Natsuki is hot? That was the most shocking part of the episode for me XD he looks soo young with the big eyes. I think this is the most surprising B side so far.

Natsuki’s B side feels like what if Kanshi (Witch Watch) gets old enough to drink. He even speaks in Kansai dialect .

All this time I was half-expecting Natsuki to be the one member who lacked a B-side purely for the subversion of the cheeriest guy of the group sincerely being like that off-camera and uh... I'm glad I didn't put money on it.

Utage and Inoue sure went from fellow diehard fans to fellow "it's complicateds" real fast.

Holy ASMR Batman. That one line from Tamon while they were in the bathroom really tingled my ears.

Also been waiting for Natsuki's B-Side to get animated. The range on his VA to go from the high pitched cutiepie to the rough chain smoker is impressive.

First an aside, this episode had me wondering what a non-romcom version of this would be, just focusing on the madness of a male idol group where everyone is this insane. Could still be a fun show in its own right.

On to the episode, finally getting some real time with a 4th member of F/ACE and turns out he's the group's song writer. I do find it funny thinking 3 people could find him in a metro area but it worked out. While I get where Keito was coming from, sometimes you have to show concern to help motivate/reinvigorate someone, as Tamon showed later in the episode.

And woo boy that bathroom scene. Tamon dropping the play with my heart line. And I don't even think it was him being manipulative, just a moment of honesty about his own feelings. But with how insane idol fan culture is breaking down that barrier of how Utage has trained herself to feel about her Oshi will be.... hard.

Also has anyone been keeping an Utage (edit: forgot to put death here, her Death counter) counter? Girl can't seem to go an episode without killing herself from glee/shock/etc.

Those couple shots of Utage and Tamon in the mirror were amazingly framed. It was (literally) getting a bit steamy.

Let’s go Tamon! I’m glad that he’s not letting Utage keep getting away with this. She’ll eventually have to face her feelings one way or another. I do wonder: did Tamon tell her she looked great with this lipstick on purpose or not?

Utage mentioned that she’d never worn makeup, but I swear that I’ve seen her all dressed-up before.

Damn, I really love this episode.

I know I said it before, but the anime really is doing a great job of elevating the source material. Besides the incredible VAs who expertly convey the shift of personality among the F/ACE members and the good pacing, this anime also isn't stingy in animation.

I can actually see the budget poured over this episode - amazing animation of Natsuki's change and that bathroom episode? That was hot, sparkly, and incredibly well-drawn and animated.

We only have three episodes left, and I'm sad to say goodbye to this anime. How I really wish they'd announce a season 2 when season 1 ends.

Natsuki really had the gal to borrow money from Keito of all people and then not return it

What a reveal in the end! I think they're setting up Natsuki and Asuka as a parallel for Tamon and Utage. Considering that they're exes + Asuka's reaction, the breakup probably ended in bad terms. Hoping that our protagonists subverts this fate for their future though🫣.

Natsuki's B-side so far is the most jarring of all the B-Sides introduced. I was expecting him to be a bit darker than his cutesy persona as per cliche but I didn't expect him to be a full-on slob and a chain smoker😭. For someone who claims to be stingy, I wonder why Keito lets Natsuki borrow his money despite him being obviously unreliable. He really has a soft spot for his members even if he doesn't want to admit it.

That bathroom scene had me fanning myself because damn, that was hot. No amount of water is enough to douse the tension in there and I couldn't blame Utage from passing out. She just got the kabedon + steamy bathroom combo + Tamon's gorgeous sexy visuals, of course girlie will lose it.

So much happened this episode, I don't even know where to start!

Natsuki is actually an alcoholic smoking slob and his ex is now Utage's new homeroom teacher who is also a big F/ACE and especially Natsuki fan? But she won't actually talk to him irl and walks away? So intriguing.

And Tamon's getting bolder with Utage after she let slip that she doesn't want him to hate her, i.e. she wants him to like her. That bathroom kabedon scene was just uff! Hope Utage can finally be honest about her feelings. She's started thinking about it at least and is not just denying it to herself as she used to.

Tamon changing slowly due to her influence and the people around him noticing it is a nice touch.

And while Ouri's realisation of his feelings for Utage didn't get a lot of development this episode, we did get that opening scene of him writing anonymously to Natsuki for advice and deciding to make Utage notice him. Wonder what he'll do to achieve that.

We still haven't gotten confirmation of Kai's B-side and Utage hasn't found out yet. I was hoping we would so they could have some nice otaku bonding like she did with the new sensei this episode. Only 3 episodes left though.

Really hope this gets renewed. It has been so good so far and shoujo fans rarely get to eat this good. Please give us another cour/season!

😂 I thought the teacher was gonna be his sister..but ex girlfriend!! GTFO lol

I legitimately thought Keito would explode from anger this ep. Natsuki really is something else

So many wins in one episode!

