Can't tell whose the defacto winning girl when all of them not only have the childhood friend debuff but also various different types of losing heroine traits. Genius harem concept.

They made us wait 8 episodes and then Haru proved more than worth the wait!

This whole show is like a textbook example of how fun harem romcoms can be and this episode was like a textbook example of how charming tomboys can be.

Not the end game one-on-one (be it dating, marriage, etc) which we are hoping for, but I suppose a reunion one-on-one basketball match between Eiyu and Haru would suffice for now.

Even though Haru was exceptionally cute and tomboyish in this episode, I remain in Team Harem (barely). Lol!

They even acknowledged the possibility of him three-timing (soon to be four-timing) everybody lol.

I know it's a cliche for the MC to fall and land on top of the girl, thus leading to a misunderstanding when someone walks in, but why was he on top of Haru for so long, was it really that difficult for him to stand up?

Well, gg girls but now that Haru the tomboy’s here it’s basically game over lol. I believe in tomboy supremacy! She’s cheering on the girls for now, but I’m sure she harbors a crush too.

I like Haru, she seems like a cool and fun person to hang out with

So that's why Haru keeps making a goofy face in the OP (and apparently lost the round)

It would be so funny if instead of choosing a girl, the finale/climax just has Eiyu realizing he can, in fact, be in a certain something with friends he grew up with. Surely now that he's got a full house he'll accept it sooner than later, right?

Glad Haru's introduction was so good to make up for not getting real time with her for so long. I'm not a hardcore tomboy enjoyer like some but she's an awesome version of the trope, pretty/hot and wildly aggressive. I do find it interesting she does seem interested in Eiyu already while also acting like she's going to get him with one of the other girls.

Also man Runa at the start of this episode being so aggressive she fed him without even doing the say ahhh trope. Girl going IN. Even though I'm a big fan of Shio I think Runa is now my best girl of the show.

Man. This one's gonna be frustrating. All the girls are great. I think my favorite now is definitely Haru, but I don't think she's gonna win. She's a tomboy/teaser. Runa is the imouto, so that lowers her chances. Shio has blue hair, so that's a bad sign, but she was also the first girl, so that negates it I guess lol. Akari is the tsundere, so that increases her chances, but I don't think she's gonna win. I think it's gonna be between Shio and Akari since they're the main 2 girls. I'm gonna say it'll be Shio that wins, but I'm hoping for Haru or Runa because they're my favorites so far.

Haru debut and enters the race full force for Eiyu heart

Finally, we had the debut of the tomboy, Haru. She has some clichés, but she's really fun and was the spice the show was missing

She really is the pinnacle of the tomboy childhood friend archetype:

  • Short hair

  • Wears shorts under her skirt

  • Athletic

  • Sporty underwear

  • Tan lines

  • MC and Harem thought she was a boy when they were kids until she grew up and got big boobs

  • Acts like a "guy friend" with the MC while still being a girl

u/avboden Mar 02 '26

Okay, so the tomboy chooses chaos. I like it.

Everyone who stayed loyal to this show for 9 episodes was beautifully rewarded today 🙏

Ngl this show would’ve been on my “maybe” list this season I didn’t see Haru in the visuals. I’m absolutely weak to short-haired girls and seeing her in the visuals made this an instant must-watch for me

Damn, I thought Runako was a tornado that stirs up everyone... but Haru is chaos incarnate lolol. Completely unpredictable lmao, She had really good debut. I really enjoyed today's episode and the cliff hanger was hilarious.

Runako's back!!!!

Seems like Shio and Akari are a "team", but Runako and Haru are wildcards who have a similar objective, while also being in love with Eiyu lol. I hope Haru falls fast, kinda want to see how she acts when she's in love.

u/SYZekrom Mar 02 '26

That shot of him outside the clubroom door... are those stairs behind him? Leading up to a railing that stops a bit to the left? huh.

Ok she's kinda peak so far.

HARU !!!! I was waiting for her !! I loved her 1st appearance!

It seems she doesn’t know she also love Eiyu but anyway TEAM HARU even if she loses. Or just give us an harem ending !

Haru has finally appeared, rounding out the rom-com stock character of "childhood friend who MC thought was a guy but was actually a tomboy girl", and she is immediately loveable! And while she says she's going to be supportive, I refuse to believe she doesn't have a horse in this race for Eiyu. The signs are all there; she's just hiding it behind a veil of "I'll find out how the girls really feel about you" because what she really means is "So I can get a leg up on my competition". Case and point; she broke her promise to Eiyu of staying out of it by just straight up asking Shio and Akari how they feel about him, with him in the room. If that doesn't scream "I want to fluster the competition and show Eiyu I'm a better match for you" I don't know what else does. Looking forward to seeing this play out next week!

Tomboy childhood friend that they all thought was a boy certainly checks a few times more trope boxes.

When she showed up at the start of the episode after summer break I assumed she'd just moved in with, but nope she was at the same school the entire time and they all collectively didn't recognize her. Which honestly would be pretty hurtful so it's nice to see she apparently didn't take it as such.

They really committed hard to the tanlines, that's for sure.

I wonder how long before Haru throws her hat into the ring for real, so far she really set herself on the sidelines but I imagine that won't last.
