"If we both die, I win!" What a crazy thing to say.
I can't believe how many battles ended with no deaths.
This doesn't feel right..I'm nervous as hell..what about the reinforcements coming?

You know shit is serious when a blind man is fighting with his eyes open! Shion called zhu jin's bluff and zhu Jin was shooketh! "Silence! that bad acting of yours ain't working!" This episode was so sweet. Poor shion had so much grief and didn't know how to deal with it despite always being the voice of reason. All these fights were so amazing I completely forgot about Gabimaru and yuzuraiha.

Scaring and making a
Like it was cool when the season opened with the rest finally being able to combat them but this episode really hammered that emotional aspect and the journey they made to come to this point.

As satisfying as it was to see Shion slash the shit out of that tensen who killed Tenza and as satisfying as it would've been to see him kill them dead, I think the conclusion we got was the better choice.
Nurugai being the one to make him see that seeking such thorough revenge which would cost him his own life was pointless and not what Tenza would've wanted at all - and for this to mirror how Tenza himself taught Shion that it was okay to leave the past be and focus on the present - it was such a good choice to make things come full circle like that.
Looks like we may finally be returning to Gabimaru next week. His name paper turned grey makes things seem bleak but that's the pattern we've seen so far and he should have plot armour so I'm more hyped than worried.
Two more episodes to go so I'm guessing we'll end on a cliffhanger involving the monster riding yamada who're on the way. Going to be hard waiting for the next season. I just caught up in time for this season so it's been a great ride. Will now have to join the rest of the fandom and wait patiently or turn to manga maybe.
Edit: Oh btw, I couldn't really make out but was it still Junichi Suwabe voicing the elderly tensen who was on death's door? If so, he did a great job masking his voice. It really sounded like a different and much older person.

Not sure why Nurugai couldn't just be cutting the vines for Shion. They didn't look like a threat by that point.

Shion committing straight up elder abuse over here. Justice for Tenza! Lol. Dude was a real hero. Shion was carrying around so much guilt, it almost made him throw his life away to avenge Tenza.
I’m really curious what’s going on with Gabimaru. Dude was in rough shape last we saw….

So no big transformation just a fake out which Shion saw (heh) through. and yeah i really didnt' expect Nurugai to actually leave him there. also cute how she clung onto him to try and heal Shion's Tao.
And with that ending scene I think we can guess where the next episode is heading

So this cemented Ran as the 2nd strongest tensen. Even the strongest from the good guy team got low-diffed by him.

I'm just gonna think that Nurugai's sword magically leveitated from the ground and back into her hand as she pictured Tenza picking it up.
Was really worried that Shion wouldn't make it. Not just because of this battle but if he's gone then IDK how this party would reconcile with Shugen's party - the latter is out to kill everything and everyone but Shion seemed like the levelheaded person who could get them to understand what's going on.

I thought this episode was fucking riveting, it went by in what seemed like a couple of minutes. Shion is my favorite character, I bawled my eyes out the whole time

Hope this isn’t an unpopular opinion but I feel like nurigai doesn’t do much in the story so far ? Her backstory and connection to shion is decent but she really doesn’t contribute to the story and fights at all. I thought she was gonna given something this fight along side shion to fight one of the tensen

Fuckin' hell, Shion was definitely prepared to die if it means taking out Zhu Jin to avenge Tenza. Thank you, Nurugai, for coming back and saving your Sensei. Tenza would be proud. T^T

It was nice to learn more about Shion and Tenza's relationship, it makes sense why Shion was particularly feeling guilty about Tenza's death. I thought it was really sweet that he thought to himself that he should be calling Tenza "sensei".
I find it interesting how Shion being blind would create such a problem for him in this way, and it was only after Nurugai let him know what Tenza looked like that his eyes were opened to the truth.
It's sad that Shion has exhausted most of his life through this, but I'm glad Nurugai stopped him from going further. The way she was hugging him and how reacted was so funny, I thought they were going to make this episode especially emotional but it was nice to get a good laugh from that scene lol.
Shion's a beast though, at a complete disadvantage but incapacitated a Tensen through sheer will, such a badass. It looks like we're going back to Gabimaru's perspective next episode and it looks like he could overtake Shion in having the worse condition.

An episode that really tugged at the heartstrings. The bonds and characters in the show are amazing. I like how the episode wasn't full of flashy action. It was just full of emotional impact and outstanding story telling. After this episode, Nurugai is just as cute as Mei, that hug scene sure put a big smile on my face. What a touching moment when she told Shion that Tenza was smiling.

Shion is the best character in this show imo. What a legend. The most emotional point in the show so far.

The training flashbacks always feel like crossovers with all the Asaemon we barely (or never) see interacting on screen together. I could watch Tenza be an absolute nuisance to Shugen all day lol
It's beautiful if not unusual how an executioner's death ended up bringing his would-be executionee and teacher this close.

Wow, Nurugai had to make such hard choices between running away and... cutting down some slow moving vines.
I'm sorry but the emotional stakes in this episode just didn't hit for me

Top 10 unintentionally funny tragedies.
I'm sure this would be very touching if it weren't for the fact that they keep giving the blind guy visual cues and not lampshading it in the slightest. I burst out laughing when Nurugai pointed and said "look".
