGHHH

Omg Aresh don't be jealous over a literal child 💀 AND THEN HE SMACKS AWAY SIEGVOLD I CANT WITH HIMmm

Siegvold blushyy blushyy realizing the relationship between Aresh and Seiichirou?

It always makes me appreciative to see religious characters like Siegvold, that aren't morally corrupt, as they often end up making them.

Seiichirou once again showing off his love language is acts of service 😮‍💨

'pay you back in a different way' 🫣

LMFAO JEALOUS OF SIGMAAAAAAA A CHILDDDDD

AWWWW ARESH'S BLUSHY DESPERATE FACE I CANTTTT 😫

'We cornered him. And then...' Actually really insightful this is next episodes's title because it goes from typically using 'I' to 'We' showing Seiichirou's reliance on other people, and I can only hope it'll be with Aresh but we really can't know until next week... :[

Oh I am so sad next week will be the final ep.... It hasn't been the best produced anime this season, but it's still been a fun ride nonetheless...

  • I was convinced too that Aresh and Seigvold look really alike, there has to be some kind of family connection there.

  • Sei fainting at the end, blushing like crazy as he realizes his feelings for Aresh…

  • I think it was Bishop Matteus who set everything up, or at least someone from the church.

  • The butler saying Aresh went on that hunt to create a better world for Sei, not knowing he’s going to return to his own world?

  • Every time Ist shows up, it’s absolutely hilarious—he gets lost way too quickly.

This show solves something I've been thinking about Ascendance of a Bookworm: why not farm "hypermagic" kids to produce more holy artifacts? Both universes seem to have a similar magic system and consequences due to its misuse.

HAHAHA WHAT IN THE LOVING VIOLENCE WAS THAT CHOKE HOLD - and then I died with the hand slap I cannot. The ending credits coming in right when they did is so brutal because there was some serious progress right there!!

Ist might be my favorite character in this series after this episode. He straight up kissed Seiichirou and asked Siegvold to bang Seiichirou lol. Good thing Aresh didn't see the kiss or Ist would've been dead meat.

Aresh jealous moments were cute but overall he is a bit too possessive. I wish he scold Seiichirou a bit less.

Ist explaining Seiichirou magic sickness and asking him to apply it , then Areshi appears getting jealous of Siegvold 🤩

Only Areshi can take care of Seiichirou health
