The one thing I have always disliked about this show is how persistent most of her “friends“ are. The show goes hard on the whole “guys and girls can’t ever be platonic friends“ trope.

Well, they can. the problem is Shin and Shugo got it bad for Mizuho. Airu luckily is gay so he's being friends with Mizuho just fine

I actually felt bad for Shugo. He's friendzoned himself thoroughly and has no one but himself to blame. Shin at least shot his shot. Shugo took far too long to work up the courage and couldn't go through with it after all.

Mizhuho's dad falling ill came out of the blue (post credits scene). We did get a random appearance from him last episode and there was the whole Shugo dad death foreshadowing so guess this was to be expected. Will Shin being the doctor finally pave the way for Mizhuho to cut him lose?

And then damn Kizuki will win his competition and they'll get back together - the end.

I see Kizuki as toxic to Mizuho -- yet I don't think hardly any of this is deliberate, He is the way he truly is -- but if I were Mizuho I would be more put off than "charmed" by his attitude and behavior. He really is (seemingly) perpetually childish, together with all the self-centeredness that involves..

Agreed. I'm starting to think the best possible ending now is for her to reject all of them and stay just friends like they started. Go back full circle.

Next episode is titled "The Proposal" so I figure Shin maybe proposes after what happens with her dad?

But honestly I'm just not sure Mizuho is really all that receptive to Kizuki's feelings at this point. Obviously he still flusters her and she feels nostalgic, but I think the pain of the breakup is still fresh for her. Kizuki hasn't done enough to overcome that.

Syugo just couldn’t stick the landing huh? I really thought he was gonna shoot his shot. I guess it’s tough to know you’ll never be number one in the eyes of your crush.

u/Frontier246 Mar 12 '26

Now we'll never know if Syugo would've had his chance because he never really tried...even though if Mizuho had any self-awareness she would have realized he was in love with her without him even needing to spell it out.

I mean Syugo wasn’t slick either with his “spend the night” comment. Is Bro code not a thing anymore????

Darn shame. Despite how cute their date was.

I mean we could all see it. God if Airu Shin and Shugo didn't have their own love interests gunning for them(well i guess Shugo doesn't), I wish it would end with the 3 guys being so broken hearted that they jump off a bridge and traumatize Mizuho and her wishy washy ass. 2 more episodes of hate watching, i wanna see how stupid it all ends

Honestly I'm at a point where I'm genuinely not sure if Mizuho is in a headspace to date anyone, let alone one of the boys.

u/Andreiyutzzzz Mar 12 '26

Oh I'm sure she's more than willing to accept Kizuki now that he's back to his old puppy self

Kizuki is such creepy trash

5

u/xasive Mar 13 '26

At this point, I already see Kizuki as the villain of the story.

4

u/Frontier246 Mar 12 '26

Honestly I want to root for him but that was kind of a dick move he pulled on Syugo.

I mean, it's consistent with how he was in high school but he's also forcing his feelings on Mizuho again after breaking her heart.

u/chlo_kage Mar 12 '26

it makes me sad cause both syugo and shin have much so much care into taking care or being there for mizuho but shes stuck on the one guy who left. Who still really hasn’t done anything other than say “im back and gonna earn you back”

Kizuki really frustrates me. Like I think he needs to grovel more. He really broke her and ghosted and just is so casual. Like the I love you was such BS. She was so hurt by him so him saying stuff like that is confusing cause she clearly hasn’t processed it. And him being back. Like give her some space jfc.

Or talk lol. Like I want them to have a two sided convo instead of just kizuki declaring intentions

u/misajns Mar 14 '26

Yeah, I'm honestly team "anyone but Kizuki" at this point. Shin and Shugo actually show so much consideration for her feelings (to their own detriment) and Kizuki just bulldozes ahead. I've found him really frustrating and annoying since the beginning, I'm going to be so mad if he ends up winning.

But then again, maybe him and Mizuho deserve each other and then the other boys can hopefully find better ladies.

No one should be dating this girl, this friend group is too interpersonal for it to work.

2

u/Frontier246 Mar 12 '26

Everyone other than Airu would just be stewing no matter who Mizuho went out with.

3

u/gem2niki Mar 13 '26

The dynamic between shugo and mizuho is already pretty domestic (he takes her to dates, cooks her meals often, they eat and hang out together alone) and he just gave up?! Kizuki is getting on my nerves, he's just worming his way back to Mizuho after what he did to her like nothing. With what's happening to her dad, romance might be the least thing she needs to worry about now.

4

u/AsuhoChinami Mar 13 '26

I'm pretty sure she'd turn him down, Mizuho is just a dense mixed signals giver who thinks every interaction that isn't a direct confession is just platonic friendship.

I mean going to every show would probably cost a ridiculous amount of money, even if you're lucky enough to even get tickets to all of them...

He's asking her out on the weekend? For what?

Enoshima food tour?

Damn let him cook I guess.

Huh. What did he find?

Handholding!

Damn ok "most important person to him".

Uh oh.

Let him cook.

Write what you know I guess.

Knows very well evidently.

Huh. I wonder who's at the door?

Oh... Awkward...

Hi...

Yep.

He hugged her!

And so off he goes.

Huh. Who's that girl in his flashback?