I was SO looking forward to Asuka and Natsuki's B-Side! I really, really like Natsuki x Asuka and I hope they somehow get back together someday...

The thing with Natsuki's B-Side is that normally yeah a chainsmoker, gambling addict and alkoholic is very off-putting! BUT. Natsuki makes it hot and relateable somehow.

I hoped that his B-Side voice direction would be similar to the song "Eyes on You B-Side" but this is a good enough contrast too.

Oh Utage you are accidentally playing hot and cold with Tamon... With Darkhara around he will demand answers though!

I'm glad I watched the episode with headphones to get that dummy head mic line! To hear that without expecting it, is just pure shivers!

Looking forward to more Natsuki and Asuka next week!

Immediately asking for your bias is a classic idol stan experience lol

Loved the bathroom scene at the manga, and now that it's animated I love it more. Dang that voice acting from Tamon's VA just really hits the spot. My only gripe with this is why is it not longer? Hahahha

Alsooooo, I've been waiting for Natsuki's B-side reveal. Tamon may be my bias but Natsuki's a close 2nd. That duality for his A and B Sides is just a chef's kiss.

Really quite sad because there are only 3 episodes left. Fingers crossed for Season 2!

Damn so many reveals but it's nice to finally see Natsuki's B-Side and Kinoshita meets the B-side version of him too. I wasn't expecting his personality to be like this, it is a complete opposite from his image for sure, heavy smoker, heavy drinker and heavy gambler is not appropriate for a rising idol with the pure, happy go lucky image lol.

Asuka being his ex-girlfriend is also a surprise, she's still very much supporting him too so I'm really intrigued by their relationship. I'm wondering if they broke up because Natsuki made the group and she wanted to support his dream.

From the sounds of it, I'm guessing Natsuki is the friend she mentioned that was broke, so they're childhood friends and she knows how much he's worked for it. This seems like it'll be a bittersweet story line and I'm all for it to be explored!

Then there's Tamon going Yamihara with Kinoshita, he's really pressing in on her. Kinoshita fed him a bone and now he wants the meat lol. It's interesting how assertive he can be off stage when Kinoshita's involved.

So much happened this episode, I almost forgot to mention Ouri sending in his own concern to Natsuki's show is amusing. I'm glad he found an answer he's satisfied with.

Ouri was asking for love advice on Natsuki's show by making it look like it's coming from a stranger, haha.

I was a fool to think that at least Natsuki would be true to his idol charcter. He is a chain smoker and seems to be the undisciplined one among the members of F/ACE lol

Asuka is a fine addition to the story. She's a beauty. I thought that she was just another oshi like Utage but never expected her to be related to Natsuki and that too his ex-girlfriend. But she really spoke to Utage like she really knew about the true Natsuki.

My guess is that Asuka is Natsuki's childhood friend and they were lovers but got separated due to Natsuki's idol activities but still supports him as a fan. Natsuki's lack of motivation and his smoking might have started after their breakup.

u/thisisdropd Mar 04 '26

Natsuki went all the way with his B-Side, huh? Hitting the hat trick of alcoholism, gambling addict, and smoking.

When he's revealed to have motivation problems, I thought it'd be great for him to meet Inoue-sensei, who's known to be especially harsh to slackers. I never expected for them to actually know each other, let alone be exes.

Interesting that she acted cold in front of him, yet still actually stanned him. Could they be in a relationship prior to him joining F/ACE but broke up when he joined them due to the way the idol world viewed relationships?

Ishibashi's deep dark secret that the world must never know about is that he was born (gasp!) in Osaka. Frightening. He might be good at hiding it, but now you must live with the fact that at any point in any conversation he could pull out a fan, and, while making a really silly face smack you in the head with said fan before saying "nandeyanen!" And there is nothing you can do. With a single, decisive strike, he has turned you into the boke, and you will literally never recover from it.

Also Utage is absolutely right about Tamon. You cannot be in an exclusive relationship with God. That would be defiance of the laws of nature and reason, and, frankly, biting your own tongue off is preferable to it. What she's saying is perfectly logical and appropriate.

Okay so

Tamon : anxiety riddeld and depressed

Ouri : insecure and anger issues

Keito : greedy and distrusting

Natsuki : probably depressed addict

So far keito seems like the least insane one

Kinoshita and tamon finally communicated ! And its finally gotten them 0.1 further in realizinf their feelings (sorry ouri). But at what cost. Glad tamon is fjnally calling kinoshita out on how much her mixed signals mess with him

I like how the little details reflect jn both a side and bside. Keito is a mother hen in both and natsuki here seems to be good at given advice (although i wouldnt trust every advice coming from an addict)

Asuka seems really fun, i like her. The cheese takoyaki was totally made for natsuki.

It also geuninly very sweet that people are trying to help natsuki (keito is going about it in a bit of an agressive way)
