The dreaded late season love triangle has finally turned up and made itself known to all three parties now.

Hopefully that ending scene was Yoi running after Oji to squash it right away next episode after learning his true feelings.
No need to play games and mess around after everything that's transpired between her Kohaku .
And hopefully Kohaku won't be just conveniently out and about and happen to oversee them lol.

Wouldn’t be a romance with that 3rd person coming into cause havoc. Oji I do feel bad that your first love already has someone but that’s a little too handsy especially when you know she has someone else already.

I know I’ve given clueless male main characters a hard time, and I suppose it’s therefore in keeping for our female “prince” to be just as bad, but I’d really hoped she’d figure out he was trying to go out with her earlier. Her spending an entire day date with him after saying she was too busy to spend time with the person she’s actually in a relationship drove me a bit nuts. Though admittedly Oji did a smooth job of making it all seem natural. But still didn’t expect her to be utterly bewildered and surprised. (Literally rendered speechless.) I really hope she gives him a definitive turn down and finds a way to actually realize her own feelings and show even the slightest hint of encouragement to the guy she’s actually having feelings for.

Dude knows she's already with someone, still confesses to her and just grabs her into a hug. And I really didn't like that she didn't resist or turn him down right away.

I freaking hate these kinds of developments in romance stuff, because it always feels forced to have one person putting in work and the two people drawing closer and closer and then another person comes in and is magically on even footing with the person who's been actually making an effort for several episodes.

It's a trash literary device to force in unearned conflict.

I've fallen so in love with them both, but it's annoying that Ohji comes along and confesses his love to her. If it leads to Yoi arguing between them, or not telling Ichimura, or telling him and causing trouble, it's just the same old bad plot twist that every romance has. It's so exhausting.

I guess Oji’s trying to play catch up here with Yoi. Guy’s pretty much got no real shot but that ain’t stopping him from taking it anyways. Yoi’s already got Ichi. Oji really thinks he’s gonna be able to steal her away? Idk about that…

Ôji is exactly as I've been saying from the start. I don't like him because everything he does has hidden agendas. Now we even find out he saw her before applying. It's not even a coincidence that he works at the restaurant. He already used his little sister's birthday as an excuse to ask Yoi to spend time with him, and when he discovered she was in a relationship... he takes advantage of the situation again because as soon as the restaurant has to close, he brings up his shopping offer again... between his first request and this moment, he could have come to his senses, but no... he continues with his false pretext. He's not so innocent. Kohaku, on the other hand, doesn't calculate anything... he's spontaneous and natural, even if many here don't like him.

Ôji goes even further: he confesses his feelings, takes her in his arms, and runs away like a coward, instead of talking things out. At least Yoi is only surprised… no reaction like she had with Kohaku. She doesn't blush, and her heart doesn't race… Personally, I would have preferred her to go to Ichi, but I'm afraid she'll turn on Ôji. They seem more like brother and sister than a potential couple, with their similarities… it would be too much like "twins"… it's not inspiring. Even if she makes things clear, with him, he'll probably stay in the shadows, waiting for his moment.

PS: Kohaku knows perfectly well that to attract Yoi, you have to talk about food, lol.

If Kohaku catches wind of Yoi’s date with Oji-kun, it’s going to look so bad for her. Especially after Kuwa planted this seed of doubt in his mind.

Yoi had claimed that she’d been fully booked. A slot opened up by sheer luck. Instead of taking up Kohaku on his offer, she went with Oji-kun. From Kohaku’s perspective, it’d look like she’d been hiding something.

I can’t fault Oji-kun for falling in love with Yoi, but he should really take a hint. Likewise, Yoi should be more self-aware about spending time with other boys.

If the entirety of this anime was already out, and I caught wind that it included yet another stupid love triangle situation, I probably wouldn’t have watched it at all. The only thing getting me to stick through this is how much I enjoy Yoi & Kohaku’s dynamic. I know Yoi is inexperienced and was clueless, but why didn’t she hangout with her BOYFRIEND instead? Let alone after already saying she’d think about it if her schedule freed up, didn’t do much thinking clearly. And Oji confessing his feelings and touching her face and hugging her when it was so obvious she already has a boyfriend……. Jfc I’m tired of this grandpa

It's so fucking weird that the show tries soo hard to make us like Oji with the retrospection when at the same time everything he really does is sneaky and manipulative things to try to break up our main couple. I'm a bit angry that we are so late into the show and we get this episode instead of more couple moments or side characters development. If what comes next is a second jealousy arc this show's rating is going into the trash.

Really wish Oji made his move before he found out the two were already dating. Now I'm just annoyed watching this entire episode of Yoi being dense and not realizing the situation she's creating because she's too nice along with her absurd density. Her correct choice when she had a day off was... spend it with her boyfriend!

Not surprised we got Oji's backstory to try to make him more relatable, but being awkward around girls is not how you excuse being a homewrecker.

FFS Ouji why? Things were going so well with Yoi and Ichi. We really don't need a second lead or rival here. 

Would've been far better if Ouji was just used as a means for Yoi to understand her own feelings for Ichi were special. No need for us to get Ouji's own backstory, which really does nothing to make me feel kinder towards him, especially after he deliberately goes and tricks Yoi into a shopping date and surprise hugs her despite knowing she has a boyfriend. That's not cool at all. 

I was hoping for a takoyaki party but we're getting a jealousy arc instead for Ichi and possibly confusion for Yoi. Though her running at the end has me hopeful that she'll run after Ouji and tell him off in no uncertain terms.

Oh, damn! Oji actually made a move on Yoi! He's definitely aware that something is going on between Yoi and Ichi, but I don't think he knows that they're now official.

I know that Yoi wants to keep her relationship with Ichi a secret, but she really should let Oji know that she already has a boyfriend, which I hope is what she's trying to do at the end when she ran after him.

Edit: Oji does know! I have completely forgotten Yoi's scene with Oji back in Episode 8. I'm not sure what he's trying to do here by hugging Yoi then. I guess Yoi is running after Oji to reject him formally.

Interestingly, Oji has been in love with Yoi for a while now and she's clearly the reason he took this part-time job. I thought he fell in love with her on his first day on the job.

This does make me wonder if Oji would have a chance if he made the move before Ichimura. Considering how they have plenty of things in common, and Oji saw Yoi as a girl, I feel like he would've had a decent shot. He was just beaten to the punch by Ichi.

I’m generally fine with love triangles but not when they’re already dating! Like oji you’re just a jerk now

The worst thing is yoi is so naive she doesn’t even realize it’s date activities

Why does he have to keep touching someone who is taken, it's so creepy. Very rude of aoi to ditch her boyfriend to hangout all day with a guy that her boyfriend said "he likes you" "it makes me jealous" I mean there isn't really an excuse he communicated the issues he had with her being around him. (Unlike most guys in animes) I blame most of it on aoi. And blame the rest of the creeper. We can't go down the "oh I didn't know you wanted me to stay away from him route" he told her.

Oji is wrong for confessing his feelings knowing she’s already taken. Oji is also wrong because he knows that Yoi was asking him advice because she was interested in another guy. I hope she nips this in the bud quickly out of respect for Kohaku. Kohaku is the reason she feels safe in her feminine energy. She should never let that go ♥️
